We had a shift in the weather and some surprise rain, and Raymond worked with us to adjust and make sure our bride and groom still got portraits that they loved. Raymond highlighted the natural beauty of the setting and the bride and groom to make for a stunning backdrop for their photos! He was also somehow everywhere--the photos he took of the reception show so many guests, and I didn't know you could actually make dancing look that real and fun in photos! But, in addition to those awesome things, my #1 favorite thing about Raymond was how comfortable we felt. Our wedding party photos are amazing and natural as Raymond made us feel relaxed and at ease. He guided us to show emotion by asking sweet questions (he had each bridesmaid tell the bride one thing that we were proud of her for) which made the photos really reflect the joy and love we were feeling that day. There are one million photographers who would do a great job of capturing our wedding, but Raymond's personality and unique touches to our wedding day are what make him SO special. He showed up early, and stayed later than he technically should have, just to capture all of the things we wanted him to. He had even come from out of town for our wedding and didn't even request that we pay for his hotel room. Raymond is so laid back and all about YOU on your wedding day and beyond. I almost feel like he hasn't done any other weddings this season because it seems like we're his only clients - that's how personal he is. He enabled our wedding day to flow seamlessly, and taking photographs was so much fun and such a treat with him. He even had my bridesmaids tell me each why they were so proud of me, and patiently snapped away while we were all emotional, sobby messes. It made for a really special moment between my best friends and me. I'm also HUGE into photographs, so the quality of my wedding photos really meant a ton to me. Raymond did not disappoint. We received our photos about a month ago, and I still look at them almost every day because I love them so much. They are stunning, and they look SO real and reflect our day perfectly. In the planning…read morestages they were the only caterer that worked to meet with us and give us suggestions in costs, selections, timing... basically everything we needed some direction on they were happy to help with. One caterer we contacted in March for our Sept wedding suggested we contact them again 2 or 3 weeks before our event. HCC was a welcome change of pace to work with people who had the knowledge and patience to work with us on our schedule. The amount of food they suggested (we served appetizers during our reception) seemed to be about spot on. I can't give a detailed review if the food because I didn't get a chance to eat much of it. But what I did eat was great and I heard mumblings of good things from our guests. But Jason was very helpful in getting everything set up during our event, making our food lines look great with the use of some extra linen, columns, and various boxes or something which added height along the buffet line. Our photographer (who is also my friend) suggested Derald Gray and DG Visionaries, as she had shot a wedding he DJ'd. Although we had never met or spoken in person until 2 hours before the ceremony, Derald did a fantastic job of communicating. His app made it easy for the bride and groom to share a sense of who they are and what music they enjoy. From prelude music to the ceremony to the reception itself - Derald shone. He seemed to have as much fun as the guests and was out on the dance floor entertaining us. The music was not overpowering during the dinner (as it can be at weddings), but a great backdrop to conversation and good food. Although our families are not big dancers, he kept the party going till the end. I highly recommend using Derald and DG Visionaries for your wedding or other event! Added bonus: he offered us a 25% discount since it was a Thursday-night wedding.

Derald must do marathon training in his off days, there's simply no other explanation for how he's able to maintain the level of energy he has for 6 hours straight. After he DJ'd my wedding, I started reading other reviews for him - there are none lower than 5 stars across six different websites (the knot, google, facebook, yelp, weddingwire). That level of consistency is nothing short of amazing. Hire somebody different at your own peril.
