I was referred to Windward Natural Equine Center by an unprofessional trainer trying to help me with my beautiful filly . I was learned that I was the one that needed training to . Sierra my Fillies trainer works with me and Stormy together And I'm so excited to say Sierra is magic, consistent, punctual, so gifted with her training techniques. It's a God thing.I highly recommend Sierra and the amazing stable .They keep her stalls cleaned and it's a wonderful place to board your horse and for training. Miss Jenna has a long history with horses and is eager to share her knowledge. She's incredibly patient and calm. My daughter has rode 2 of her horses. Kathy was diligent in making sure my horse was fed properly plus adding her supplements that she needed. l was always let know when she was running low on her supplements. There is a wash rack and large arena to ride in. Kathy made sure we had horse clinics to have all horses up to date on their shots and had an excellent farrier, Bob Broussard, come regularly. There are lots of empty fields to ride your horse around in. Hatcher Farms may not be the fanciest place, but it is reasonably priced and you know your horse is well cared for. It is a friendly gossip free place, everyone gets along and located in an area free of heavy traffic. l enjoyed keeping my horse Roulette there, and unfortunately she recently passed away. Kathy was there with me to the very end offering support and comfort during this difficult time. l highly recommend boarding your horse here. Coincidntally, the owner came out as I was taking a picture of their sign... I inquied about their rates which came out to be $120 for five Riding Lessons ($24 hr for those that are arithmetically challenged). The owner said it would come out to more than an hour per lesson as the Rider has to Saddle the Horse as well as groom it after Riding. I, myself, probably will not take advantage of Epona Farms as I hadn't rode a Horse in twenty years... but my kids will have something else to keep themselves busy when visiting the Lodi area.

Parking is a challenge because of all the unmovable vehicles. When you walk into the barn, it isn't any better. Chicken poop is everywhere. Horse tack is lying around on the floor, on the bench, and all over the crosstie area. There are dirty dishes on the table. Food wrappers are on the floor and in the arena. No restroom. However, there is a portable toilet that you must pay to use each month. Each time my children rode a horse, she had to search for the tack because it was rarely in the same place. Instruction and Supervision: The first few lessons were decent. The instructor showed my child how to groom and tack the horse. After the third lesson, the instructor expected my child to retrieve the horse from the pasture, groom, tack, and warm up unsupervised. As the parent, I was expected to help my child get the horse ready.... Not my idea of quality supervision or a safe environment. While my child was grooming the pony, the pony pawed at the floor. The owner/instructor picked up a grooming brush and threw it at the pony. The sudden noise scarred all of us. Then, the owner/instructor picked up a whip and walked toward the pony when it continued to paw. That was enough for me. This was not a positive environment for my child or the pony. When we spoke about the situation, the owner made excuses for her behavior and then got defensive with me. We left and never came back. I would NOT recommend this facility or instructor. There are much better horse-riding/lesson facilities in the area that supervise the children when handling a horse.
