We were in town for a special occasion. Hungry and not knowing the area, we quickly stopped by La Antigua, and we did not regret it. They give you complimentary chips and salsa. A great starter. I ordered 3 street tacos and the Pollo Loco (chicken breast covered in cheese with rice, beans, guacamole, and tortillas). The street tacos were really good. Not as much meat, but for $1.39 each that's the best bang for your buck. The Pollo Loco was awesome. The chicken breast being sliced made it look thin. I wasn't really looking forward to thin chicken breast, but once I started eating, I was wrong. The chicken breast was moist, tender, and super flavorful. Add all the components in this bowl together (tortilla, chicken, cheese, rice, beans, avacado), and it creates a perfect and flavorful bite every time. I also had their Margarita. A large drink, a bit on the sweeter side, but again, it was not bad. Really good food for a great price, you can't go wrong here. The service was also nice. read more

This was a nice place we stopped for lunch while traveling through the area and we are happy we stopped. It is a smaller, stand alone building with decent parking available and a clean interior reminiscent of what one might expect from a traditional, family Mexican restaurant. Our server was quick and polite, taking our drink and appetizer order immediately. We ordered the La Antigua Sausage and Cheese dip that came out on a hot plate which we enjoyed every bite of, then followed up with our lunch plates. My partner ordered a taco salad that had ample fillings topped by a zesty cheese sauce, sour cream and guacamole. It was good enough that he did not use any salsa for "salad dressing". He said it more flavorful than a typical taco salad with a wider range of fresh ingredients. I strayed from my usual Mexican dish choices and ordered a beef chimichanga, with sides of beans and rice, that was delicious. I put a little salsa and sour cream on my beans and devoured them using some of the warm, delicious, crisp, fresh tasting tortilla chips that were originally brought to the table. My partner chuckled when I made little sounds of enjoyment with every few bites. My chimichanga was even better, with nicely seasoned beef and a light cheese sauce that complimented the overall flavor instead of taking over the whole dish. The only drawback was that even after I was well and truly full, I still wanted to keep enjoying a few more bites. If you are in the mood for a nice lunch with friends, and/ or family. We went off on online menu which apparently was wrong so we got charged double what the price was on the menu we ordered,told them about it they still wouldn't honor the right price and the food portion was twice as small as any other restaurant we have been to in muskogee. read more

Standard Mexican menu options, fast friendly service, served up in typical a well-used interior, small town restaurant building. The food tasted as good as it looks in the pictures. The red sauce on the enchiladas was definitely not from a can. Very good. The chicken in Pollo Loco was prepared just the way I like it. Two thin chicken breasts, lightly seasoned, browned on the flat top grill and covered with queso. On the negative side it was served with a canned pickled jalapeno. I bet if I had asked for a fresh chile toreado they would have done that instead. The service was good. Several different waiters checked on us during the meal. And another positive I liked is the big drink glasses. The menu item "La Joya" looked great...next visit. Good fresh hot food. Good service! I'm happy with it! read more

Wow! Ate at La Antuqua's tonight for the first time and we highly recommend! Excellent Mexican food! My husband and I had a shrimp taco, beef taco, and shredded chicken nachos. Food was plentiful, fresh, and well seasoned. Employees were friendly, attentive, and very efficient. Margarita was great. Menu had plenty to choose from and everything was reasonably priced. I do not know how people do not know about this place. They have some of the best Mexican food I have had. They had plenty of staff working and they checked on my wife and I several times and made sure we were doing fine. This place is hands down the best Mexican food in Muskogee! read more

Keep this in mind, my mother, husband, and I do not normally go to La Antigua on a Wednesday night, but it was a special occasion, my relatives from the Carolina's have been visiting us this week, so we decided on that for dinner (originally we were going to go at lunch, but the parking lot was full). But we made it and got a table for 6.(after the hubby got off work). I had the fajitas Hawaiian, my mother and husband had the enchiladas Yucatan(mom had chicken, husband had ground beef). One aunt had Hawaiian burrito, my uncle had the Hawaiian burrito, and I think my aunt had an enchilada dish. Everyone seemed to have a nice time and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back on a quieter night of the week, when there is not a dj there. read more

After trying another Mexican restaurant in the area and being disappointed, we were so happy to find La Antigua! The salsa was so good! We had the Enchiladas Mexicanas and the Molcajete Mexicano. Both were delicious. There are so many dishes on the extensive menu that we would like to try. The service was impeccable, the portions were large for such a reasonable price. I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance of La Antigua and their amazing Mexican food. In the past three years I've been here at least 20 times and the food is always tasty and the staff attentive. Portions are large and filling. My go-tos are the burrito Mexicano and the La Antigua Special. read more

