Eat here regularly. Well maybe not too regular but 4-5 times a year and I or my family members have never had a bad meal here. Consistently great food and good service. Great Greek spot in Penticton. Make resos ahead of time if you have a group; lines will definitely be out the door from the time they open. Food is delish! They serve huge portions, so expect to take home leftovers. Highlights were the Saganaki fried cheese, souvlaki plates, Solomos Skaras salmon, and Lamb Lemonata. The lamb dish sells out really quickly after opening, so if it's calling your name and it's not sold out, order it! Our server was wonderful (I wish I remembered his name!), but he took great care of my family while we were there. Looking forward to coming back next summer. read more

September 10th 2025 my sister, and husband, and I went out for supper as my sister was going back home, and we wanted to celebrate her. Our love for the food is why we go there, but we ran into a little issue. We ordered something to share, and my husband had ribs. We were asked if we wanted to start with pita bread, oil, and vinegar we had said no then I change my mind. Not being told what this appetizer would cost. i asked for the check at the end of the meal, and my sister looked it over seeing we were charged $6.00 for the pita bread, and an extra $6.00 for the oil, and vinegar. When questioning our waitress she said she had Not place this order before so was unaware of the extra charge for the oil, and vinegar. It is our assumption that the waitress is the one who has to inform the patrons of any extra cost. My sister then asked to talk to the manager about the up charge. The manager was not there, but my sister left her number. The manager did call my sister, and was rude, defensive about how food has went up and we the consumer have to get used to it. He then went on to say that he gets his olive oil from Italy, and it costs $75.00 a bottle. I feel that this manager mismanaged our complaint. As it was we had two meals and the pita, and oil, and vinegar , and my sister had a glass of wine to the tune of $106.00 before tip. I know it costs, and I know businesses are hit hard, but all I say is let the consumer know if there are up charges. We enjoyed the meal, and service but did not enjoy how we were treated. Greek Italian fusion with great flavor all around! Made a reservation for 6pm expecting it to be super busy, but we were seated with no issues on the patio. Inside was a really nice vibe as well so you can't go wrong. Our waitress was super nice and friendly and able to give some recommendations. Had the Trio of Spreads appetizer (doubled up on tzatziki with one hummus), but also the Saganaki: fried Greke cheese which was VERY good! Also served with Pita. Chicken alla Grec was kind of like an "unbreaded Chicken Parm" and I finished the entire thing. Beef Souvlaki was tasty and the Pastichio, a Greek lasagna, is probably what I would order if I go back. And all of our side veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned! read more

An interesting place to try - some good things, some not so good. The good--all of the food we ate was delicious. The ambience and decoration were on point and pleasing, and the table service was great. The not so good - food portions were a little lacking, especially with the high prices. The vegetarian meal came with a 6-7" piece of spanikopita with half a potato, dip and a small bowl of Greek salad for $26. No rice, bread, or anything else. That was rough. The pasta was better, but I was still hungry after the meal (and $25 for spaghetti and veggies). The front-of-house staff seating was a little rough - I'd requested a quiet table for our date night when I booked online and mentioned that again when we arrived. However, FOH tried to seat us directly in the busy aisle heading to the patio. We had to request to be moved twice before finding a decent table away from the traffic flow. Efficiency (maximum number of guests served with the least work for table service) over listening to the guest's requests. The service got better with dinner. Summary: This is a nice place to visit if you want some lovely food, aren't particularly hungry or want to buy lots of appetizers, and have money to burn. "Sangria" is the keyword my wife and I entered into Google Maps for our final dinner on this trip in Penticton. It came up with several mentions--one of them being La Casa Ouzeria, which we decided to try out because we never had is past visits. We weren't disappointed. Entering into a cool, tastefully designed decor with many potted plants, we were shown to a table and given an attentive and friendly server who readily accommodated our requests. My wife and I both chose the Lamb Lemonata--which was simply superb, and handsomely portioned, too. Strictly speaking, it should have been paired with a full-bodied red, but since we had set our hearts on a Sangria, we got a full pitcher of that--and that, too, was excellent. No room for dessert. All in all, one of our best meals ever in Penticton. Highly recommended. read more

