We spent one night here since it was the cheapest place in Costiera Amalfitana that we could find…read morenear our departure time. The camping is big and goes on in a vertical way. They showed us our tent spot and we saw all the places are pressed together. Maybe it is a better place for bungalows than it is for tents or it is ok if you don't mind having no privacy whatsoever. The people are kind and the service is nice.

Our only concern was the management at Villagio Nettuno. Responses were relatively prompt at first,…read morebut the communication ultimately could have been better. We were offered the option to have a taxi pick us up from the Naples train station: "Transfer pick up service from and to airports (Naples and Rome). Possibilities of Taxi with special prices! Possibilities of guides for all the locality of the area." We decided to look into this option, and we were told that someone would be able to pick us up. We were stranded at the Naples train station for 2 hours while we tried to communicate with management to confirm that someone is picking us up. We did not receive a clear answer, and we were told that management could not get a hold of the driver that they sent for us. We were repeatedly told to call back in 10 minutes as they tried to resolve the issue. We were not provided with any guidance on finding possible alternative transportation. Ultimately, we consulted the tourist information desk at the station and purchased train tickets on the infamous Circumvesuviana to Sorrento, which is still a while away from Nerano. We let the management know that we were ok with having someone else pick us up in Sorrento. However, we received no messages in Sorrento, so we resorted to taking an overpriced taxi to Nerano. We were left to figure this all out on our own, and we politely let the manager know when we arrived. He let us know that the driver's car broke down, which we understand can happen. This does not explain the fact that he did not help us find alternative transportation options and kept us waiting for 2 hours in Naples. What stunned us was that instead of apologizing and trying to accommodate us after an arduous 7 hour journey from Rome, we were met with a manager who raised his voice on us and tried to turn the situation around on us. He said "what do you expect? You're only paying for a bungalow!" The taxi service was a separate fee, and we were willing to pay for it, so we're not sure why the manager did not put forth any effort to resolve the situation. As a host, I did not appreciate him talking down to my guests, and let him know that in the tourism industry, that is not how a manager treats his customers. After working in the service industry myself, I was stunned that someone can feel so confident as to berate their own customers. Michele, the manager then continued to berate us and rated us online as uneducated customers who had trouble finding a taxi. He also stated that we complained about everything, when the only real issue was the fact that he didn't follow through on his word and left us stranded for a couple of hours at a train station. We never even mentioned the spotty wi-fi to staff. We would have had no trouble arranging alternative transportation if he didn't promise us that he can arrange for someone to pick us up from the Naples train station. Nerano is an absolutely stunning place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. We thoroughly enjoyed the majority of our stay here. Villagio Nettuno had very nice bungalows. The wi-fi is spotty here however, and will not work at the bungalows. You have to go to the lobby to get somewhat reliable wi-fi. Nerano is not as crowded and touristy as Amalfi or Positano, so you can truly relax here. The beach is fantastic with many wonderful family owned restaurants such as Mary's Beach Nerano. You also have the options to go on a private boat tour to visit Amalfi, Positano, or Capri, but this private boat tour is not offered through Villagio Nettuno. You must request information by the beach about a boat tour/ kayaking. All in all, the staff was very friendly, except for the management. This location is stunning, but look elsewhere for transportation options. The tourism industry is very competitive, and many hosts will do their best to earn your business and provide you with a pleasant stay. Keep this in mind as there are plenty of living quarters along the Amalfi coast.

Well, I am a regular at this camping since mid 90s, and I have seen it grow and change in all these…read moreyears. The good things include its position, in a pine area right by the beach, quiet at night and lively at daytime. There are a few bungalows and rooms for those without equipment, a large area for caravans and campers, and an area for tents. Two public services offer several toilets, sinks, showers with free hot water (in the past hot water wasn't free, but in the past years they removed the coin timer), and next to the reception there's a common area with washing machines (they need to be booked) and refrigerators, very useful for those by tent. The staff is very friendly, and kids may be happy to know there's an animation team during the Summer to keep them entertained. The bar and restaurant are under a separate management but inside the camping, and can be accessed also by non camping guests. Particularly good the pasta dishes with fish (mussels, clams and shrimps among my favorites) but also grilled meat and pizza. Restaurant service is also very friendly and competent. Speaking of bad sides I can only mention the prices: true that most customers are Romans spending the full Summer here, many even leaving their caravans during the Winter, but prices for short term customers are a bit too high. Considering that the tents area doesn't have a delimited space, but tents are rather free to set wildly in the assigned area, during peak season you may find someone just few centimeters from you and in the night you'll have to be very careful to cords and stakes. That's why €35 per night for a small 2 people tent is way too much in my opinion! At least the parking is free and adjacent the camping, while parking a car in the street would cost €1 per hour for 12 hours a day.
