Absolutely delicious place for tapas in Granada! They brought us olives with our drinks, and we enjoyed the jamon iberico, the croquetas, some steak (we ordered the grilled pork shoulder, but the beef was delicious!). The wines by the glass were all lovely options, but you do get what you pay for. Get the more expensive option of the Duero del Ribera. We did not have reservations, but we were there early-ish (8:30PM) on a Monday, so it wasn't a problem. read more

Our first day in Granada, my wife and I decided to have dinner at La Botillería. For starters, they brought out complimentary chicken in sauce. It was very tasty. We ordered the tomato, and the grilled lamb chops (we ordered 4). Tomatoes came cut in pieces and with olive oil, salt and pepper over top. The olive oil doubled as my dipping for the complimentary bread served at the start. Both good and recommended. For our main course, we had ox tails, and a leg of lamb. Both very healthy portions. The leg of lamb was huge, I couldn't finish. Both recommended, especially the ox tail. Overall, 5 stars. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Seeing the high Yelp reviews we took a chance on our 2nd night in Granada. 2 tinto de verano and 2 free mini sliders w a little bit of fries. We ordered 2 croquettes, foie gras pate and the roasted leg of lamb. Omg the lamb, probably is the best leg of lamb I had. The waitress was very proud of the authentication it came with. If you don't like to eat lamb plain, you will probably not like this. This was just a simple roasted leg of lamb with a few cloves of garlic and salt. Nothing else! Moist tender lamb with some crispy skin mixed with the jus from roasting - heavenly. Probably one of the best pieces of lamb I had. Wish I can go back again! read more

