My fiancé and I had lunch there the day of our engagement, so it has a special place in my heart. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. We visited Saint-Cirq in late May - so before high tourist season - so we were able to be seated immediately. The menu was great. So many of their dishes sounded delightful, it was hard to pick just one. Overall, the meal was absolutely delicious from our appetizer to dessert. The prices were also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Le Cantou to anyone visiting this beautiful town!

They also have some daily specials and set menu. We ordered two glasses of white wine. For the main we had the Confit de canard (duck confit) and the Saucisse Aveyronnaise. Both with Aligot on the side. The meals might sound simple, but both were delicious. The duck confit wonderfully tender - as it should be. Nicely done. The Saucisse (sausage) was a local specialty, nice meat and spices. The aligot was amazing. It is a dish made from cheese blended into mashed potatoes. Very heavy, very filling...but also very very good. Something that we will try to do at home somewhen. Already miss that dish. Prices are on the lower side. Mains just 15 and 11 Euros. Both meals came with a little extra salad on the side. A really nice little gem, this place. Lucky the other restaurant was full. If not, we would have missed out on this lovely place here.

It was lunchtime so I stopped here with the dogs because there was lot of outdoor seating and it was in the shade on a hot, sunny day. There is lots of outdoor seating in both the front and back, as well as seats inside. I sat outside in the front because I had my two dogs. Service was extremely friendly and efficient. I had a burger, which was cooked perfectly. The fries were tasty too. There is a parking lot down the block. I wish we would have come at night time because they have a very interesting tapas menu that combines traditional Spanish tapas with local ingredients.

If you're in the neighborhood September 13, 2025 they're having a band from NOLA (New Orleans Louisiana) but unsure if it's zydeco, jazz or Dixieland. Sorry we've got to miss that.

Old school fantastic…read more Go now before the chef retires -- which is soon. We chose to let the chef decide the meal, every dish a surprise, and we enjoyed every bit of it. This is an old school setting with an Escofier trained chef making the best quality traditional French -- no nouvelle cuisine here. Real sauces done the way they're supposed to be, classic in the best of the old ways. This man cooks from the heart and continues to do so in his 70s for the love of the art. And you really cant beat the value. In many parts of France you'll pay twice as much for a meal half as good. This is great French cuisine the way it was in back the 50s and 60s. It is a disappearing art. Go. Now. Before it is too late.
