I was expecting a lot more from one of the few Moroccan restaurants in Nantes. The food was good…read morebut the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. We ordered a couscous royale for the table, intending to have individual salads and extra grilled meats for each person. We were told that the couscous was very small and we should each order a couscous plate. I explained that we wanted to eat en famille, sharing the couscous between the 3 of us (2 adults and an 11 year old child). In the end we did order a couscous royale and a Rabat-style couscous. Just as I thought, there was way too much food for 3 people. I did talk with the owner when I went to pay (side note: what is it with Europe that they accept credit cards but only the ones issued by European banks?). He explained that French people don't want a Moroccan experience of couscous as it would be cooked and presented in Morocco - they want couscous "French-style". I tried to explain that I wasn't interested in French food but that I had chosen this restaurant to get an as close to Morocco experience as I could. He told me that I should go to Morocco for that experience. Maybe I should, but I do know that when I am in Nantes I won't be eating at this restaurant again.

Although he was polite, it felt to me like the waiter tried to say as little words as possible to me. The dishes were just dropped on the table. When I asked for the bill, he sent me to the counter, where they first ignored me for a few minutes. If you are looking for nice asian food and you are in good company, this place me be a good choice. If you expect a warm welcome, it may be better to choose another place
