Line was out the door at 2 pm on a Friday but went by fast. Had the almond croissant and large 16 oz coffee for $10.35 including that 4% Living Wage. IT would have been cool if I had the croissant warmed up but not sure if they do this. Both were good and my coffee hit the spot.

I mistakenly posted this for another cafe instead of the La Baguette cafe in a Yelp review back in March. This spot is a must-try if you are in the mood for a scrumptious apple danish! It was a perfect complement to a hot cup of coffee in the morning at Stanford Shopping Center. They also have an impressive selection of other baked goods and custom cakes. There are no indoor seats, but ample tables right outside to enjoy fresh air and people watch.

La Baguette is one of the oldest cafes in the Stanford shopping center. This place is always pretty crowded and from the windows you can see they have all kinds of yummy pastries. We love to come by to get a coffee and some dessert whenever we are shopping here and they never disappoint.

I was here for a stroll with the family. We got a little hungry so we decided to grab something to eat. La Baguette was close to the center of Stanford Shopping Center and that's where we were so here we are. The inside was pretty small, you can probably fit about 5-6 people in line and that's squeezing everyone. You don't have anywhere to sit, however there are some outdoor seating available so ya. It's more or less a take it to go type of a place. The service is well, not much. Besides them taking your order, they tell you to wait outside of the place at a designated pick up location and that's about it. I got the: Turkey Parisian (4 / 5) - The cheese is melted inside along with your turkey. There are lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on the side where you may use them however as you wish. The French Baguette has a little bit of sugar powder sprinkled on top of it. It does give the overall presentation a better look and with it, a different taste with sweetness and saltiness at the same time. I liked the combination of how they've done it, but this mix of taste is really personal preference in my humble opinion. Service (3/5) - I can't say they were friendly. There were three or four people behind the counter, they want you to wait outside on the side of the store. If you didn't know where it is like me, you better not ask twice because the "evil look" is coming! I can't imagine anyone's a big fan of that, haha. If you end up here in Stanford Shopping Center, you really don't have much of a choice on food and the selection of restaurants are limited. Yes, be ready to shell out the big bucks because you are in one of the most expensive part of this country with not much choices and guess what? The restaurants themselves know it too. Woe is us, bleh~

Came in for a quick snack while at Stanford. Got a Ham & Swiss Parisian for my boyfriend and I to share. Even though the shop was pretty crowded the sandwich was ready in just a couple minutes - it was premade and just needed to be warmed up. It was a very simple sandwich, I kinda wished it had an aioli or something, but if you want something super simple it's a great option! They had a really great selection of pastries and desserts, everything looked so pretty and delicious! Since we had dinner plans we just got the sandwich, but definitely would like to grab some of the sweets next time I'm here! The shop is pretty small and there's no seating inside, but plenty outside!

This bakery cafe seems very popular, often with lines out the door. Their advantage is clearly location, at a central location within Stanford Shopping Center, with a lot of foot traffic. I decided to stop by when it was quieter and there wasn't much wait. I ordered a 12 oz Caramel Macchiato ($6.30). The coffee was average. Perhaps their food is better. I didn't pick up any pastries or cakes during this visit because we were heading to lunch elsewhere. They add a 4% Palo Alto living wage fee to all orders. No seating or restrooms inside. There are some tables outside.

I stopped off here to get dinner to go I got the half sandwich soup deal Clam chowder n and turkey n cheese sandwich on a baguette. Service was very nice.

Located in Stanford Mall with nice outdoor seating. The cakes were decent overall, a bit sweet for my taste, and the tiramisu was very creamy. Coffee took some time, likely due to how busy it was, but the cakes came out right away.

