What a find! Clearly a locals place, but very welcoming to the wandering tourist. Warm decor,…read morefabulous food. Loved our host and staff. We took the time for a traditional, multi-course Italian lunch. The seafood pasta was exquisite, followed by grilled fish, and grilled calamari. Fresh, plentiful, impeccably prepared. Tiramisu was more like a pudding than a cake, but had some of the best flavor we've come across in the Med. Bypass those touristy places on the piazza, and slip around the corner to this place. Oh-so-good.

The menu has a description in English so ordering was not difficult. The food is reasonably priced, portioned and delicious. I had the gnocchi with sausage. Soft gnocchi and creamy sauce matched well with the texture of the sausage. I had a glass of the house white, also inexpensive. I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. A note to other tourists if not already aware: there is a bread/ service charge which is standard. The one here was two euros.

We ended up wandering for a while since we had no idea where to go and what to eat and stumbled upon Osteria della Piazza in a little plaza. We didn't make it to the restaurant until late at night and since Ancona is not a well traveled city by tourists, we were really the only non-locals there. Our meals were exactly what we needed and absolutely delicious. They had a great menu and an extremely helpful staff. Since we knew nothing about the city we were able to direct us to a favorite local gelateria out in a square for dessert after our dinner.

We arrived early on a Saturday afternoon on which the town was very relaxed and not crowded. I'm sure it gets mobbed in high season. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating as well as attentive. We certainly got our seafood "fix" here, all of which done very well: Stuffed calamari (interesting); Spaghetti with small crabs (nice taste, too much work); Tuna tartare, and then we ordered fried calamari, which we should have just ordered to begin with. It was great. Lightly fried. Nice Mezzanotte Verdicchio Castelli Jesi '23. The whole experience was a very pleasant way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Autumn.

We were able to get a table inside for when they opened at 12:30pm. The outdoors looked lovely. We got the easy classic tasting menu. No regrets. We started with a glass of wine but the pour was so little we ordered a bottle. Tip- buy wine by the bottle. Service was perfect. Absolutely perfect. My favorite was the four gras between two wafers.
I live in Brussels and some ten days ago I booked via website a table for two for dinner at Uliassi…read morein Senigallia (Italy) a two-star Michelin restaurant for December 28. I immediately received confirmation and I then purchased the flights from Brussels to Italy and booked the hotel. After no less than one week, I receive an email from Uliassi saying that they are sorry but the restaurant is closed that very day and that yes, Ms. Uliassi did not pay attention when replying to my booking. Also that they tried repeatedly to call but could not reach me because the number I gave them was wrong. When they got my furious email of reply they called immediately apologising - meaning that if they had cared, they could have called well before. I was astonished to listen to their apologies and no offer to compensate me at all. The result is that I have to foot the bill of their carelessness as my programme just sank but the flight and hotel are already paid. I do not know (and will never know) how the food is, but can tell you that such level of service is definitely NOT up to the reputation of a two stars Michelin restaurant: in such an establishment these things simply should not happen.
