This is not their creperie but rather a B&B. Sophie and Gilles Oustalet have restored and renovated a large 1850's private home, creating a B&B with four guest rooms. The restoration is nothing short of magnificent, bringing back elaborate plasterwork on the ceilings. The renovation side features modern bathrooms. The house sits on about one acre of beautiful gardens. It's like walking into a bit of paradise.
As this is included in Yelp's restaurant section, let me talk about the breakfast part of this B&B. One starts with fresh juice, fresh fruit with home made yogurt and cafe au lait. This is followed by croissant and warm baguette with seven different jams all made by Sophie with the various fruits produced in the garden: apricot, cherry, peach, plum, gooseberry, strawberry, a rare red peach and a citrus marmalade. Seeing our interest in the jams, Sophie also brought out a red peach compote and a grape jelly. We actually tried all ten. To top it off, there was a gooseberry "pouding" - a heavy cake with lots of eggs in the batter.
Sophie is a charming host who will provide many recommendations on places to eat and things to do. Elliot the little white scotty dog is always very welcoming.
Price for a a double room, breakfast included, is 82€ for 2. Considering the price, you're not likely to find a better place to stay. read more
