Came in a Sunday night with no wait. I wish they were a bit more thorough on cleaning the tables and seats. They were sticky. The fish was fresh, but a bit stingy on the salmon roe. The cuts on the nigiri were on the thinner side too. I used to go to the one in Cupertino, so glad to see they've expanded around the US.

This place was awesome. Beware of coming here on an empty stomach or you may be out $100 speaking from personal experience haha. Jokes aside, the sushi here was great and pretty fresh. The service was pretty mediocre but it was because we placed our orders on the iPad or picked it up ourselves on the rotating conveyer belt. The had this cute robot busser which was cool and they had a game you could play if you ate enough sushi. Would definitely eat here again if I was craving sushi in Boulder!

I came to Kura Revolving Sushi Bar for a late Saturday night dinner. Upon arriving, the place was packed. Despite this, the staff were quick to seat me. Everything is automated at this restaurant. For sushi, you simply take whatever you want off the conveyor belt. If you want a special order item, you can interact with the touchscreen to place an order. You can also order drinks via the touchscreen - they will be ferried out with a robot. Overall, Kura wins when it comes to novelty. However, the food here isn't that good. While the fish slices were average-sized, the rice was of horrible quality. Nearly every nigiri I picked up crumbled into multiple pieces. The rice was also poorly seasoned and tasted pretty much like plain rice. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Kura for good food. The only reason to come here is for the novelty of a revolving sushi bar.

Very excited that Kura is finally here! We've visited other locations in different states and have always enjoyed the experience. The sushi is okay--not bad, but not the best. Some fish was really fresh and thickly cut, while others looked like they had been out for a while. There is a good variety of sushi, but an abundance of different types of salmon. Depending on the time of day, there are only two plates for each item, and most were taken by the time it reached our table. My favorite is the scallop dishes and I had to wait a few cycles for it to be available. If an item was available to order through the touchscreen, we did that instead of waiting to see if it would appear. It's $3.90 a plate for 2 pieces of sushi (1 piece if you get the toro, which is cheap!), but it adds up quickly when you're throwing down 25+ plates in one sitting. There's also some appetizers, sushi rolls, and dessert options. Sides and other menu items are pretty pricey for the portions; the $11 ramen was meh. The kids like it since they're able to interact and choose what they want to eat. They also eat more with the Bikkura game, receiving a surprise toy dispensed from a vending machine for every 5 plates that are consumed. Servers really aren't needed here with the conveyor belt system, the touch screen to order items, and the robots to bring your drinks. We enjoy the minimal interaction and the self-service concept.

First time at this new restaurant in Boulder and we will definitely be back! Make a reservation! We had to wait a bit even though we had one but all tables were reserved for the remainder of the evening. While we were waiting for our table we got to observe the robots as they delivered drinks. A couple of times they got stuck because they didn't have the space to go around each other. One spilled a drink. It was quite the show to watch! The place was hopping with activity from patrons eating, robots serving and playing music and servers checking people in and following up with patrons. Once we were seated, our server was super friendly and helpful as they explained how everything worked and then answered my questions. The sushi came by and we got what looked good and it was all delicious except the fried rice with fish on top. The fried rice cakes were cold and hard. I especially like the sweet shrimp with jalapeño and the scallops. Next time I want to try the seared scallops. But it was all delicious and we left with full bellies. I would love to be able to order wine and they do have sake. Just FYI. Looking forward to our next visit!

My entire family enjoyed our experience here. The non-sushi lovers had ramen and the sushi lovers had... almost everything else! We went at 5PM on a Saturday and got the last table available without a reservation before they started putting people on a wait. The conveyor belt was always full and we rarely had to wait too long for something we wanted. We also enjoyed the upper conveyor belt delivery of the ramen and the robot delivery of the drinks. We ended up with 1 prize (after 15 plates) and 23 plates in total (with only 2 of us really eating from the conveyor belt). I'm sure we'll be back when we're in the area. It was a lot of fun and good quality sushi.

YAY!!! Kura sushi is finally in Colorado!!! I've been to it several times in other states and I get the hype. Plates on the revolving conveyor belt? Fun! Seeing your food? Easy! And the digital screens to order? An introvert dream come true. lol Quality of food was exceptional. You honestly can't tell you're in a fast sushi shop. My items I loved: -cucumber salad -crispy rice with snow crab -Yazu tuna -Hokkaido scallop

My first few Kura experiences were over 10 years ago in Asia and a few years ago in Vegas. So happy to see them finally made its way to Boulder. Came here over last weekend for their soft opening and boy, it did not disappoint. A few tips before you trek to Boulder for the Kura experience. Download their app, and make a reservation in advance. Their official Grand Opening is this coming Friday, Aug 1st. It really made a huge difference. Our reservation was at 12:40PM, we were so excited and ended up showing up at 12:05... I let the employee know upfront and that we're willing to wait as we're too early... Our reservation number was still ahead of many of those who walked in the day of. We probably waited about 10 mins, if that, for our bar seating. When you get seated, order your drinks on the tablet so they'll bring your water/wasabi to you. Wasabi is not on the table like how it is in Asia but maybe they're trying to ensure customers don't waste it. The restaurant was super clean, the employees provided great service and even though they are busy... Overall I had a great time, food was really good! Usually for soft openings I'd give them more grace as they're trying to get their groove going, but Kura did an amazing job. Some customers were not as kind as they were probably hangry and didn't make a reservation... Oh for the Gashapon toy dispensing, not sure if it's always the same, but for the 1st one you'd need 15 plates, for the 2nd one for us was 10 plates.... This was different than back home but love that it was guaranteed after 15-10 plates of food. I hope they open up more branches in Denver soon. Thank you Kura team, you really rocked the soft opening in my opinion!

