Just steps away from the Catedral de Girona is this small Italian cafe with ample eating areas serving coffee and pastry. The inside was empty although every table outside was occupied by customers from the cathedral or just in the mood to grab some food. We ordered the Xuixo de Creme with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top. Absolutely loved the custard filling which perfectly complemented the fried dough. Not a bad find in a great location for only 3.9€. read more
Overall 3/5 stars! I would like to give L'Arc a little more credit. I would say that it is very much an easy eat after spending some time in the Cathedral, but I think their food is definitely worth a try! They have a signature dessert (it looks a bit like a chubby churro)--I'm completely blanking on the name but it was ABSOLUTELY delicious and they have a little advertisement for it on their counter--that was JUST the perfect amount of sweet and fluffiness (1st & 2nd photo, right dessert). My sister ordered the the Bikini (which was a Ham, Lettuce, & Tomato sandwich) and I had their Burger. I personally thought that the burger was a bit so-so; it was a bit more undercooked than what I had requested, but it did have an interesting sweet taste to it that I've never experienced before. I also ordered a little Caramel Cappuccino with Oatmilk & I absolutely loved it because it wasn't too bitter nor too sweet after adding the one provided pack of sugar. MY MOST FAVORITE dish/tapa ordered was 1000% the Patatas Bravas. During my stay in Spain, I ABSOLUTELY tried Patatas Bravas at every restaurant, and L'Arc's definitely competed for the first spot! Their patatas bravas weren't super spicy, and they had the PERFECT amount of crunch on them. I absolutely loved the Patatas Bravas and I would 300% come back to Girona for them The only other thing besides the burger that knocked my review down another star is that the service was a little disappointing. We were touring and had 5 people ordering in our family so it took a while for us to order, and our waitress began rolling her eyes along with the customer behind us. We personally didn't mind, but I believe that there should be a bit more tact and professionalism when providing service to visiting customers. At the very end, our waitress was kinder, which was appreciated! read more

AVOID. Tourist trap. Located at the base of the Cathedral, I wanted to sit and have a glass of wine with my wife while touring Girona. My red wine and my wife's cava was utterly disgusting. We don't normally complain but we asked for something else. We were told no. Since they already poured the wine we had to pay for it. Period. No exchanges. Apparently "they sell this wine everyday and nobody has complained." Doubtful. The wine was completely sour. The manager's excuse was "you've been sitting here a while so..." when my wife explained we were allowing the wine to breathe and see if it improved, he didn't care. We paid our $7.60 and won't return. Shame. read more
