It's a pretty big store with tons of variety...kind of like a mix between a dollar store and a discount department store. You'll find everything from snacks and kitchen stuff to clothes and home décor. Parking & Location It's in a small shopping strip with a shared parking lot. There's always cars there, it's never empty and nearby you'll find a Baskin-Robbins, a Thai restaurant, a karate place, and a smoke shop. Parking can be tricky since there's only one entrance, so sometimes you have to loop around to get in legally. There's also metered street parking, but it can be complicated to find a spot. Accessibility I like that they considered accessibility! Even though there are two or three steps at the entrance, they do have a ramp so it's easy for anyone with a stroller or wheelchair to go in. Payment Info They do not take EBT or EBT cash, and they have a big sign right at the entrance about it. They do take cash and cards. Products & Prices They have a mix of everything...some really good deals, and some items that are a little overpriced for a discount store. For example, I found a cute bathing suit for $5, which was a great find! But then I saw a toddler panda pajama for $13, which I didn't think was worth it for this kind of store. So it's definitely a hit or miss type of place...more like a treasure hunt for the best bargains. They currently have lots of winter clothes and seasonal items. Prices can vary: some things are a steal, others not so much. I once found a Stanley-style tumbler for $25, and later saw a Hello Kitty one for $20 at another bargain store. Seasonal Finds I've noticed that other dollar stores stopped carrying Thanksgiving decorations, but I actually found some cute things here. They had a small wreath for $10 (a bit pricey), but then a bigger one for $3, which we ended up getting. It wasn't fancy, but perfect for adding our own touches. They also always have seasonal items, so it's fun to check in every few weeks to see what's new. Variety & Random Finds They sell pretty much everything...just like Dollar Tree, but with way more variety and some higher-end or trendier items too. One time they even had those TikTok-famous hand sanitizers (the expensive ones) for just $1.25! That's actually what brought me back recently, but they were out of stock this time. There's also usually a fruit vendor right outside the entrance selling fresh fruits, which is nice and adds to the little local feel. ‍ Customer Service The cashiers are fine (not super friendly) but they get the job done. There aren't really workers walking around to help you, since it's more of a family-owned discount store, but they do keep an eye on things through the cameras. Final Thoughts Overall, I really like coming here because they always put out different items and you never know what you'll find. It's definitely one of those stores where you might go in "just to look" and end up leaving with a bag full of random treasures.

I don't know if it's because it's new, but it even smelled really good when we walked in (not sure what they sprayed, but it was nice!). A Sweet Surprise In their little ice cream freezer, they carry Sarita's ice cream, which totally caught my eye because I've only ever had that in Guatemala! I'm not sure if it's originally from there, but they sell it a lot over there, and it's really good. It can be a bit pricey anywhere (usually $3-$4 a bar), and here it was $3.25...totally fair considering it's an imported treat. I thought that was such a cool surprise find. Great Little Deals Even though the store is small, the selection is nice from hair accessories to kitchen items, birthday supplies, seasonal decorations, and even a few snacks and food items. I noticed some products were regular dollar store brands and some were unique. There's not really a lot of Dollar stores in general downtown... Downtown technically has one on washington but it's not really near the high rises. Yeah there's the one in the basement of the grand central market, but whether you are on foot, in a car or on your bike, it's gonna take a while to get there from the street. Marina's on 8th st is pretty cool but it's kinda small. This place is probably the best I've seen that's right on the street. Not too far from the center of downtown either. It's kind of sectioned off where there's two mini stores connected with one cashier station, with a dude on either side. On the left you have drinks and groceries, cigarettes and pharmacy stuff.... on the right you have household supplies, stationery, clothes, used bicycles, electronics, tons of plastic goods like big trash cans and storage bins, mops, bathroom stuff, cleaning stuff. Next to a bus stop, you can easily lock your bike out front if you rode it there. Parking nearby shouldn't be too hard to find either. I've never come here by car, but I bet it probably depends on the time of day. The guy behind the counter has just the right attitude. He's friendly, he's helpful, he knows his inventory if you ask if he has something, and he doesn't really seem like a "try-hard", he kinda impresses you on accident. I don't think I've seen him ever smile, but that's okay. He's just straight-forward, no bs clerk. It's perfect. They take cash, they take cards. They have name brand sodas, they have beers, cheap shasta sodas, all the bases covered. When I need stuff on the cheap, I've been going there a lot lately rather than taking the trek to Boyle Heights, Washington Blvd or MacArthur Park. It's a mom-and-pop style store, a lot of stuff is around a dollar, but some things are a bit more but it's usually understandable as mom-and-pop prices usually are. You never feel like you're getting gouged. It's probably cheaper than Target or Walmart Neighborhood Market, and you're paying the dude you see in front of you. Yeah no complaints, i dig this place.
