Als jahrelange Fans der türkischen Küche "testeten" wir zuerst den von uns begehrten Döner Kebab. Obwohl wir das leckere, in der deutschen Gastroküche längst angekommene Gericht schon vielerorts verspeisten, sorgte es durch "LIVAS"-Profi Mustafa Y.G. bei uns für einen absoluten Wow-Effekt! Noch nie wurden uns so knusprige, speziell zubereitete, angenehm dünne Fladenbrote - locker gefüllt mit unwahrscheinlich knackigen Salaten und frischem Gemüse serviert, spitzenmäßig kombiniert mit saftig-zartem, fein gewürztem Kalb- und Hühnerfleisch. Die hauseigenen Kräuter-, Knoblauch- und Scharfsoßen waren auf den Punkt abgeschmeckt. Ergänzt wurde die großzügige Portion noch mit geriebenem Schafskäse. Geschmacklich - ein wahres Highlight! Qualität, Sauberkeit und Zufriedenheit der Gäste werden bei Mustafa G.Y. und seinem Team großgeschrieben. Nicht nur, dass unsere Döner perfekt zubereitet wurden, trotz des großen Ansturms in der Mittagszeit wurden wir kompetent, schnell, freundlich und höflich bedient. In dem kleinen gepflegten Bistro werden neben Döner Kebab-Variationen noch viele klassische, immer frisch zubereitete Spezialitäten - auch take away - angeboten. A doner kebab is served in a pocketed bread, while a dürüm kebab is served with a thin wrap rolled around the same ingredients. I ordered the chicken doner kebab. They accept credit cards. The chicken was somewhat salty (1 star off), but the veggies and sauces were tasty. The bread was buttered and toasted, so it had a nice crunch. The doner kebab was big and messy to eat. I wished they offered a larger paper wrapper. There was no seating, so you have to eat it while walking on the street like a savage or pick one of the dirty street benches out front to camp out at. Dürüm is neater and more portable, so you might consider that option if you're self-conscious. Tip: Grab several paper towels from the counter with your kebab *before* you get sauce and grease all over your face.

In fact, I would now consider it my go-to place. Over the years, I have developed a proprietary Döner rating system based on the following categories: -Bread -Meat -Sauce -Salat ...and a more general "synergy" category that tries to evaluate the overall experience of that particular Döner while also serving as a catch-all for other things like price, friendliness, value, etc. My Döner, which is owned by a wonderful Turkish-German named Mezlüt (a baker by training), earns high marks for all of these: -Bread: 4 (hot, crispy, and pretty traditional) -Meat: 5 (plentiful, tasty, and not fatty) -Sauce: 5 (the ever-elusive "Cocktailsoße") -Salat: 5 (fresh) -Synergy: 5 (all elements blended perfectly together from start to finish) When in Berlin, one naturally has the choice of quite literally hundreds of Döner stands, and I am rarely disappointed no matter where I go. But the quality of My Döner--and Mezlüt's friendliness and commitment to his craft (he enjoys his own Döner while there, after all)--not to mention the massive Döner you get here for just 3€, is my new favorite and definitely worth your attention. It doesn't have the unique veggies of Mustafa's or the hype of some other ones, but the fact is that there is no gimmick here.
