Huge, free pier!! This is a very long fishing pier and I love that it is free to walk out on. There are plenty of seats and a plethora of all different kinds of people. There is a shop inside with concession food and typical bait shop things.

My daughter and I have been walking on this pier for her whole life!! Kure Beach holds a special place in our hearts, and always will!! The owner is, by far, one of the kindest and best people we have ever met on the Island. He truly cares and always has a kind word, or a joke, and a warm smile. He has brightened our day more than once over the years, and hope his business sustains through this pandemic we are living through at the moment!! If we aren't walking on the pier (since we can't go inside presently), due to Covid, you may find us either swimming or on the beach near the pier. I feel so sad about the amount of beach erosion, but surely send positive vibes that this too, shall pass (as my Great-grandmother always said when things were not as happy). Please join me in supporting The Town of Kure Beach and the Historic Kure Beach Pier!! My family has lived in the area for many, many years...even before the original pier was built in 1923...it is one of the oldest piers on the Atlantic Coast!! Thank you for the years of wonderful views and your dedication to outstanding Cutomer service, see you soon!!

We can't come down to Kure Beach without spending some time at this pier. We love walking out way above the ocean and watching the people at work fishing and occasionally being almost eye to eye with a pelican that decides to take a rest on the railing. The pier has been hit many times by hurricanes and sustained damage, but thankfully, they always rebuild! They have quite a store inside with anything you may need to fish with from all sorts of equipment to any kind of bait you can imagine. They even host a yearly fishing tournament. Much of the store is beach souvenirs of all sorts from knick knacks to sandals, flotation devices, postcards, tee shirts, hats, sweatshirts and more, with many bearing "Kure Beach" on them. They also have a variety of snacks, cold drinks and even ice cream. This town is my idea of a vacation at an old fashioned small beach town. Park the car and just walk to everything and don't get back in it till it's time to drive home.

    Fishing a bit.

This is a great pier to see the sunrise or sunset from if you want to stay away from the salt and sand. I've been down here many times and love this pier. Everyone is always friendly and it's cool to see what everyone catches throughout the day. Free parking in downtown Kure Beach, which is also a plus! From their site: ~ Open 24 hours a day ~ NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED!!! Opens April 1st through November 30th One Rod and Reel per Person $5.00 per Fisherman King Fishing - $12 * May 15th - October 1st * 3 Rods * 6am to Sunset Shark Fishing - $12 * June 1st - Sept. 15th * 3 Rods * 12 am to 6am Free to walk down anytime Don't miss the huge pelican that sits around and waits for you to catch something so he can be fed! HAH!

Really nice pier. I'd say one of the nicest In the area with a great park close by. It gets packed by the pier so come prepared to be around a lot of people. Quite a few places to eat within two blocks.

Probably the best place to spend an afternoon. Fishing, family, and fresh air. Games galore. Really had a special time with my kids and will be back!

    Pelican watching over the pier!

We always go to Kure beach instead of Carolina. The kids love it, it's not too crowded and it's clean. Plus the parking is free!

Ask the Community - Kure Beach Fishing Pier

What hours is the bait shop open?

The pier and shop are open 24/7 during their season. But, it doesn't open until April. I don't know when it closes for the season, you will have to call on that.

Can u take ur dog on the pier?

    NO PETS ALLOWED!