My fiancé and I spent a long time searching for an Okanagan restaurant to celebrate our seven year anniversary, and we lucked out when we landed on La Casa Ouzeria. The decor was beautiful and fit incredibly well with the theme of the menu, Greek/Italian. The service staff was friendly and had great recommendations for every part of our meal. Every part of our meal far exceeded our expectations! The Tiramisu and the Ekmek themselves were worth the drive. We'll be stopping here every time we're in the valley from now on! read more

This is a very hard review for me to rate the restaurant on as the food and the table service was great but the front of house staff were both arrogant and rude! We had a reservation for 4 at 7 pm for my 71st birthday meal! Too bad we bothered with a reservation as they don't seem to care! We ended up waiting 45 minutes for a table! And the "manager" just kept asking what was he supposed to do? Really? But when we finally got a table our server Jodie was super and the food was good (not great)! And what was even more annoying was not one staff member said "sorry for the inconvenience" or anything even close to caring! We should have got something knocked off the bill at the very least! Not sure if we will bother going back! Actually I preferred the food at Theo's! They need to step up their customer service a lot!! read more

We made reservations for dinner here on the last night of our trip. We were given a choice of inside or outside, chose outside and got an awesome patio table. Barry was our server, so friendly and recommended the lamb lemonato which was a HUGE, delicious, tender, fall off the bone piece of lamb. And bonus that it is less expensive than the lamb chops I was thinking of ordering. My husband got the special which was a seafood skewer (shrimp, scallops, etc.) It looked yummy but I had no room to try it due to my huge meal. My boyfriend and I were visiting Penticton from Vancouver this past week and looked up restaurants to try on Yelp, and La Casa Ouzeria had great reviews so we decided to check it out. The atmosphere was very cool, lots of Greek decorations, and the tables were pretty well spaced out (COVID safe!) And best of all, the food here was amazing! We started with the Meze Platter which was an assortment of appetizers (all of it DELICIOUS!). Then we ordered the Lamb Lemonato, which was fall-off-the-bone goodness. If you like lamb, be sure to order this!! If I had more stomach space, I would've loved to try the Seafood Platter. Oh well, now there is a reason for me to go back for another visit! :) If you're thinking about a comparison in Vancouver, this place was much better than Stephos (even though I do like Stephos!)!! read more

We celebrated our 49th anniversary by going to dinner at La Casa Ouzeria. The menu looked interesting and we ordered different dishes. Both dishes arrived at our table hot and we could tell everything was fresh and of good quality. We enjoyed our meals very much and the service was excellent. Came here for dinner with family, and it was awful! The service was probably the worst. Our waitress clearly did not care that we were there. She was inattentive as anyone can be. 2 of 4 meals came out and then we had to wait at least another 10 minutes for the other 2 meals. When we did get them, one was cold and the fish raw. We sent it back and by the time we got a new one, everyone at the table were done their meals. We had to pack it up to go. The waitress did not apologize or even try to make things right. We had dinner on the patio. It was pleasant as it was quiet and we were able to have a nice visit with our friends. Our waiter was Faran and he was very good. He was always on top of things and was very personable. 3 of our group had virgin Caesars and I had a glass of white wine. Our friends shared a house salad and my husband and I shared the saganaki. The salad was huge and was a meal in itself. The ingredients were fresh and crisp. The saganaki was flamed at the table and was very good. I was surprised that we were served hot dinner rolls with balsamic vinegerette as opposed to pita bread like most Greek restaurants would serve. The dinner rolls were okay but I would have preferred pita bread. The entrees we had were Chicken alla Greca - Chicken breast with feta cheese, Mozzarella and tomato wine sauce, La Casa Special - this was a trio of dishes consisting of the Chicken alla Greca, Greek style ribs, and Spaghetti Bolognese, Greek-style ribs and Lamb chops. The food was good but nothing special. The portions were large but it was surprising that there was no tzatziki sauce to accompany the meal. Most Greek restaurants that I have gone to have tzatziki sauce on the side as well as pita bread. I note that you can order tzatziki sauce and pita for $9.00 but it seems to me that at a Greek restaurant this should be a standard accompaniment. We had a nice visit with our friends. The service was very good and we enjoyed the patio. The food was decent but as I mentioned nothing special. It is unlikely that we would return as we did not enjoy our meals enough. (Bring on the pita and tzatziki and don't charge an additional fee for what should be a basic) read more

