Have been using this laundromat over the last 20 years or so, when I have bulky items to wash or when my washer has needed service. I have to say that nothing has changed over the years, absolutely nothing, other than many of the machines don't work. I loaded 4 of the 4 load machines with my pillows and quilts, added the detergent and money. 2 of them would not work after loading the money. I received an error message on one, but since there's never an attendant there, who would know what that meant? The other one stopped counting my money at $2.50, even though I put more than enough in it trying to get it to register. Had to wait until my other two loads finished so I could use those two working machines again. Someone had clothes in 2 of the other machines, which were done, but nobody there to remove their clean clothes. The place is always filthy and today was no exception. My husband had to bring me some more laundry soap to redo the two machines that didn't work, and when he walked in he said "just come home, this place is a sh*& hole". I guess they don't feel like they have to update or clean it because it was pretty much full by the time I left. People need a laundromat, so therefore, they have to use this one, regardless of the filth and grime. I have attached some pictures to document what I saw today. I won't be going back until they do something about the shape of this place. You would think that with Covid, they would try a little harder. Today's trip to this laundromat reminds me how lucky we are that we rarely have to leave home to wash clothes. This business and it's unforgivable poor management is a blight on our city and the unlucky citizens that have to use a laundromat. Our visit today was occasion to because our home washer is out of order. we decided to go to the laundry mat to wash her clothes. Boy was that a mistake. We immediately noticed that the place is filthy and the machines are very poorly maintained. We quickly learned also that In addition to the many machines already marked out of order, many that are not marked out of order do not run for the required time or at the required temperatures. Already committed because our clothes were in the washer we came back and place them in the dryer. The dryer's that were not marked out of order had a knob that indicated the user could adjust the dryer temperature from hot to "low/permanent press" by turning the knob. Except for the two loads of towels and linens, we set our settings on the "low/permanent press" setting appropriate for the business clothes we were drying. The dryers also represent that they run for 30 minutes. We set the timer for 20 minutes So that we could hang up our business clothing before it was completely dry. Unfortunately the dryers didn't run the promised 30 minutes. As we put more money in When the first dryer stopped running after 15 to 20 minutes, we learned that the settings on th when the first dryer stopped running after 15 to 20 minutes, we learned that Cheating the user out of the promise time was not the only problem. Both of the dryers that we're set to low heat so hot that we couldn't touch the clothing to remove it without letting it sit. Moreover when we remove the clothes from dryer number 23, we discovered that many items out of the wash and wear clothing had been damaged by the excessive heat. We called the Number listed for service to report the problem. Naturally no one answered but a short while later he claimed owner called us back from a number with no caller ID. In the discussion, he reported that it would be at least a day before his service guy could come out and check the problem is but just claimed responsibility or knowledge. There is no way that this guy doesn't know that his machines don't run the promise time and that the temperature settings are not functional. A large number of the machines are already marked completely out of order. Moreover, and visiting with the few other customers who were present while we were, we were told that these problems with the machines are common place. The customer said they have to put up with it because they can't afford their own washing machines or to travel across town to another facility. As it stands, it's unfortunate but a couple hundred dollars of our clothing or damaged by this trashy business. More tragic, however, is that this probably happens to other people who cannot afford the loss. Do not use this place and somebody should go and take them to task. read more
