Genuinely surprised to see this is rated any less than 4 stars! It was a fantastic meal with INCREDIBLE value. For 22€ you get a simple salad, great quality steak with a phenomenal dipping sauce, delicious thin-cut fries. Then you get the steak & fries all over again! No idea how it's 22€ with that quality of meat. The meal IS simple. In fact there is no menu. But they do what they do -- steak frites -- really well and there's no doubt about it!! I will say they go a LOT more rare than you say so I would ask for it more cooked (and then you'd probably get what you do want). I like my steak medium and definitely got it rare. I had to send it back more than once until I said okay just make it well done, and then it was perfectly medium. Not sure if this is a trait in all of the city, but pro tip! Enjoy. read more

. We just got back from l' Entrecote. Went on basis of a Yelp review, our first visit. Nestled amid a sea of carnival-type semi fast food joints, this is a unique and good prix-fixe' steak place. Style is butter-seared lightly cooked heavy beef back-strap; steak is then thin-sliced warm & returned to a lightly-seasoned molten butter filled chafing dish for diners to remove at their own pace so it stays WARM. Cautions: Make sure waitresses have your desired degree of done-ness accurately. Go early or face a long waiting-for-table que. Also, languages in-use are a patois, which we are very familiar with, but still got misunderstood. Confusing restrooms needed attention. Meal is good quality & good value. We skipped dessert for a. gelato place about 4 doors down. The gelato was primo. Were we living here, l' Entrecote would be on our "several-times-a-year" list. Rick . read more

There is no food menu: only one set-meal always. And redwineSirloin (entrecote) sliced in oily mustard sauce, with french fries and a salad consisting of salad leaves + dressing + walnuts. A very French experience. The meal: satisfying, I could not finish mine. This is a place where you REALLY get your stake as you asked for it. (If you usually order medium rare cuz you know it'll overcook a bit anyway, here is no need to do that). So the food is good, well made, but nothing exceptional. The wine: two types of red. The service: fast, good. The interior: SPOILS the entire experience. It's extremely bright inside: like drinking with a spotlight in your face. I love that place. I really like entrecôte and the fact that this place only serves it is really amazing! You only have 1 menu for 19€ that contains green salade, a steak and fries (as much as you want). The service is really good and not too slow. I personally am not a big fan of the decoration but that is just a small detail in front of the excellent food they serve All in all i really recommend that place. You won't regret it. read more

Everytime i read reviews for this restaurant i am shocked by the amount of negativity. For me this is not only a good restaurant, it is for me without doubt the best restaurant in the city and the region. I sometimes only come to montpellier just to eat here. God where to start? First of all on the contrary of what many people say the service is excellent. The staff is friendly and despite the constant huge amount of people eating here the food is always quick to arrive. There is no menu and only one "formule" but man what a formule! You start with a simple yet perfectly seasoned salad and then comes the star. A delicious meat with an outsanding persil sauce. The meat is perfectly cooked but what makes it so delicious is that unique sauce. On the side are also some amazing thin and crispy allumete fries that are unlimited. Finally i dont understand the nonsense that some people say that you have to eat a desert as ive maybe been here 20 times and only had maybe once or twice desert. The whole price is affordable for what it is and the decor is really nice and very french bistro style .Finally the only downside i can find to this establishement would be the crowd and even that is proof that the place is loved by locals and tourists alike. All i have to say in the end is run and dont walk here you wont regret it. read more
