The choi sum, a Chinese green, was fresh and not overcooked. We asked for some hot chile and that made it even better. The star of the meal was the fried rice. It was prepared to perfection with good quality rice. The tea was a little weak, but not too bad. Portions are huge and we will enjoy the leftovers.

I had their cheese fundido gyudon one night and the ramen Azteca (Mexican ramen with spicy broth, ground beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes) another night. The quality was not as good as Japan but it still tasted delicious. The Mexican Japanese fusion was interesting. I really liked the ramen more than the gyudon. The food here is simple, hearty fare, similar to food in Taiwan, which is different from Chinese food catering to Westerners. Non meat options are limited as most dishes use pork, beef or chicken broth and contain meat. My oolong tea tasted more like jasmine, but my husband enjoyed his milk tea. Servers were helpful and other patrons were polite, wishing us "buen provecho" when passing. Worth a visit.

The dishes were fresh tasting. All were seasoned perfectly and not at all salty, including the eggplant which did not taste salty or fishy at all. The black tea prepared fresh from loose tea at our table was so good that I bought some to take home. The decor is light and spacious. Our server was very kind and explained items to us that we didn't understand in either of our languages (Chinese and Spanish). We can't wait to come back for dim sum, which we've missed since moving back here.

The menu is enormous. If you can't find something here you like, I probably wouldn't want to go out to eat with you. This location is just steps from the Palacio de Hierro, a high-end mall in Polanco. If you want to escape its overpriced, overcrowded food court, come here instead.

The Spanish menu lacked some items, but was a little better organized. The menu is huge, with great variety, but it made using the QR code ordering system very difficult and frustrating. The food was variable. One dish of Steamed Shrimp on Glass Noodle was quite good. The green Chinese Vegetable was ruined by swimming in oil and arrived rather cold. The Kung Pao Chicken was absolute tourist special, just dry, tasteless (other than very sugary) and mostly pieces of inedible leeks and onion tops. They are known for duck and piglet dishes, but I don't eat those, so perhaps others would be happier with their dishes. We started with Soups, both the Hot and Sour and the Won Ton Soups were amazing. Both the Hot and Sour Soup and the Won Ton Soup were excellently done, bold flavors, hot, and full of deliciousness. We wish they would have large family style options as most all the food options are individual sizes. We also had the Fried Won Tons which again were very good, however the Sweet and Sour Sauce we had to request and the only brough one small dish for the 8 of us which was a bit disappointing. We also had two orders of Dumplings, Shrimp and Pork, and also the Pork. These dumplings were the best we have had in a long time, they exploded upon opening and were so flavorful with bold flavors, juicy broth and you just wanted to keep eating them. We would return just for the Appetizers we ordered; they are that good! For main entrees we had the Mongol Beef, which I really liked, the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was different than any I had tried before, the chicken breast cut in thin strips. This dish I found was a bit lacking in flavor overall but still not bad especially for Mexico. We had the Honey Sesame Chicken as well, same thin cut chicken breast, had a bit more flavor than the Sweet and Sour, but still could use a bit more flavor in my opinion, but again still a good option. We had the Prime Beef and Asparagus, which had more of the thick asparagus stalks than anything else, this was the least impressive and most expensive of all the dishes, and several of the beef bits were cut very large making them more difficult to eat. Service was OK and could certainly be improved. Overall, very good Chinese food in Mexico is hard to come by, and Chang An although the prices are on the high side, we would certainly recommend, and we would return and eat soups and dumplings and would be very happy!