Im only giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly. The margarita was a premade bland mix from The machine. I ordered an extra shit to try and make it better. My little cousin ordered tacos and after 2 bites said he didn't want them. He's not super picky either so I knew something was up. Then my nachos came covered in ice berg lettuce, queso, and the meat but mostly lettuce and sour cream. They were sub par at best. As soon as we made it to the parking lot, my cousin projectile vomited. He was fine before and fine after. I wouldn't recommend this to any people, but my dog did at least eat the rest of his taco. read more

First experience here was excellent. I went all-in with a friend and just told the waiter to order us two of his favorite items on the menu. If I go back, I'll try out the $1 tacos. Nacho's were watery, and my chips were floating around in 1/4 inch of water, can't explain why. Pollo loco was too greasy. Wait staff did a good job. Was in too much a hurry to complain. read more

Extremely delicious, they have so many options to choose from but my personal favorite is the Erica Special. They are friendly and almost always correctly serve your order, but if you need something it WILL be brought to you. My only complaint is the bathrooms, they could use a renovation but are otherwise fine. read more

My family has been a fan of Bukanas from day one. Being a business owner I understand all the difficulties of running a business. First off the food is hands down amazing and authentic. Traveling to Mexico and coming here is very similar. Jose and Jerry always get us to try new things and it's amazing. I try my best to order different items so I'm not like those individuals that says they love it but only eats one dish. Service is always good and see the heart the owner has to make sure everyone is taken care of. As this business grows and new servers come in I see the potential of the restaurant growing. I went in with my wife for a weekday lunch. The food was good. The service was good. I noticed that a couple of our friends were there, a coworker of my wife and her husband, so I decided to pay for their lunch as a surprise. They had a different experience. Later on that day my wife tells me that the other couple found a hair in their food so what the server did was takes the food to the back. Then brings the same plate of food back out. Then the manager comes over and says that he's going to comp their meal. This is the same guy that I payed taking credit for paying for the meal that I payed for. It doesn't sound like a really honest way to run a business so I think they just lost customers. I like to support local businesses but this is not how you operate. read more

Don't expect a well prepared Corona. The server brought a glass rimmed with table salt and a lime wedge and say a bottle of Corona next to it. By no means is this a bad thing, but it just how I'm used to having Coronas served to me. The regular salsa they bring it with the chips is not spicy. I asked for a different salsa and they brought out one that looked thicker and lime it could be spicier by the evident seeds in it, but the kick in this one was not that much more. I finally asked for something spicier and she brought out a green one. Now this one was better. Not unbearable, but next time I'm asking for this one from the get go. The food itself should get 5 stars with no doubt. Our table of 5 tried several different things. The battered shrimp was good. The batter was not bland, but it let the flavor of the shrimp come through just fine. The chicken, cheese, and ground beef enchiladas were very good to. The cheese sauce, green sauce, and red sauce were very tasty on top of the enchiladas. The ground beef nachos were plentiful and also very delicious. The ground beef was well seasoned. Overall the food made this visit quite worth it. The service lacked a little focus. Everyone was very nice, but our chips bowl was Emory for a while. And when I asked for more paper towels the server came back with more salsa. Not sure that it was a language barrier so much as she just misheard but she was very nice so it was forgiven. All in all, our entire party enjoyed the food and the entire visit. I would have considered 5 starts had it not been for the Corona, the slightly unfocused service, and little attention that we got. Save your appetite for a good Mexican Restaurant, this one really is not a good place to go. The atmosphere is a hole in the wall, the waitress is not efficient. The food was straight out of a can or package, nothing even cooked, just a bit of a warm up. I ordered the green chili enchilada, just a luke warm wrap up of some boiled chicken no seasoning, no cheese, and the green chili was straight out of a can not even hot, served with some very bland rice and a bit of ice berg lettuce, a slice of tomato and something they called guacamole but didn't taste like any guacamole we have ever had, I think it was that stuff in a package you just add a bit of water to, it was whipped and had a very strange taste and looked a bit odd as well. I looked over at my son and his girl friends meal and much the same, not even warmed up tortillas and just barely warmed up a bit, to take the chill off. Very expensive for can prepackaged and very poor quality of food. $35 dollars too much, been better off at a fast food joint. All the while the management were watching a spainish tv program.