I have been to two of these locations when I visited Japan and was excited to see one opening here in Colorado. We made a reservation for Tuesday night at 6:30 PM for four people and only had to wait about five or 10 minutes for our table upon arrival. Most of the experience was exactly as I remembered it, with the conveyor belt, moving all around the restaurant, giving every table access. There were constantly sushi and other plates being sent out, every plate has a standard price, so no matter if you pull off the conveyor belt or order using the QR code, you will pay the same flat rate per plate. I did find that ordering the same dishes from the QR code and having them arrive at the table was a fresher option, and the dishes were better than their counterpart coming from the conveyor belt I loved the Aburi salmon, the seared flavor, giving it depth, I was not as impressed by the Aburi tuna, I just don't think the fish had that superior quality that I was hoping for. The Wagyu beef dishes were also really good all in all I was satisfied with the experience. Each of us spent about $50 and we're so full when we were leaving. There wasn't really any specific service staff for each individual table, but if you ordered a drink from the QR code, someone would bring it to your table. In the end we tipped about 10% given the style of service.

A solid unique addition to Boulder casual dining. Have been going about every 2-3 weeks since their soft opening in late July and enjoying it. Nothing quite like this on front range after Sushi-Rama chain went kaputt. The quality of fish has been up to par for conveyor type sushi joints and the pricing is very reasonable, with loyalty discounts in the app. Location is convenient with easy parking for dinner and you practically start eating right after getting seated. The casual service staff could sharpen up a bit and we've noticed cleanliness around the tables and chairs is not always all the way thorough. I always reserve on the app and usually get seated in average 5 mins. Good eating & pig out sometimes, much like visits to this chain and similar ones in Asia!

It was OK. The Eel handroll was the highlight. You have to order it off the display menu though. Its the same price as the regular items. The conveyer belt sushi and robot delivery is a novelty at first but wears off quickly. Chucking your plates down the table-side chute is a little weird but its how it works. You have to order wasabi and water on the display menu also. Its a little cramped in the seating areas and a the atmosphere is a little bland. Good to try once but Sapporo in Erie is still my favorite.

Kura (くら) is the most modern sushi place I've ever been too. Me and my accounting coworkers decided to spend our lunch break here and wow was I in for a treat. When I first walked in I saw a little reboot scooting around serving seated customers. That was my first time seeing a robot in person like that ! At Kura you don't have to have a server to wait on you. Everything was on an electronic screen and my sushi came out very quick. The ambiance there was very clean and very modern. I will definitely be coming back.

Really wanted to love this location but unfortunately it missed the mark for me. Having visited several locations in CA, was so excited to see one opening in Colorado! Went on a Monday afternoon. The service was great, waters were refilled often! Where the mark was missed, this tempura was $8. It was so small. The conveyer was barely had anything on them. We had to order from the tablet (those items did come quick!) Lastly, it seemed like $3 something for a plate was for the very basic stuff. Other things were very pricey for what you got.

We thought we made a mistake choosing sushi bar instead of a table because we'll have back issues. Surprisingly, the chairs had a mini back so you could lean back occasionally. And we think our experience was better because the sushi chefs would explain the origin of the fish and all the ingredients they used into each roll and order. We also got a complimentary piece for sitting at the sushi bar which was a light fried yellow tail which was so good. Service is amazing. They're attentive and check in on you often. It does take some time to get your rolls but give its time to digest. From watching the sushi chefs at the bar, they're very precise in how they make each roll. Every roll has similar proportions from the slight wasabi they use to the amount of rice and fish. Everything that we had was amazing. The hamachi and salmon sashimi felt like butter. It just melts in your mouth. The aged toro was so delicious. Even the edamame was just so good. The unagi nigiri is some of the best I've had in the state (the nigri was better than the handroll and I think it's because I love unagi so I love the ratio in nigiri form). The Spicy Tuna Oshizushi was a surprising favorite of the night along with the Crème Fresh Salmon Belly. I could've done without the wagyu but it was good. Every order does come with only 1 so order based on the amount of people that are with your party. Some items we were unsure of like the wagyu so we ordered 1 and shared a bite. Overall, I understand the hype and the reservations. But it was worth it and I'm surprised we can get high quality fish in a landlock state. Of the high end sushi restaurants in CO, Temaki Den is probably my fave.
