My kids born in USA from French parents love this carousel…read more Typical "modern" French carousel with cars, moving plane, helicopter, space shuttle, truck, etc. My kids love the old-style American carousels with horses, but I suspect they have a preference for the French ones, particularly when you can play the "ponpon" game: grabbing a dangling "ponpon" and winning a free ride. Alain Joly is the friendly owner and operator of the carousel.

This is a well-done aquarium and a bit off the beaten track for visitors to San Sebastián (Donosti,…read morein Basque). Suggestion: start at far end of La Concha beach and curl around to the other end, where the aquarium sits (see map). You'll have to pass near some great tapas or pintxos bars, which is not a bad thing, ever. Some of the fish seem friendly, others downright scary, judging from squeals of children (only drawback, in this enclosed space). A great place to go on a hot day. I highly recommend it, for both the walk and the viewing of the exhibits. My favorites are the medusas (jellyfish) and the baby tiburones (sharks), which one can watch being born (see photo). I walked back to several areas to view again.

Overall, I would recommend the aquarium to everyone just be prepared to take your time if you get anxious around a lot of people (like me).

The museum portion gives you a glimpse of Biarritz past. My sons loved it! As stated it is small but well worth a trip!

We enjoyed walking around the mountaintop and taking in all the spectacular views of San Sebastian and the coast. We also enjoyed getting some spritzes at the bar and sipping on them with the ultimate view. Without the rides it's not a place you'll spend too much time, but still worth the visit for the views and a ride on the historic funicular. Would love to come back and go on some rides in the future.
