In the 20's and 30's it was a premier resort location on the French Riviera! Unlike the more famous Riviera beaches of today, the beach at Sablettes is beautiful SAND not rocks or pebbles. The hotel is very luxurious having been totally rebuilt a few years ago by a group of excellent French Hoteliers and rebranded under the Hilton chain as a Curio. We have had many excellent stays at this hotel that was recommended to us by Hilton. The little Galerie restaurant serves excellent food either indoor our outdoor in the garden with beautiful views of the "Deux Fréres" . The chef prepares wonderful cuisine, the wait staff is always friendly, excellent, and multi-lingual. We always enjoy an aperitif afternoons in the garden. This is one of the BEST locations along the French Riviera. Shhhh, please don't tell anyone!

I tried the poppy seed, the pistachio, the almond macarons, as well as another product that reminded me of the sugar waffles I used to get a the fair as a kid. The booth operator was very friendly and encouraged everyone to try each of the products offered. A couple people were treating it as a buffet, but still he was inviting to try more. The booth in this location was cash only, but the products were cheap. The price was per gram weight, which he said typically averaged 2-3 macarons for 1 Euro. This is the type of operation I picture when thinking about local shopping in Provence. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by this vendor.
