I have never felt so upset with this radio station before. I don't know if the people now working the street crew just are not passionate about their job or just don't care. There has been a lot of mistakes on their websites on where they will be for a chance to win certain items. They either get the locations wrong or they will have one time on one page and on another page a different time. I have called before to see what location they will be at for a chance to win certain movie screening tickets, becuase what was linked to it was on a day that was the day before the movie is out in theaters. I described to the worker on the phone that normally screenings are a couple of days before the movie comes out and wanted to know what location would be a correct location to be at since they had a couple of locations they had posted before the movie comes out. I explained that there are certain times I can't go due to work or locations because I am unable to drive those locations. This way I can see what location worked best for me so I can see if I can make it or not. The worker was nice enough to offer me a ticket and asked if I was going to the screening that night. I stated I was and also for the one on Wednesday. The worker told me I can pick it up with the workers working there that night. Well, the screening was canceled last minute for that night so I wasn't able to pick it up hoping I can get them on Wednesday. Come Wednesday, and the crew didn't have my tickets and told me to call the person I talked to ask about them because they do not know what happened that day. So I call the next day to let them know that Mondays screening was cancelled so no one was there and when I asked on Wednesday they said they didn't have it. The worker said it was odd because the crew should have had it. I asked if I could pick them up at the station since we didn't know how to get it to me. I go to the station to pick them up. The receptionist told me that the worker I talked to said I had to win them from now on and she couldn't do this for me anymore. I have never felt so hurt or felt like I did something bad like this before. I just told the receptionist kindly "ok, thank you so much." and left. As I walked out of the building I wanted to cry so badly. Not once in our conversation did I ask for the worker to give me the tickets. I only asked about where I can get them since what was posted didn't seem to be correct. I looked at the tickets and the date is before the event that they had posted on the site to win them. I used to like going to the street events they have and meeting their crew members, but over the last month or so they have gone down hill and lost their passion. There are some workers you know that just don't want to be out there dealing with people. read more

This station ruined Christmas music for me. At the start of every commercial break there was this one commercial EVERY MOTHER-F-ING TIME that went something like "hur hur Sacramento, the capital city, where we steal all of our sports teams from the Bay Area" blah blah blah. It's one of the 10 most annoying commercials I've ever heard in my life and I put up with it for about 4 weeks before I said enough and I haven't tuned in since. I e-mailed the station asking why they feel the need to play this commercial at the start of every break and the producer kindly wrote me back and said that it only airs 6 times a day on game days...but I guess every day must be a game day and they have far more than 6 commercial breaks daily, so that's simply not the case. I don't live in the Sac area anymore(thank goodness) and I really only streamed this station for their "Saturday at the 70s" and a new oldies station has just opened up down here or I can just stream K-Earth out of LA(a real media city), so there's really not much of a reason to ever tune in again. All because of that one commercial. At every break. Every time. It felt like my ears were being raped every time they played it. read more

Yep, Night Mix (or Bedtime Magic if you live in the Boston area) is something which will help you calm down after a crazy day. The fact that this station claims they play the most variety is laughable. A co worker of mine listens to this station all day, everyday, so I have no choice but to listen and I want to rip my ears off. I am so sick of hearing the same songs over and over again!! Switch it up! Adele, Justin Bieber, Pink. All day. They say that they play a 'variety' of 80s hits but it's the same exact songs all day long! I wish I could turn this station off! read more

I will start by saying I love the vast majority of music they play which is good because often I hear them multiple times in a day. However day after day hearing the same songs gets old. I just wish you would play a wider variety of songs from different artists or in the case of Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift for instance you could introduce us to some of their more recent work. Since I am retired and most of the day I have the radio on at home and in my car which is why I hear a lot of repeats. read more

I like the fact they don't play any brand new songs that came out only one week ago, because every other station does. They play some new- age along with some oldies or "yester-decade" type songs! Barely any rap or hip hop too, and I like it that way! The commercial free hour is nice too. read more

Stations like this are for people who don't really like music, they just want to have SOMETHING on- this station is most likely to be heard at a dentist. Lots of songs you've already heard a billion times. I don't know why they've been calling it "Mix 96" because there's no mix of anything, it's pretty monotonous. To me a real "mix" would be playing Frank Sinatra, Metallica, Herbie Hancock, Britney Spears, Barry Manilow, some classical music, and The Dead Kennedys all in a row. I have been listening to this station for a long time and still adore it! The station playlist allows for a variety of music that is not usually or currently played on other stations. Hence listening to the songs played on this station does not become repetitive. I definitely hear a lot of classic gems on this channel. I do wish David Allen Boucher still played his night mix because I do miss his one-of-a-kind voice! read more

This radio station plays the same music in the same order every single day. I am going insane, It is what plays over the speaker at my work and I cannot take it anymore. Not only is it the same songs over and over again but the same commercials over and over again. SOMEBODY CHANGE THIS STATION SO WE CAN HAVE REAL VARIETY. read more

David Allan Boucher is still going strong in Boston. Why CBS made a change for the worse and got rid of him is beyond me. I have quit listening to the radio at night without David, what's the point. It sometimes surprises me how some people become so foul mouthed over a simple review ..wow! With that said, I love listening to this station with the fun banter between Dan and Michelle. I do agree that the mix could actually have a little more variety, but I do love the music that is played. Keep up the good work Dan and Michelle!! read more

This music station is okay. Sometimes their DJ would say something that's not very appropriate for kids. It's starting to go trashy way..not professional at all somtimes. I don't think I want my kids to listen to this radio...adults listeners are okay though. Another thing I dislike this station is they have been having this commercial about undocumented illegal immgrates...this doctor was voicing all human beings deserve a health coverage...I was thinking...if this doctor was this compassionate to his patients...why can't he offer free of charge doctor visitors to his patients that are undocumented. I wish they would stop playing the undocumented illegal immgrates. It's starting to get to me. They play that commerical almost every 5 minutes now. Everytime I hear that commerical, I would feel like why do I have to pay more taxes for these illegal immgrates that are not supposed to be here in this country. Why do I need to support them? My plates are already full. No thanks!I I turn off my radio or switch to another channel whenever I hear that commerical. It's starting to get to me. Music are okay. My only complaint is that they have "Margaritaville" on high rotation. Even on non "Saturday at the 70's" days. There were other songs in the 70's besides "Margaritaville". And I definitely don't need to hear it on regular playlist days. read more

Weather visiting or driving through Sacramento on the way to South Lake Tahoe, Mix 96 is my number one choice with great variety from the 70's to today which is a little better than KOIT. I love Saturday at the 70's which is 70's music all Saturday which you hear songs that a lot of stations have forgotten about. Sure,! the station has gone through a lot of changes in DJs over the years, but such as life.! The DJs are all wonderful, perky people who make your day go buy faster during the week and slower on the weekends. Rob Stevens is probably one of the more original DJs who has held down well for those dihared "Mix 96 buffs." Of course, I love the fact that you can listen on-line whenever bay area radio gets a little boring. Keep up the good work guys.! read more
