Todo es casera! It's all homemade food! For me, that's all I'd need to hear.
Needless to say, everything was delicious, fresh, and expertly rendered. We had originally planned to eat at a different place that was overbooked, but we are so glad we ended up at Barra del Musico!
Our server was extremely sweet and helpful, speaking slowly in Spanish for me when I was too tired to keep up with quick speech.
My husband loved his mix of croquetas, including rabo de toro (ox tail), jamon iberico, pollo curry, and bacalao (cod).
My empanadas were delicious, very high quality ingredients that I could tell were homemade. The crust was so flaky and perfect! I also had a house salad that was disappointingly all iceberg lettuce (zero nutritional content) with some tomatoes.
My son had some of the croquetas and chicken fingers (the only thing I doubted was homemade). He also had high quality patatas bravas.
We all shared patatas with chorizo type ham/bacon and a delicious cheese-garlic sauce. It was so delicious and satisfying! One of the best dishes I had on the trip! All homemade and high quality food!
My son finished his meal with good quality strawberry ice cream. I didn't have time to ask if it was also casera but it was high quality nonetheless.
We spoke (Spanish) with other patrons at the table next to us who were very kind friends of the chef, so we got to thank and compliment the chef too.
Highly recommended! Hecho con amor! read more
