A must on Sylt. And the perfect late afternoon break spot for us after spending the day biking through the northern part of the island. The outdoor seating area is a meticulously manicured garden labyrinth, with some tables enjoying a view of the sea. The beautiful garden area isn't to be outdone by the cafe's building interior however, which was transformed into a shabby chic haven from a former war bunker. What to order? The Kupferkanne is one of the best cafés at Sylt. Probaly the best. In the summer, you are best seated in the lovely garden, outside the former bunker from WWII. Always be careful to remember where your friends sit, because you might get lost on your way back from the cake bar or WC. The plum cake is my all-time favorite. The other cakes are delicious and the slices gigantic. A great choice of teas, even for tea experts. The view over the Wadden Sea (tideland) helps to relax. Lots of kids are running through the garden, having a great time. Just as their partens do. With a bit of luck, you will get to see one of the peacocks that strut around. It is always a big surprise for me, as this is one of the last places I'd expect a peacock to hang out. read more

One of the best cafés I know, great cakes, coffee and atmosphere. Make sure not to come at rush hour, you might be waiting for a long time but its always worth it! Its always a great place to go with the bike. read more
