It's situated in…read morethe cite part of Carcassonne, which means that everything in here is a tourist death trap, but sometimes, desperate times calls for desperate measures; and in a sea of restaurants, I had to choose the lesser of all the evils - I went with the cheapest meal I could find.
Of course, since it's so close to Christmas time, expect all small towns to shut down for a couple of weeks. And, of course, being as ill prepared as I am, I failed to get that particular memo......so, what should have been a charming little town situated in medieval castle walls is actually a creepy silent town with lots of christmas lights and no people.
The restaurant isn't too bad - just not the best. They offer a range of prix fixe meals, from about 15 euros to 24euros for 3 courses. After starving for the whole day, i opted for the cassoulet for my main course, and even though it didn't wow me, it sort of got the job done. 1. i was stuffed afterwards, 2. It was hearty and warm - perfect for a cold cold night.
Just know what you're getting into when you dine here - the service was pretty good and the lovely french waitress even managed a smile and chatted me up in french.
