Everything was so exceptional: the delicious, fresh food, beautifully presented, the exquisite service and hospitality, the excellent wine list (we had an Equua red blend from Valle de Guadalupe and Les Calcaires Sancerre from France), and the stunning setting in a restored Art Deco mansion with a lush garden of 50-year-old towering cacti and even a pond with live axolotls - that was quite a treat! The chefs are both alums of the world-renowned, two-Michelin-starred restaurant Quintonil, and Botanico has also earned its own Michelin Plate recognition. We came with a group of 30 for our firm retreat, and every item they served was incredible, beautiful and delicious. We had: - Ceasar salad - little individual ones you could eat like a taco! Loved. - Tuna tostada w/ avocado puree, salsa macha in delicious sauce. Wow - Fried calamari in a tangy Asian sauce; - Ricotta ravioli topped w/ butternut pumpkin cream & blue crab; wow! - Braised short rib, mashed potatoes, jus & pea salad - so flavorful -Veal milanese w/ tomato glace, and arugula salad- best veal I've had - Coconut panna cotta topped w/ diced sweet mango, meringue & basil; simple and light, but the best dessert we had all week! They even prepared a vegetarian menu for our guests which looked phenomenal, too: - Tomato tastada w/ smoked tomato jus, peach and basil oil - Roasted cauliflower, pine nut chimichurri and vegetable jus -Grilled catch of the day w/ romesco sauce and pea salad -Brie burnt cheesecake w/ blueberries and seasonal sorbet. Our server suggested we eat it with a spoon right from the bowl so we wouldn't miss a drop of the incredible dressing. Wow. It was one of the most memorable dishes I've ever had.
