After spending the day driving and hiking at the national park, La Casita de Cortez was just what we needed to decompress from a long day. Delicious food, strong drinks, and good company. They start the table with the typical chips and salsa, and the salsa was delish. Ended up getting a little extra to put on my meal because it was so good. Prices were reasonable, and food was on the larger end. Carne asada plate was well-cooked, and their seafood salad came with a surprising amount of seafood. Definitely didn't have any leftovers with either of these meals. Good drinks. Enjoyed my cadillac margarita, and as I said, it was on the stronger end. Their micheladas were HUGE. Parking was super easy - they had a lot right on the side. Service was great, and everyone was super kind. This meal was exactly what we needed after a long day. Would highly recommend stopping by for dinner.

I was here after lunch hour and they had 2 larger tables. Service was good considering that. I sat out in the patio since such a beautiful day. The decor around is fun to look at. My sampler platter was good. My marg was just ok. I couldn't taste any blackberry which was a huge draw to the drink.

Ate here after visiting Mesa Verde National Park. The food was good overall. I had the shrimp taco salad--the shrimp were big and tasted fresh. My husband had the seafood burrito, which was just okay. It was made with imitation crab, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. For the price, we expected real crab. Still, it was a nice place to eat after a long day of walking and driving.

The fajitas were just okay - the chicken was a bit overdone and the veggies were nothing special. The chips and salsa, plus the overall vibes, made for a great dinner spot though - especially after a long day on the trails!

It's the best fish taco that I have had in a long time. We were passing by and picked this place based on yelp review. The fish tacos is always my fav choice. This one didn't disappoint. 3 tacos with two slices for tilapia in each taco. Generous portions of rice and beans. Love the flavor and freshness.

Beto. Five (5) star service! Great server! Food: in Houston would be standard, but excellent for Colorado. Chicken Mole Enchiladas were so good they disappeared before I could capture them in a photo! Ambiance is standard.

While on vacation my wife and I look for a Mexican restaurant while on Cortez Colorado. We we driving out RV so when we saw La Casita with street parking we decided to give it a try. The service was good. Free chips and salsa with the meal. My wife has the beef enchiladas and I had menudo. Everything tasted good and the price was reasonable. Would recommend.

Wish we hadn't waited three days on our trip before we tried this place! Let's start with the seating. Outside had a covered patio and was really quiet as we eat dinner early. The service was friendly and fast, even the lady bussing the tables was friendly. Now for the food. I loved the chips, salsa, and beans that came free. I ordered the veggie fajitas with flour tortillas and I was blown away! The onions, peppers and mushrooms were so delicious. I also enjoyed the guacamole, Mexican rice and sour cream with my meal. My husband ordered a shrimp dish that he said was amazing. Don't wait three days into your trip to visit here, do it on the first day so you can come back!

Wifey and I were wrapping up our 3 week road trip When I got that coming down with a cold feeling. I was craving a hot bowl of soup and this did the trick. Wifey enjoyed her taco and chile relleno and we both enjoyed their well made margaritas.

I wanted to come here since it had such great Yelp reviews but I was disappointed. The chips and salsa were good. The bean dip was alright. I got a carne asada burrito and was sad that it was just a giant tortilla with carne asada in it. No other toppings. The service was mid.

Special Margarita made with reposada and fresh squeezed lime juice! Along with their complimentary chips and awesome salsa.

Charming atmosphere, waitress made you feel at home. Freshly made chips and salsa, great margaritas, and the food was delicious.

Excellent service. Good food and plenty of it -- we shared the Chicken Fajitas. Fun little restaurant. Busy on a Tuesday afternoon!

Meh. My stomach hurt after. Dirty menus, fried flautas - oil tasted old. Won't be back.

Being told by a local that Cortez is in want of a good restaurant this is the best they had, we gave it a try. The food was okay and nothing to write home about. In fact, I have gotten far better Mexican along the East coast than this place, though the green chiles are better in this region. The chile colorado was okay at best. The refried beans were average. No one in the group was wowed about the dishes they had. Desserts were a bit perplexing. The churros arrived without the sugar and cinnamon. The sugar combo came in a saltshaker and when applied to the churro didn't stick. The sopapillas had a mixed viewpoint amongst us. No one really enjoyed them except for me. Overall, this is average. If you're in Cortez it may be the best Mexican restaurant they have.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by one of the bartenders and told to sit wherever we liked. We found a nice booth off to the side of the bar area. Our server Patrick stopped by the booth and pointed us to the food menu in the chalkboard. We also had another server but I didn't catch her name. They were both very friendly and attentive. I ordered the special for the day. A green chili Rueben & fries. Wow, this sandwich was so delicious! What a creative combination of flavors. Even the slaw in the Rueben included the green chilis. The fries were hot and crispy. My husband ordered the spicy BBQ pulled pork tacos. He said the tacos were amazing and the flavors were off the charts. They were topped with a slaw and pickles. The side of "tortilla chips" had a dusting of a very flavorful spice. Not sure what it was but very tasty. Looking over the menu, this restaurant has some very creative dishes. We can't wait to stop by again! My husband ordered