Do you ever look at yelp and go somewhere and wonder how in the world that place got a low or high rating? Well, that is the case here at La Baguette. Currently they have about a 3.5 star rating but this is at least a 4.5 star place! The quality of their pastries and desserts and sandwiches is top-notch. If you have ever been to Paris like I have, you know that the quality of what they bake is on par with what you might find there. Probably a touch sweeter to match the American palette. But oh so good. FOOD: they have a really wonderful selection of both sweets and sandwiches. Especially for such a small corner shop, they do a very impressive job of providing lots of different options. So far, everything we've had has been really good. We've tried their danishes, their poundcake, their cookies, and some of their sweet treats. This is also my daughter's favorite place to get a sandwich! Try the ham and Swiss Parisian. SERVICE: considering the volume that they do every day and the quick turnaround, I'd have to say that their service is excellent. I have always felt paid attention to even though there is a line out the door every single time. They really take care of you and provide you with wonderful food COST: surprisingly, this place is very affordable. More affordable than places I have been to in France! Overall, you really can't go wrong coming here.

I can't remember how many years it has been since I had my first Strawberry Romanoff but it is still top of mind if I am headed to the Stanford mall. It is strawberries and cream on steroids!

12inch Raspberry & Chocolate Mousse Cake

I've been coming to La Baguette for over a decade, and they truly make the best looking AND tasting cakes. The quality is consistently exceptional, and their flavor combinations are always thoughtful and perfectly balanced. Most recently, we ordered the Raspberry & Chocolate Mousse which is: a layer of chocolate chiffon cake, chocolate mousse, white chiffon cake, and raspberry mousse, topped with raspberry jam and fresh raspberries. It was absolutely beautiful, ready right on time, and tasted even better than it looked. We ordered the 12-inch, and it was perfect. The owner is incredibly kind and was so helpful in bringing my vision to life. They always have stunning cakes available in-store, and ordering online is seamless and easy as well. Highly recommend!!!! They have lovely places to sit outside too + their savory items are also delicious. A must go!!

I'm extremely forgiving when it comes to macarons. Sure, I have my favorites, but it doesn't ruffle my feathers if some are made differently than the standard. I've come to La Baguette a couple times for theirs which are certainly an anomaly in the world of meringue sandwich cookies. Taller, fluffier, & more airy than I'm used to which means they also aren't as chewy as I like. Much stronger flavor profiles when I purchased pistachio, lavender, lemon, & chocolate on my first visit. The raspberry & red velvet had a lighter taste which makes me reconsider visiting for a third time. Who am I kidding? The after-lunch sweet craving will pull me back into La Baguette again, I'm sure.

    Poor customer services?

No I've been there twice since just started working at Stanford. Got my items. They boxed them & they tasted awesome. Went back today & will go back tomorrow.

There's a beautiful outdoor area in the back with tons of tables. Even though it was super busy, we still had our choice of a few tables, and the foliage/patio umbrellas make it nice and shady. Our food was also delicious! We got: Prosciutto and egg sandwich - eggs were super light and fluffy, and the sandwich was well balanced and cheesy too! Fat and fluffy French toast - such a generous portion and the berries and whipped cream were so yummy! The toast itself had crispy edges and was super fluffy! They have such a large menu too and I'll definitely be back to try more!

Mid week brunch meant a quieter atmosphere and open seating. After perusing the menu we ordered at the counter before sitting at a table after picking up utensils and water. We ordered Fambrini's Breakfast, Brie & Mushroom Omelette, Crab Omelette, and shares the Lotus Biscoff Pancakes. Everyone loved their egg platters. The eggs were perfectly light and fluffy. I generally avoid omelettes getting scrambles instead because restaurants tend to overcook the eggs. Our dishes were prepared with quality and flavor in mind. I personally had the crab omelette and left no crumbs behind. The potatoes were well seasoned and wish I had enough room in my tummy to finish them off! The drip coffee was bold and delicious not watered down at all! Finally, we shared the 2 stack biscoff pancakes for a sweet finish. The pancakes were bouncy with biscoff sauce and a mound of whipped cream. This was mouth wateringly delicious. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but this was so yummy. This isn't a traditional sit down service but counter staff were friendly and efficient. There is a small parking lot off to the side and there is indoor and patio seating. Come by for a meal and you won't be disappointed! I wish I lived closer so I could taste the rest of their meal. Kudos and thanks for an awesome meal!