The best meal we've had so far in Spain! We started with a beer which came with complimentary tapas of olives and curry chicken -- creamy and very flavorful. Next came the salmon salad with smoked salmon, avocado, tomato, and fish eggs which was incredibly refreshing. We also got the fried artichoke, it was pretty good but the sauce was a bit sweet? The star of the show was the lamb leg as recommended by previous yelp reviews. The most succulent, well-flavored, and delicious lamb any of us have had -- a must try. Our taxi driver took us here when we asked for a good restaurant. So glad he did because it was definitely memorable.... Great service, excellent food and free tapas!! We had the recommended house red wine and sangria . Ordered their house salad and it was a meal on its own. Loved finally getting a good salad in Spain. Then our hostess recommended the special of the day - leg of baby lamb. I did have to not let how it got to my plate bother me ! It was served crispy n so tender . Husband's prime rib came with fries and vegetables and was good. Requested olive oil and got bread with oil drizzled on it for a cost. Cheese plate was nice as was complimentary chicken tapas Worst part was we were rushed. Food came out on top of appetizers. We were so fortunate to stumble into La Botillería after our original bar was closed. The bartender was so kind and made us feel at home. She gave her recommendations for wine and let us try it before we committed to a glass. The first tapa they brought out was incredible! It was thin, grilled pork with mayo and it came with a side of small fries and tomatoes. It was heaven. I would come back alone for the French fries. The second tapa was cod with a yummy tomato sauce and a side of bread and a slaw. The sauce made the entire meal, it complimented the fish perfectly. Our bartender suggested the fried artichoke and they were unlike anything I've ever tasted. They were lightly breaded and the sauce on top was a combination of balsamic and maple syrup. The ambiance and service are really classy. We found here because of the high review score. But the food was really over salty and unappetizing. We ordered cold tomato soup, it was way too salty to make my throat hurt. Served bread we didn't order, but charged on the bill. The lamb leg was over salty and dry. They spoke some English and the menu on the website can be translated to English or several other languages. We ordered 2 dishes recommended by the waiter: lamb chops and roasted leg of lamb, although I thought I was ordering skirt steak, but that was my mistake due to the language barrier. Both dishes were very good, but can be a bit salty and both came with French fries. They give you a small cup of salty olives as a free appetizer and I could not stop eating them. Two things I did not like. The waiter brought out two small loaves of bread I thought were free and were not ordered and they charged for it. We asked for some olive oil to dip the bread (which were hard) and they brought two small plastic samples and charged for it. While the place was nice and the food was good, I would not go back because there are just too many similar places and I did not like being charged for something that should have been free. Being in Granada you can be overwhelmed by the tapas options. We discovered La Botilleria and had some drinks and Tapas. The drinks, food and service was so good that we returned at night with the kids for more tapas and dinner. Tomato salad was out of this world, jamon, lamb all were excellent. We ordered wines and fortified wines that we were not sure if they were good. The waiter, without us asking, allowed us to try wines before committing. I am not sure if it is common in Andulcía region and whether others felt the same treatment, but it seems like most places ignore us once they noticed that we are of Asian descent. This place and their waiters treats us with equal service as other skin tones. We received one complementary tapas per drink. The comp tapas were lovely and tastier than other places we have been. In most bars and restaurants, you would need to sit by the bar to get a free tapas with drink order. At La Botilleria, you get a generous tapas on the house with drink order. We got this very tasty braised beef tapas. It was so good that my friend literally licked the plate clean. For dinner, we ordered: -tomato burrata and marinated salmon salad (4 stars) - flavours were nice and simple. It was a typical dish that we often have back home. It was good but nothing outstanding. -black pudding lasagna (5 stars) - Unique. Tasted sweet. -tuna special of the day (4 stars) - we liked the vegetable pairing. It was nicely cooked but it had a bit of fishy taste. We thought the grilled tuna we had in this afternoon was better. -pheasant pate with truffle (5 stars) - I couldn't taste the truffle but the pairing with this sweet sauce makes it a bit unique. One of the best meals we had in Spain. They were amazingly accommodating and seated a large party of nine inside the restaurant (it was on the earlier side around 6 pm). We ordered tapas and meals. The complimentary house tapa was a mustard chicken - extremely flavorful. We ordered two different artichoke tapas, chicken fingers, and a salad. Our meals included the sirloin (a bit on the rare side but they were so gracious and cooked it a bit more for us), the orange salmon (salmon cooked to perfection with a delicious Seville orange glaze) and the highly recommended baby leg of lamb. We thought it was the best lamb we have had. But the shrimp risotto was the most memorable dish of the evening - the most amazing risotto any of us had ever have. The waitress completely ignored me several times, only addressing my friend who is lighter skinned and fluent in Spanish. My sister and I ordered a glass of red Spanish wine from the Rioja region and my husband ordered a glass of Cruzcampo Cerveza, a local Spanish beer from Sevilla. After our drinks were poured a waiter served us the traditional plate of free tapas. Our first tapas were a dish of olives and a plate of mini burger sliders and papas fritas. Man, I am super torn about La Botillería. Everything I ordered was amazing. Everything my fiancee ordered was hot garbage. Going in, you should know these are NOT tapas. Everything is a pretty big portion. We ordered too much food. For me, the white jamon was p.h.e.n.o.m.e.n.a.l. A half-portion was 7 €. It came with bread drizzled in olive oil. Heavenly. I also had the skewered chicken (10.50 €) with mushrooms and cheese sauce. Simply mind-blowing. Every chunk of chicken was juicy and flavorful. I loved it. It came with grilled green peppers and red onions and some awesome french fries. My fiancee struck out hard, though. She tried the battered artichokes (9.90 €) and they were basically inedible. They tasted like nothing except the breading. She also ordered the chicken fingers with mustard sauce (9.90 €) Again, the most flavorless nightmare that has ever been thrust upon chicken. She also tried the cheese balls (1.75 € each, minimum of two.) and they were fried, battered, flavorless disasters. They tasted like cotton balls. All three of my fiancee's terrible dishes came off the "hot starters" menu, so I guess you should avoid that like the plague. Our waiter was not good. We asked for second glasses of wine that never game until we reminded him again ten minutes later. He also dropped a wrong plate of food in front of us - one that contained baby eels (vomit). I almost tasted one, thinking they were noodles, but he luckily recognized the error before I bit into one. If you ordered what I did, you would think La Botillería can do no wrong. If you order what my fiancee did, you would think La Botillería was conceived in a laboratory to make humans hate what they put in their mouths. Bizarre. read more

This a great tapas spot just beyond Plaza Nueva in Granada. The tables indoors require reservations, but walk up seating is available at the bar or outside the restaurant. You get a free tapa with a drink. I ordered the croquettes, prawn risotto, and a ham soup. The meal also comes with bread and the restaurant has a very good wine selection. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very relaxing. Note that if you are seated outdoors, you may get a couple of solicitors during your meal (two guys tried to sell me purses). Since it was Granada, we got a complimentary appetizer which was a tuna dish. It was awesome. As an additional appetizer, I ordered a Castellana soup. It is a garlicky chicken soup with a dash of sweet paprika, ham, egg, and croutons. In my opinion, it was probably a little hit or miss based on your personal tastes. For me, it was not bad but not great either. For my entrée, I ordered a steak. It was solid. The meat was chewy and tender. On the other hand, I asked for medium rare. Some parts were medium but most of it was medium rare. Overall, it was a good steak. Others in our group ordered the salmon salad. I tried a little. It was more like a salmon tartare stack with avocado. The presentation was exceptional. The fish was fresh but a bit salty.
