Wow, really delicious! I was worried about finding a new good taco place after moving to the area - but La Bodega hit the spot. I ordered the carne asada tacos on corn tortillas. The steak was tender, juicy, and really well seasoned/marinated. Loved that the tacos came with a salsa verde. I also had churros and they were delicious as well. This place stands out on E Carson St, it's simple and aesthetically pleasing just like their food. I prefer La Bodega than some other fast taco places in South Side. Loooovvvee the prices and how late this place stays open. The pescado (shrimp) taco and carne asada (flank steak) taco are highly recommended, I always get the mexi-way and you get the choice between corn or flour tortilla. Very friendly service and helpful staff warm and welcoming. You can ask questions about the menu. We ordered pico, queso, and guacamole very good starting apps and the guacamole was clean and fresh. I could bathe in the queso. I ordered the ranchero burrito and the ramen. They burrito was flavorful and delicious. The ramen didn't have any meat in it it was salty but also very delicious and something different. Churros were warm and crispy. Loved this place will be going back. read more

Ordered late night on door dash. I got the box with the Carnitas and Picadillo tacos. I wish there was some kind of hot sauce they included (there were no options to write any mods on doordash). The chips did come with salsa which I used for the tacos as well. The churros with the sauce were definitely the best part. read more

I ordered from here off Uber eats and was really disappointed. I ordered churros which were hard as a rock and drowning in sugar. I also ordered taqitos darado and it was not for me. It tasted more like Greek food then Mexican food. I ate half of one and I didn't enjoy it at all. There was no Mexican flavor at all and no spice. Nice addition to Carson St. Bright,clean, and cool environment with well thought-out atmosphere and branding. The food is fresh and made mostly right in front of you. My burrito box was great. It had a huge burrito, chips and salsa and several churros. All were delicious. I can't pronounce my burrito so I'll call it the Q. It was filled with lots of good stuff. I first noticed all the cool signage and merchandise when I walked into the store, but this was deceiving. The food itself was so bland, not to mention it took about 15mins to get a burrito and 2 tacos with nobody in line in front of me. I can't imagine what it would be like on a busy night in southside. The burrito I ordered was just a sloppy mess and nearly impossible to eat by hand. Once I whipped out a fork and knife to dive in, I quickly realized that the meat was way over cooked, everything was lacking flavor or seasoning, and the tortilla had turned soggy from all the toppings they piled on (I'd recommend putting these on the side for to-go orders at least). I hope this place can work out some of these kinks. I'll probably wait a few months then go back to give it one more shot. For now, I'll stick with Doce Taqueria. read more

As a Mexican-American I really do appreciate a good taco. Although, was funny to see "non-Mexican" people cooking tacos! So I tried most of the tacos. The "Chorizo" one was more like "chorizo style" instead of actual chorizo. The "Carne Asada" ... bland. But the one I love to eat was the "Pollo Asado" and "Pescado", those were my top favorites. read more

Me and my towns wanted Mexican food and stumbled upon this place. When I say that this is some of the best Mexican food I've had I mean it. We both got Birria tacos and they were so tender and seasoned to perfection. The consomé was also so good. Had some onions and cilantro in it and completed the tacos perfectly. We both got watermelon aguas Frescas and we chucked them. They tasted like actual watermelon and not artificial one bit. They were so refreshing. With the tacos we got an order of the fries with queso. First I can't say enough about the queso. It was delicious and seasoned to perfection. The fries were thick and also seasoned so well. To finish off our meal we got an order of churros. My friend legitimately said she hasn't had a churro as good as that one since she was 5. They can with a side of dolce de Leche sauce and it was a great combo. I 10/10 recommend this place if you want some solid Mexican food for a fair price!! read more

This place is soooo good. Easily the best south side late night (or anytime) food spot. Kat and Nelly were awesome. They were super patient with my friend who asked a million questions about the menu. They were also hilarious which made the short wait even shorter. And they served up some delicious quesadillas! The food was pretty good so no complaint there but as a restaurant, if you are going to be open late in South Side with a security guard, you should probably find a more mentally stable guard especially if you are going to allow him to carry a gun. I don't think I've ever been more disturbed then to hear a guard scream "I'll shoot you if you reach for my gun again" when the guy, clearly drunk, was trying to talk and make a joke with the guard. Then to watch the guard, not 5 minutes later, literally start to chase down a guy he had gotten into an argument with only to stop his run when the cops showed up and proceed to basically lie out his teeth with some story about the guy he almost chased. End of story is: might go back for the food but definitely won't while that guard working. read more
