A nice touch and probably common in German salons. Laura did a great job washing and blow drying my s in 4 stages and took extra time hair. See photos. Because it was close by to my hotel I booked it again for the next week but Laura was on vacation so I had Bert. Again a very friendly greeting from the staff and he immediately came over and introduced himself. I got the delicious café latte with a little cookie as I sat in the chair. I showed him photos of what I wanted my hair to look like. Then when we went to the shampoo bowl he offered me a treatment called Olaplex. It was a four step process and took extra time. This product comes in a set. I believe it is not for sale to the public here in Germany but perhaps in California on Amazon. After he put treatment number three on me he put a very warm wet towel over my entire head to sort of bake in the ingredients into my hair and cuticle. It is 30 more euros but I figured I might as well try something different. When we went back to the hair station and he started blowing out my hair I was astounded at how silky my hair was. Bert (Hubert) was a master stylist and spoke English very well although I did try my German on him. I will not hesitate to recommend the salon and also if you want your hair to be voluminous and silky I highly recommend this Ola Plex treatment.

This was my 8th time here and just like every other time I was more than satisfied…read more The interior of this salon is relaxing and has a natural appearance with the pictures of the wall. Before your haircut you will be asked if you would like a free drink of coffee, tea or water. All are very good. Then you go back and get your hair washed and get to watch a television with fish swimming and it is very relaxing. Then the haircut depends on what you would like. My haircuts are done professionally and even though my German skills are very good I know that the woman cutting my hair knows what I want. The owner is a very sweet woman and everyone that works there is very kind and you can tell they truly love their jobs because it shows. My haircut costs 26€ each time I go which might seem pricey but with everything you get it is totally worth it.

This was precisely what happened. I used to bleach my hair a lot and then had decided to be a brunette for about a year to give my hair a break. When I finally decided that I wanted to be blonde again, I chose this salon purely for the fact that I live on the street. I had been here once before for a hair-cut and I happen to walk by the salon every day, so I figured I would give it a shot when it came to highlights. I told the stylist that I wanted 12% to be used and she said that there was no way that she would ever use that high of a percentage on my hair. Even though I insisted that this is what I have used for years, she still would not do it. Instead, she said that she would use 9%. I figured that she's the expert here and agreed to whatever she wanted to do. She left the foils on my hair for a long time and would periodically come and check on them. She obviously knew that it wasn't turning out so well so she placed me under the dryer. Big mistake. When I would get 12%, I never went under a dryer. That's pretty much the kiss of death. The funniest part about the whole experience (not funny at the time) is that she ended up bringing me a poster with all those different hair color samples and asked me to "point out" which color I was looking for. This is what you do BEFORE you even have any chemicals on your hair, right? And she did do this when I first walked in and took my spot in the chair. So I pointed to exactly the same color that I had picked out initially. Not sure if she thought I had changed my mind. Obviously the issue was that she knew it wasn't turning out right and wanted to see just how off my expectations would be. A while later, she took me out from under the dryer and washed my hair. Clumps and clumps of hair had fallen out. I could feel it and could see the hair on her hands. So I said something to her about never having experienced so much hair loss in my life. Her response: "Well, I'm glad I didn't use the 12%." No, no, no. That was not the issue here. The issue was that she used a lower percentage, compensated by putting me under a dryer...and for a very long time. This all happened the Thursday before Easter 2012. To this date, my hair is still really crappy and is in the process of growing back. I have never had a worse hair experience in my life. The reason I'm giving it 2 stars, instead of 1, is because I did go back about a month or two later and told the girl that my hair was destroyed. She knew it and felt bad so she packed up a bag of ton of free full-size hair products--conditioner, shampoo, and smoothing products. That at least made me feel a little bit better.

She asked me how I wanted to have my brows done, but we ultimately decided to stick with the current shape. Procedure was quick (15 mins) and painless. She speaks English and German. Cash only, but it's located across a Sparkasse branch. Will be coming back for sure!

My research landed on HAIR-Reinspaziert and I won't lie: Junior had to be to the guinea pig first. :P Luckily, I chose well cause my son is very happy with the hair cuts he has been receiving and my first excursion into the field of touching up and coloring roots were to my satisfaction as well. ;) It is a bit inconvenient that they are closed on Mondays, but no show-stopper. I will be calling them tomorrow for our next appointments... ;)

It was very random for me to pop in for hair cut/beard trim at this barber shop in Düsseldorf. But…read morethe staff/barbers were very friendly. Service that they offer were the same as in Manhattan but the price they charge were much less. No appointment necessary though you may have to wait. They will serve you coffee while you wait. Recommend.
