I'm not beer drinker but I did stop by to try their beef stew also known as Vlaams Stoofvlees. Wheeeeeew baby. Their gravy sauce for the stew is rich and thick. You literally can pick out the herbs when you eat. There's nothing fake about this place. That meal honestly can be shared amongst two people. It was an interesting twist for me to eat a chicory salad. Never have I ever. Yet, it was earthy and tasty. Great health benefits too. One thing you'll notice in Belgium is there Mayo and ketchup is real not processed. You can literally taste the difference. If you're ever in Antwerp for even a couple of hours, make it your business to stop by and treat yourself to good food and beer.

I also ordered a local beer, that I had to clarify with them was from the area, not just a generic Belgian beer. You're really going for the atmosphere and the history. It's like they can tell you're an outsider/tourist and treat you as such, which is a strange choice, in my opinion, because they have this reputation that likely draws in the tourists. The waiter was quick to come take our orders. The drinks came out quickly and were delicious. We ordered several rounds while we were there. The atmosphere was great. It's located right next to a river. The only downside is that it is cash only, so make sure you have euros. Such a great place for a casual drink with friends.
