One of the first stops on our backstreets food tour, Kismet Börekcisi was where we learned about the amazing pastries that they make here in Istanbul. We had three to try - one stuffed with meat, one stuffed with cheese and a sweet one topped with powdered sugar. O.M.G.
The one that was the favorite of the most of us on the tour was something called "Kol böreği" (thanks, Wikipedia!) which also goes by the name "arm börek" as is sort of looks like a man's forearm. Savory, tasty and just delicious. We ate the whole thing.
The master baker is right here on site and he's more than happy to show you what he does and how he turns these massive sheets of pastry into deliciousness.
