It's striking red brick facade and high spires make it the most striking landmark on Upper Baggot street. It was built in 1832 and part of it's history involved treating wounded soldiers from the first World War. Nowadays it offers services for mental health, physiotherapy and addiction treatment. Well worth the 15-20min walk from the top of Grafton street. It overlooks a gaggle of coffee shops, so you can enjoy a drink and admire the building. The canal is a stones throw away so afterwards you could take a potter down there.

Yep, when I make a horror film with Nicole Kidman I'll set it here. In fact, Rosemary's Baby would've worked as well here as that spooky place in New York they found. As a Dubliner you can be inclined not to mention buildings like this despite walking past them everyday. So, next time look up and check out the cool weathered copper look-out tower and hope that you never get locked in during a storm.

So, as the Nissan Micra left fire along Rathmines road (in a similar manner to that car from 'Back to the future') mom and dad talked in a casual, devil may care sort of way while doing anatomically improbable things to do with bricks. 7 million hours later we arrive in Crumlin Children's hospital where the queue is mercifully short and after a little admin and short wait we are seen by a gaggle of nurses and doctors - all of which are wonderful and helpful and all of whom have come to the same conclusion. It's not Meningitis, he'll be fine. We were lucky on a few counts here, I have heard stories of parents waiting for hours and hours to be seen - it's just the luck of the draw but once you get your child seen to the staff are great - really great, cant say enough good about them. 5 Stars

While your 90 days insurance covers you, the service is active. The day it finishes, you are cut…read moreloose with only very expensive private options for followup. I couldnt stay in the hospital, as someone who suffers from CPTSD putting me in a bed on a busy ward with strange noises etc was impossible for me to take. After 5 days I was discharged to home care. Home care is a once a week session with your consultant or the team. This was somewhat useful but I found things often mentioned would not be followed up on e.g. we will discuss your treatment plan with your sister (she never heard from them). Lets discuss technique abcd next week, it wouldnt happen. Home care also gives you daily calls, during my time these moved to a dedicated center but at the start it was clearly a very busy person trying to do it on top of their day job. To say they didnt care is an understatement, nor would they call at times agreed. While trying to hold down a full time job, this became the most stressful part of my day. It felt like the call was about "are you still alive, then we are done here". There was a great doctor willing to get CBT off the ground but he was limited to 5 sessions - so that didnt get moving. On day 90, I met with the consultants standin and was told best of luck, never heard a word from them since. The damage they did to my ability to reach for help has been huge. They did not even pretend to care and thats crippling for someone on their knees.

This hospital is desperate I thought the Mater was bad this is worse, The wait times are a complete…read morejoke you could be waiting 24 hours or even longer and waiting all night. Myself and other People needing urgent care left sitting there for hours on end falling asleep on the seats. Junkies using drugs in the toilets you could get the horrible smell of it in the waiting room. Came in suicidal etc they gave me prescription for useless depressant tablets and told me to get on with it, refused to diagnose anything, Sadly I won't come back here the level care for suicidality and obvious mental health issues is incompetent and useless. The staff can see people sooner there often sitting in the office doing nothing anyways. The mental health services in this country are so bad, been in hospitals all over dublin and even discharged either given a prescription or or help lines sheet and thats it thanks to fine fall and finnana gael ruining the country, All in all very disappointing, clearly government is at fault. Won't set foot in here again the wait times are terrible.

Nice buzz around the place, well as well as can be expected in a hospital. Lovely friendly lady in the clinic and physio's are great too and know their stuff.

Holles Street to its friends, where our son was born…read more I had no idea how much work the folks did here, how they manage to make every parent feel like theirs is the most wondrous baby ever born and yet emit a confidence that lets the worried dad and the frightened mum know they have done this a thousand times and you'll be just fine. The midwives are just the best bunch of people ever, we owe them a debt of gratitude that will never be properly paid!
