An enthusiastic THUMBS UP for La Tranquera. They were rather full on a Sunday afternoon, and yet…read morethey seated us anyway at a great table.
The empanadas were amazing! I grew up eating my aunt's empanadas, and I thought I knew how empanadas should taste. As soon as La Tranquera's empanadas arrived at our table, I forgot every other empanada I have ever eaten. These delicious, light and airy pockets of perfection are the new standard for me.
We had one of each flavor, and while they were all incredible, the carne criolla one was my favorite.
We also had a delicious bowl of samorejo, a creamy, cold tomato soup with tiny pieces of jamon and delicate slices of hard boiled egg. First time for me, but I am a convert.
Great food, friendly service, welcoming atmosphere.
All in all, a wonderful experience.
