The ambience is awesome, dimly lit with lively music bumping. Not only is the environment lively, the food and drinks are AWESOME. I sat at the self seating bar as I was dining solo. The bartender, very friendly guy, took my order. Forgot his name but he is a good looking guy, which sort of fits the upscale scene. Every table gets complimentary salsa tray which I presume has avocado salsa, verde, mocajete, and limes. The salsas were DELICIOUS. I do wish they gave some complimentary chips along with it. Everything I ordered: Carne asada burrito, substitute beans with rice - 9/10. Was very delicious especially when accompanied with the salsas. For the drinks: Oaxaca Old Fashioned - 10/10. I love old fashioneds and they nailed it here. Instead of whiskey, they use mezcal which was delicious. Agave Spritz - 10/10. Mezcal with prosecco. Fantastic. No words. The only thing I would recommend to the restaurant is including prices of the cocktails on the menu. After finishing eating I had no idea what the damage would be but it turned out to be very reasonable, $13 per cocktail. I wish I gave this place a shot earlier during my work trip, but anyhow if I am ever back in town, this is in my highly recommended list of restaurants. They also had one projector screen showing the World Cup game. They also have Happy Hour 3-6 PM. Parking is plentiful, shared with the rest of the plaza. Would I come back? You bet.

My go-to dish here is the steak dinner, which comes with rice, beans, guacamole, and a baked potato. I was impressed with the portion sizes, and the quality of the food. It felt like home cooking. The service was decent here, it was efficient and the staff here was friendly. The overall experience was great, and it was a good place to dine before calling it a night. I haven't had a change to come here as often, due to the fact that San Luis Rio Colorado sits 5 hours away from me. But given the chance to come back to this small town across the border from Yuma, I would most definitely come dine here again.

We walked across the way and even though this place was somewhat busy they made us feel very welcome. Our translator helped us navigate a few things on the menu and we were off to ordering. Most of the people in our group ordered the tacos and all loved them. They all raved about the carne and pastor tops with their spicy salsa and fresh guacamole. I personally tried some of their beef soup they had on special completed with fresh onions and cilantro. This meat was soooo tender it just melt d in your mouth and with a fresh squeeze of lemon OMG this was delicious. Of course I had to sample the tacos as well both the carne and pastor. Hard to choose because both were outstanding. The fresh guacamole was the perfect add in touch. Additionally the service and friendliness was true on point and made our big group feel very welcome. Having been welcomed and fed many times with homely care at El Borrego, I'm not surprised that the family connection - and the warmth and hospitality included in it - extends to Cousin Reina. If you're having a bad day, it's worth dropping in for a bite to eat just so you can say "hi" to her. Between the food and the greeting you'll receive, you'll leave feeling better about things. So what to eat? Depending on the time of day and how hungry you are, you'll be pleased with Cazuelitas; Pozole Rojo or the herby Guerrero-style Pozole Verde; hearty Tlacoyos; large Enchilada plates; or probably my favorite Mexican dish, Mixiote de Borrego, which is lamb that's spiced, marinated and slow-steamed until it falls off the bone. We then turned to Yelp to identify Mexican restaurants with good reviews and in close proximity to I-8, which is what brought us to Tacos Mi Rancho. The restaurant was easy to find, but every single parking space was already taken; we were able to park on the adjacent side street for free and without incident. The restaurant was busy but there were a few small tables for two available. We were greeted promptly by our friendly waitress, and we were given menus and she took our drink orders. Another server immediately brought a bowl of tortilla chips and tasty salsa (gratis). My husband and I both ordered from the "Senior Citizen Portions" menu for those aged 62 Years and Older. All entrees include beans, rice, and salad for $12.50. (Note that the entrees that we selected, as well as some other menu offerings and pozole, are on special on Friday's, the day that we visited. They were $10.99 each). My husband ordered #11, two chicken enchiladas, while I got the #12, one chili relleno/one rolled taco. I also got a horchata (a sweet and creamy non-alcoholic beverage made primarily from rice, cinnamon, and vanilla), which was served in a huge glass with ice; no refills ($3.99). We split our entrees, and all of the food was well-portioned and tasty. We felt that the meals were a good value. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the tastes were similar to those at our local Mexican restaurant back home in Virginia. The restaurant is in an old, nondescript building, but is tastefully decorated with a Mexican theme. It was clean, and workers wiped down the tables immediately after patrons left. One pet peeve was that the final bill that was given to us included only the total, so it was difficult to know whether it was correct or not. The total was $28.67, before taxes.