In a world where everything comes pre-packaged at your local eatery, it's such a joy to find a place that makes its own sauces and sources great local products to make a high-quality cuisine in a rustic European family setting. Part Greek, part Italian, with the usual choice of dishes that are crowd pleasers. We had the lasagna (so good) and some pasta, but the star was the Feta and olive appie... I can't say too much about the food as we never got so far as everything else went wrong: We went there when we were looking for a place to have lunch because of the good reviews. According to Yelp the restaurant was open and when we arrived we went in and waited to be seated. A waitress was talking with a guest for at least 15minutes without noticing us. We waited patiently until she was finished and hoped that the service will be faster once we had a chance to order. We were visiting Penticton for a few days, and after realizing how busy the town was, we decided to make dinner reservations to ensure that we would be on time for our concert. After looking though local travel magazines, we decided that La Casa Ouzeria suited us best. We shared the Ouzeria platter, which was massive. What a great variety! Greek salad, kalamari, spanakopita, beef souvlaki, rice pilaf, lemon potato, lamb, dolmades, and moussaka. We had leftovers for days! But it was absolutely delicious!! Service was excellent, and the prices were quite reasonable. Under $60 for two (dinner) with wine and that platter. Not too bad. Although, I'm not searching for the best value when I'm on holiday. Our fist dinner and leftovers were so good, we went back a second time for a lighter dinner. Just moussaka and saganaki. Again, excellent food! The hostess remembered us, and the server, although different from the one the night before, was just as good. I will make a point of visiting La Casa Ouzeria next time I'm in the Penticton area. While I really hate to post a negative review, I saw so many positive reviews, I had to bring something important to management's attention. The food is great, but the service is HORRIBLE. I stopped going there simply for that reason. Any time I have been there, I am one of many waiting to be seated and, hey, you expect a good restaurant to be busy. The main problem is that, as you stand there waiting to be served, many wait staff pass by and purposely ignore you. They do not even give you the quick "someone will be right with you" or "I'm just in the middle of an order, can you hang on for just a minute?", which is enough to placate me. It is not the younger staff who, any time I've been there, are at least apologetic about the wait, it is the older staff who've been there a while. When it comes down to it, it is an easy fix - just make sure your wait staff acknowledge the customers! Give them a couple of quick phrases to hold off the frustration from waiting or, as tacky as it may be, set up a desk with a bell for customers to ring. Something. Anything. In the positive category, I haven't had better chicken livers anywhere else in the Okanagan! But, yeah, a little staff training is in order. read more

