I absolutely LOVED this restaurant! The staff is all Italian and I felt like I was in Italy. Our waiter was so friendly and it was so much fun conversing with him in Italian. The atmosphere is great and we were even having conversations with the French couple sitting next to us which added to the experience of being in France. Our waiter served us a complimentary apéritif of cheese with prosciutto wrapped around it and drizzled with olive oil. It was delicious and such a nice surprise! We ordered the Rudy Charcuterie which was outstanding! I ordered the Lolo pizza which has tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala, and basil, which was delicious! I have tried a few other pizza places in France and this is the closest to true Italian pizza. The cappuccinos were delicious as well!! While in France, I ordered a cappuccino every day from different places, and this one was one of few that tasted exactly like a true cappuccino. It's an excellent place to eat pizzas. We were there pretty late (something like 9.30pm) but they didn't hesitate a minute to give us a table. Choosing a pizza is not a piece of cake because they all look good! I took a Noa and it was very lovely. The one taken by my girl was delicious too. We also took a glass of wine that was basic but matched well with the pizza. And I didn't feel to pay too much for this quality so it's 5/5 for me :) read more

Once upon a time, Pizzeria La Bottega was a reference in Lille, it truly was the best Pizza in Lille. How ever, times have past, lost of success has past over these floors. And remarkably, our last diner on Monday was absolutely awfull!!! The pizza was cold, ( Luke warm), by the time it got to us. The pizza dough, I don't know who told them this was a good idea, but stone hard being sandy at same time. Whole wheat for a pizza dough is a bad idea, don't be hipster but : taste! ( Whole wheat isn't fine enough to make a dough, it's only good for bread!) The China, cutlery, and glasses clearly look and feel over used. As did the interior.. it's getting really dated, borderline tasteless, and the cleanliness at beginning of service, let's say I had question marks. They have become the victim of their own success... ( Although I cld forgive All these ' it's well used, dated' remarks if the pizza was top, but sadly) We want the old La Bottega back, with a cosy and lively human ambiance and the out of this world pizzas, the wonderfully though they had and now has disappeared. They still have a fantastic Italian specialties shop around the corner and two other. And two other Italian restaurants in Lille. I would advice to pass on La Bottega Pizzeria, and go to their other resto's that have a different menue. ( Don't order the pizza if it's that God awfull dough though) but get some other Italian dish, it's better :) read more

The French seem to love Italian food because it is everywhere. This restaurant seemed very popular and was very crowded. The pizza's were the traditional Italian style. Not like American pizza, which is a very good thing for. They have a full bar as well. And we had tiramisu for dessert it was great. No to go boxes if you don't finish your food. They don't do that here. I'm told that is an American thing. read more

The pizza is great - baked just enough so that the texture is slightly crispy and never overdone. The combination of toppings go well together and are always fresh. The restaurant is quite large but it can get busy on the weekend. I've only had to wait 45 min at most on the weekend without a reservation. It's not exactly an intimate setting because it can get quite loud but it's nice for a family outing or casual date. Overall, one of my favorite places to eat in Lille. One minor set back is my experience eating outside. La Bottega is located in a very cute alleyway that is unfortunately frequented by beggars when the weather is nice. The two times I've eaten outside, I had to shoo them away but the second time, I had to insist. It reached the point where the beggar touched our pizza! All hell broke loose. Kidding, but it would have if they continued. Never saw that happen... Maybe because we ignored him for a while? Disturbing my boyfriend while eating is a no no, touching his food is like taking food away from a wild animal. Once they realized it, they walked away. It ruined my appetite and left a sour taste in my mouth. It would be nice if the servers took initiative to curb them to prevent this kind of experience. It was not too busy at this time and they were standing around. Although I'm reluctant, more than likely, I will be back but not before the sour taste is gone! read more

Best pizza that I have ever had! Our entire party had a pizza each, so did not try anything else. But, who cares! Just get a pizza, really! In Beautiful old town Lille. Service was great! There were parties that had children, and a couple of bigger groups as well. Busy for a week night, so plan ahead if a week end. read more
