This is also a great event location. Everything from anniversaries, company functions, meetings, holiday parties, just about any kind of event, even intimate dinners for 6 or more. They can supply everything or just the facility. You will be delighted and wait till you see the view. You can call ahead for a tour. They are about a hour north on I-25 from Santa Fe. The fact that there was no elevator made lugging everything up really annoying and reminiscent of a certain Best Western in Wichita Falls with a broken elevator (see my one-star review on that on my profile). I was going to swim, but there was no water in the pool. In fact, the pool was quite an eyesore, as it was filled with tons of gunk. The buffet in the morning was mediocre at best. I would say that this Best Western was below average (average being your typical Best Western), but definitely wasn't a terrible experience. I just feel that it could have been better in more ways than one. However, if I ever stop in Clayton again, I wouldn't mind staying here at all. I would recommend, especially considering the state of other Clayton hotels.

Charming hummingbird feeders feed a busy flock of birds while a fountain burbles in a ivy covered courtyard. The hosts are beyond accommodating: from weird dietary needs ( gluten and dairy free) to helping us with an unexpected car problem, to providing ample ice and great company, Dave and Amy and Debbie were amazing...the rooms were classic old school turn of the century elegance. Wildlife abounds, the library is cozy and welcoming... I could spend my life here. You could write a novel, take a nap... it's heaven on earth. I was greeted walking in and the front desk staff had me checked in and headed to my room in a few minutes. A King Room on the second floor, comfortable, quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable, the room nicely appointed. The biggest plus is if you're looking for a place you can travel with your pets. They were so accommodating, even with my dog being over 100 lbs and that has been hard to find. I would absolutely stay there again.
