You need to be VERY careful going here. First, if you are sensitive to the current events, you may not want to go here because they don't wear masks. Second, I have a car that I recently purchased from a CarMax. They fully inspected the car and topped off ALL of the fluids. I went here to get a state inspection for Texas plates, the Hispanic mechanic (His name was Juan or Jose) said that it would be 20 minutes. I've had emissions tests done in Portland and they did not take 20 minutes, but there were a few cars ahead of me so I figured that was why. He said it would be $25.50. Tell me why I see my hood open. That was also never done in Portland. I started to get suspicious when it took longer than 20 minutes. So I walked up and told them that I wanted to leave. The tall mechanic with gold teeth is like "you can leave" and as he walks me to my car, I notice that the oil cap is off. He says to the other mechanic "you didn't drain bay 1 did you?! The oil cap is off." I may not be a mechanic, but I know good and well that my oil cap should not have been off. I checked to see if they had done something to my car but it looks like I might've saved it in the nick of time. I will be checking my footage and I'll let update my review. I later went to Pep Boys down the street and they did my inspection in less than 10 minutes! They also didn't lift my hood or remove my oil cap. So yes they are scammers and I think my being a black female had something to do with it. read more

I drove up at 8am to get an oil change. When I pulled up there were 3 other cars waiting so each drive up was full once I got there. First of this location is sooooo close to me I could walk Haha so it's great if I needed more work done. The staff was very friendly. I know it was my first time so I went online and printed out a first time customer coupon but since they didn't find me in my system the gentleman who helped me told me about the offer! He told me how much it would be and had me fill out some info while I filled out my fact sheet. I only waited 30min being 3rd in line and was cashed out and ready for my next errand by 8:34. Shortly after I received a phone call from 972-514-0510 Kwik Kar saying someon brought my vehicle and didn't pay. Which is not ok. I called the person that brought my car and it was a miscommunication. He called me like I was the criminal while I'm at home. Instead of being honest and admitting to handing the vehicle over and telling him he was good to go. He stated that my family member was good to go pay . Police were called I was treated like a criminal all while working at home smh. Responding to the shops comment: the filter collapsed like that because it was the wrong filter. You are 100% wrong. I've changed the oil on that car and the same model of car dozens of times! The only reason it was taken to shop for the oil change was I had just moved to Texas and did not have any tools. The oil filter used had a metal base(all the correct filters for that motor use paper) and was much too long. The bad work destroyed the plastic filter housing cap... and clearly was not filtering correctly. read more

Came here on a Monday to get a state inspection. They said the certified inspector left at 4PM and told me to come back the following day. I left work a little early after calling in and was told that the inspector would be leaving at 5:30PM. This place closes at 6PM, I believe. Got there and got my inspection done. The mechanic even showed me that something in my engine was short cycling that could later affect my A/C. Was out of there within 30 minutes. Paid $35 or something. I think the inspection itself is a little under $30 bucks, but my rear license plate lights were both shot and the mechanic just put some bulbs in for me for a minimal charge. read more

Again..... this goes to show the integrity of this company. You had my review erased three times!! Instead of resolving my issue and returning my 9k. You choose to delete my review. So here it is for the 3rd time I paid almost $9,000.00 to have a motor replaced on a 2011 Cadillac in January 2022. My mother passed away, and left this car to my son. They put in a "refurbished" motor I was also told that the motor was good for 54,000 miles. The car was finished January 27th. And the motor lasted almost 4 1/2 months. No where near 54,000. Approx. 4 thousand miles. The car stopped, I had to have it towed to Pep Boys, and pay $500+ for them to tell me that motor wasn't any good, and had to be replaced, and a replacement would cost $10,000.00. Pep boys said they would honor the warrant, contact Kwik, and if it's under warranty, the will fix it. I called Kwik to let them know on Friday 6/10/2022. I was told that the place was under new ownership, so they might not honor the warranty. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was off, and to call back the next day. I called back 6/11/2022, and spoke with the manager and the first words out of his mouth was, it is under warranty but I can't be out $8,000 for someone to fix it. But me, as the customer is out, almost $9,500.00 total for this mess. Then I was told it was under new management, and Robert said he had to talk to the owner. So call back in 3 days. This "call back" went on for over a month. He claimed the new owners did not have time to talk to him. I asked Robert to give me the number to talk to the new owner. And I was told that he had to check to see if they would talk to me. He would call me back..... and I'm still waiting. No call, not dealing with the issue but instead deleted my review twice. I trusted them to fix my car, but all they have given me is the run around. I had to pay 10k, to replace the 9k motor that they claim to have put in. This business lacks integrity, do not trust them!!!!! And new owner .... I'm still waiting for the call. read more

I have been to this store twice since I moved to the area, with great service both times. The last time I asked for brake service, expecting to have to pay for new brake pads. The technician informed me that my brakes are fine for now, but will continue to check them every time I come in going forward. He could have just told me they needed replaced, and I wouldn't have known any different. Beware of new ownership. Giving new ownership and staff one star. Service is not the same as it use to be. Been coming here for 6 years and now this location tries to up sale and not do what's best or needed for customer. I had my power steering fixed and parts replaced. Two weeks later I smelled something burning and turns out the power steering fluid was leaking. Said they couldn't find any issues and everything checked out. Two days later I had trouble steering and returned again. Mechanic made adjustments and found a leak. All fixed but I would not return because I had to really haggle with them to look for the problem with the car when they were the ones that did the work. This would never have been an issue before. Maybe I caught them all on a bad day but after speaking with the manager it just seemed like the new attitude is we can't help you even though we did the work and we don't care. Their hands seemed to be tied by new ownership and that sucks. read more

Yes, I was a big time customer........Yes, the business sold, and it has gong to the dogs. Big time turn over of employees and this was my Last Rodeo with this place. Went to get a state inspection and failed because my power steering fluid level was a little low so I ask them if they could put a little in and there response was they needed to do a p.s.flush. Really??? I have never heard of a power steering flush, what a bunch of BS......They did not pass it so I told them I will get some power steering fluid and put it in myself and then bring it back, in which they in turn passed it. To recap....inspection started 3:30......WalMart 4:00......back to Kwik Kar (haha) 4:30 finished 4:55 do the math. KWIK KAR know this: The most important people in your business are you CUSTOMERS, without them you have no business! I can't say enough great things about this particular Kwik Kar station. I don't know if this is a franchise-based company or if everything is owned by a corporate HQ, but this particular Kwik Kar really does feel like a "neighborhood" auto shop. Every single staff member is super-nice, and they take great care to update you on what's going on with your repair/inspection/oil change. I've been going to this particular one for years - at least since 2002, when I first moved back to Dallas - and ownership has changed a few times over the years, but no matter who has owned the place, the staff has never failed to treat their customers with utmost respect and professionalism. I recently had my 1995 Geo Prizm inspected here, and while it ultimately didn't pass both the first AND second attempts, you could tell that the staff were really rooting for it to make it. They tried everything they could and were genuinely disappointed when it didn't pass. As sad as it was for me, too, I was really touched that they cared so much. That's how amazing this place is. I can't recommend this Kwik Kar enough -- two thumbs up, 5 stars for sure! read more