I went there for the first time just after Christmas. I had tried to go several times in the past but it could never seem to get there when they were open. Sometimes it seemed odd that they were closed, like a Saturday afternoon on a long weekend. Anyway, finally made it and ordered the special: lamb shoulder, marinated the day before in lemon mustard sauce and grilled slowly all day. Honestly it was the best lamb I've ever eaten. The room was loud and since it was separate from the main dining room, service suffered. Our waitress, when we did see her, was mainly serving the big party. We ordered the garlic prawns to start ($14), and I was disappointed with the lack of flavour. Our entrees were the chicken souvlaki ($20): one skewer of over cooked chicken, bland veggies, side potato. We asked for no rice, and unfortunately they didn't add any extra veggies; Moussaka ($22): there was hardly any eggplant, the potatoes virtually tasteless and I'm not sure where the bechemal sauce was in the dish. My husband and I absolutely LOVE La Casa Ouzeria. They have some of the best food in the entire Penticton area and have the best service. Minas and Lia are two of the (grown) children and work in the restaurant. We've had the opportunity and pleasure to eat in their restaurant four times during our two visits to Penticton for Ironman. We found the restaurant in 2011 when we volunteered for Ironman Canada. We ate Pastitsio and hummus w/ pita on our first visit last year. Lia was our server and was fantastic! The Pastitsio consists of penne pasta with a bechamel sauce and is layered with a meat sauce and feta cheese. It's baked in the oven, so it has a crispy top layer. Delicious! The pita is thick and chewy. We ate there a second time that trip because the food was so amazing. The second time around, we both ordered some sort of pasta dish. I think we had alfredo with chicken and veggies tossed in. The pasta tasted fresh (not dry). Perfection. Lia gave us baklava and tiramisu on the house. I can only speak to the baklava. Best baklava I have ever had. It's flaky, buttery, sweet. So decadent. So rich. For the past year, I have been craving the baklava and pastitsio. We came back this year to compete in Ironman Canada. Getting to the restaurant before they closed at 10pm was more motivation to finish the race faster! I remember running by the restaurant on my way to finish thinking how good dinner was going to taste. After corralling through the athlete area, getting a post-race massage and gathering our bikes and gear bags, we headed over to Casa Ouzeria. We made it at 9:48pm. Minas said they just turned off the appliances in the kitchen, but he was still able to serve us dinner! He sat us and was our personal server. It was phenomenal. He served us rolls with balsamic and olive oil. We happily ate our pastitsio and Greek salad. Yum! We love this place so much that we went back Monday night (second night in a row). My husband ate the pastitsio again. I ordered the garlic prawns. It consisted of six grilled prawns on a bed of rice with half a roasted potato and seasonal veggies. The shrimp/prawns came with a garlic butter sauce. I forgot to use it until the very end. That garlic butter sauce was the best part of the plate. It definitely added great flavor to the shrimp and rice. Veggies were fresh, potato was seasoned and crisp on the outside and the shrimp was tasty! I hardly ever eat shrimp, so I figured I should order some while I'm on vacation. Lia was a server that second night. She really gets to know her customers. When she came up to our table, she recognized us from the year before. She was like, "Oh my goodness! How are you guys?" Their entire family is so welcoming and kind. I have to say I was truly disappointed. Service was good. Not rave worthy; but good. Food was pretty bland and nondescript. The space was awkward. So the service was on par with what I would expect for any restaurant. Nothing special to say. The menu is very much your typical Greek/throw in some pasta for good measure. The food was lacking flavour. Seasoning was all over the place. Calamari was salty as can be, while the vegetables didn't even get a dusting. The ribs were seasoned on one side only. The spaghetti with meatballs looked dull. This space has a large area that requires using a single step. That's not feasible for anyone in a wheelchair. The flush area is incredibly poorly lit. Everyone needed to use their phone for light. Will I go back? I'll give them another try. But I won't go out of my way to do it. read more

This is a restaurant we went before our visit to Theo after our moved to Penticton, as is near our place. We went to dine after work one evening since it looks good on the building and we love greek (Lamb LOL). The waiter is nice and seated us to a nice area. I ordered the lamb kabab with rice and all and my partner order the spare ribs dinner. Over all my conclusion is, service 3/5, Cleanliness 5/5, food 2/5 and price 1/5. Food is okay but not wow as price is too high for such standard. Normally we know that greek food came in reasonable large or very large portion but here is just 'enough' to finish from our past dinning experiences. Don't think we will visit again as is not really worth the price compare with Theo. read more
