The menus have both Spanish and English and the wait staff speak decent English as well. Throughout my 3 visits, my buddies and I ordered plates of Spanish Iberico ham, Iberico ham on scrambled eggs and potatoes, stuffed rigatoni, cuttlefish croquettes, slow cooked pork bao buns (which are amazing!), grilled octopus over chopped potatoes, as well as, a few other dishes. The 2 dishes that really stood out to me were the Iberico ham over scrambled eggs and potatoes and the slow cooked pork bao buns (on the menu, also called Speedy Gonzales). The salty flavor and the texture of the Iberico ham, coupled with the flavors from the scrambled eggs and potato really work, and together, is a perfect bite! Meanwhile, the bao buns were definitely a surprise in a Spanish tapas restaurant..lol Nonetheless, these were cooked with care and were delicious! The tender pork was perfectly paired with guacamole and what tasted like a sriracha cream sauce. Utopia was definitely a great find in Rota, and for anyone who visits this quaint little city in Southern Spain, I highly recommend this restaurant for it's delicious food! :D

They have an indoor, air-conditioned dining room and tables outdoors on the plaza. The food was very good, the portions appropriate, and the prices fair. We ate there twice and enjoyed our meals along with their resident dog, Rocco, who was very sweet, lingering near outdoor diners, but not begging or being a nuisance at all. The first night we had l'insalata caprese €8 and tortelli 4 formaggi ai burro e salvia €15 for my wife and the lasagna bolognese €10 for me along with a bottle of water with gas and a liter of sangria €12. My lasagna was delicious and HUGE, but my wife's tortelli had not been properly drained, watering down the rich butter and sage sauce, but my wife still enjoyed it. On the subsequent evening, we forewent the starter, my wife ordering the tagliatelli con funghi €10, me the spaghetti carbonara, and sharing the cotoletta alla milanese €12, a bottle of water and two glasses of house red wine. We decided to try the grilled squid, half argentine steak with thai chili sauce, and the ox entrecôte. The grilled squid was delicious. It also came with the thai chili sauce. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I read thai chili sauce, but it is basically the sweet chili sauce you can find in the bottle at an asian store, normally used for dipping sauce for eggrolls. It didn't take away from the flavor of the grilled squid but i felt that they put too much of it. In my opinion, i think It would be been better to just put it in a small dish on the side. The ox entrecôte was a good portion. They served it on a hot metal plate over hot coals. We ordered it medium and it came out good. The half argentine steak was also good and again, the thai chili sauce was a bit too much over the steak. I would have also preferred that the sauce was on the side. It took away the flavor of the steak, i guess this is what i get for trying to be "adventurous". Both steak meals come with some greens and a baked potato. The staff is very nice. There is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating as well as a play area for the kids. Overall, we thought it was good but probably not enough to return again. From what I saw, there isn't a parking area for this place, we parked on the street.

Half of us is vegan so we ordered pizza with no cheese, arugula, artichoke, olives & garlic. The thin crust was perfect and the pizza was fantastic. Our kids ordered a pesto pizza with some meat, they loved it. The owner, who's Italian, helped us with what toppings would complement each other on the pizza. We also ordered putenesca pasta, which wasn't spicy but the flavor and the noodles were fabulous. I'm sure desserts were just as good, but no vegan options. Would come here again and would highly recommend it.
