Upon arrival, we were greeted by very welcoming staff and seated promptly. The ambiance was warm and inviting, complementing the overall experience beautifully. The menu features many mushroom-based dishes, as expected, given that mushrooms are the theme of the restaurant. While everything was going smoothly, it did take a while for us to get the wine menu. Our waitress mentioned that there were only a couple circulating through the restaurant, which was a bit of a bummer since it was busy, but eventually, we got it. The wine selection was excellent--perhaps that's why the menus were hard to come by! I started with the Cappuccino Cèpe (mushroom soup), and I can confidently say it was the BEST mushroom soup I've ever had. Yes, it was on the pricier side for a bowl of soup, but after tasting it, I completely understand why. It's worth every penny. For my main, I had the scallop risotto, and it was an outstanding dish. I don't often order scallops, but I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone here. I'm positive that every dish on their menu will impress. Le Cèpe is definitely worth a visit--an exceptional dining experience with great food, friendly service, and a lovely ambiance that lives up to its reputation!

I've had their escargot, frogs legs and foie gras. All were amazing but the frogs legs were the best that I had in France! They were perfectly cooked, not swimming in butter and really easy to eat! I had hurt my shoulder that day and could only move my right arm so the fact that they were fall off the bone tender and tasty, I was extremely happy! The escargot were amazing as well. The herb butter that they were cooked in was addicting! Thankfully, they give you a basket of bread to soak up all the butter goodness so you can enjoy every last drop! The foie gras was very good as well! Super rich though so be prepared! For dessert they have this amazing melting chocolate ball the reveals pears and ice cream! Not only is it fun to eat but absolutely delicious as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. You can ski right now for lunch and it's really easy to get to for dinner as well. We opted for Chez Kiki in Meribel as it came recommended by the holiday company and it sounded good from their description. Roughly a 10 minute drive up the mountain road from the town centre, the restaurant looked quaint from the outside and when we entered saw the log burning fire and paraphernalia which gave it a real charm. The maître d' was very friendly (though spoke no English, but that's more our failing for not speaking much French). We were seated promptly and were left to review the menus which unfortunately weren't particularly extensive with a double whammy of being very, very expensive. As we had no other options to go to we bit the bullet and ordered. It did take a while before we were brought any drinks or pain (bread) to nibble on but when the wine came it was very good indeed. I ordered the Côte de Boeuf Maitre d'Hôtel which was roast beef to be shared (as there is 1kg of red meat to devour). It came served with frites, salade vert and Bernaise sauce. It. was. amazing. I don't often order meat to be cooked medium rare and had heard that the French preference is more on the 'rare side' of the spectrum, but I'm glad I did as it was juicy and delicious. This redeemed them for me and accompanied with a few glasses of Les Ormes' Bourgogne made for a terrific meal. Though the final bill was hefty, everyone enjoyed what they ate and the service was friendly, if not as efficient as it could have been. Wow, I'm turning into a complete food snob, please send help.

As we drove around in a desperate search for sustenance, we came across this lovely family-owned restaurant. It was a very pleasant surprise, with delicious food in good portions. The service was wonderful; the mother-and-son duo was very friendly and the son spoke English well. The mother spoke very good French as she laughingly informed us. If you eat here, you will not be disappointed!
