I was denied and the excuse was is that cash pay adds up and had the nerve to insult me f, you have no clue how much money I have as income. Second, it's not because of that. It's because he is doctor who is known to over prescribe and run up insurance and since I didn't have it, I was told no. He isn't allowed to send scripts to ANY United or market street in town. and that is because is known for what he does. Before yall start getting it twisted. This isn't because I didn't get to go back- this is because I am pissed off that people like me who really need mental health CARE and USE their medicine as it should, are being told no while addicts actively using are getting in and prescribed controlled medicines. I have had trouble finding a mental health doctor who will actually write me what works and he was one before. but I don't want anything to do with this circus of a doctor's office. Once he gets in trouble or close to it he will move again. ​I honestly believe the cash pay of 350.00 initial is pretty high and every month after 250.00 but I have the money to pay it but since they cant run-up my insurance they denied me. So long story short. Dont go here unless you have insurance cause if not, you dont matter even when you really need your mental health meds.

They threatened to get cps involved and send her to a foster care facilty where she would never be heard from again . This statement sent the girl into further turmoil.... she was then told they were going to medicate her. She started having panic attack. DONT TRUST THIS FACILITY. Recently, I was admitted to North Texas State Hospital for Major Depressive Disorder…read more I have been admitted to other nearby hospitals that specialize in behavioral and mental health, so I thought I knew what to expect. The admissions process wasn't terribly long, but it was a bit longer and more thorough than the other hospitals' admission processes. After being officially admitted, the staff drove me to the next building (it's a campus, sort of), I was shown around the wing that I belonged in. In my room, there were two other beds, besides my own. I had a closet for my belongings (that the staff locked, so that my belongings were safe). It was not a hassle to have the staff unlock my closet. The pillow given to me was new and it had my name on it. The "day room" had a television set and an area to play card games and use stationery items. The other gathering area is where the radio was played. Patients were able to ask for a specific station, unless the music was triggering for other patients. The dining room was downstairs. There were 2-3 large cafeteria tables (similar to those seen in public school cafeterias). There were also two more-solitary tables for patients to choose from, in case they needed more proximity from others. The food was more than adequate and I gained at least 2 pounds (which was a positive, for me) while I was there. By the time I was discharged, I had less of an appetite for processed junk foods - because my taste buds had become accustomed to healthier foods. A nutritionist spoke to me about my nutritional needs and preferences. Double portion is offered, at their discretion. -- The staff at North Texas State Hospital were more professional and attentive to my mental health needs than any other hospital I've been admitted to. My treatment team met with me twice, during my 7-day stay. Psychiatrist, social worker, psychologist, and others. There were also registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, medical doctors, and psychiatric nurses' assistants. During my stay, there were classes to attend. When I was given an orientation, I chose which classes best suit my educational and recreational needs. The rehabilitation specialists were the teachers, I believe. My psychiatrist prescribed medication, which I began taking on my second day. Within two days of medication, I began to have genuine hope for my life again. (Your Mileage May Vary - AKA - each patient's experience is different.) After I adjusted to my medication to the point that I was able to re-join society (happily, at that), the discharge process began. Thank you to the staff of North Texas State Hospital. You were amazing!
