I had the best experience this was the best drs office I've ever dealt with and been to in my entire life. From the initial first call to make my appt as a new customer Ariel is extremely friendly she helped set my appt and explained the process and answered all of my questions she worked with me on setting the perfect appt time and day and such a friendly voice that made me feel comfortable and important (I hate to say this but I did not have the same experience when calling my first referral the office owned by a couple near northgate market, they didn't call me back when I left a msg the phone rang and rang and finally I reached a lady who kind of made me feel unimportant I'm so glad I didn't go with those guys ) I 100% had such an amazing experience at La Habra Hills Optometry. Ariel was helpful, professional, friendly, patient and knowledgeable. When we pulled up to the location in was an older building but once we opened the door to our wow surprise it was a very nice and professional and modern. Ariel was there to great us. She gave me my forms to fill out which I was so thrilled that the forms were easy to fill out and they were laminated and was able to use a dry eraser marker so they save paper I love trees and that was so cool to me the office was so clean and comfortable. My wait wasn't long and Ariel guided me and did my eye exam she had it set up from one station to the next she guided me and made me feel comfortable she was very experienced and so gentle and directive in a kind and professional way. She is such a gentle soul she had a very cool yoda face mask and very cool glasses. She took me thru 3 eye exams she even did a cool blood pressure on my wrist instead of my arm bcus I told her that the one on my arm makes me panic she was so nice. She directed how to put my face on the machine and even the machine that blows air blew so soft and fast it didn't hurt at all. I really enjoyed my eye exam and how Ariel made it so easy and comfortable. Then I went into another room to wait for the dr but I had to go use the restroom Ariel was so nice about it and gave great directions it was right outside the door and it was very clean. When I got back the dr was ready in 5 mins to see me she was very kind quiet and gentle I was scared bcus I knew It had been really needed for me to get glasses after many years. The dr said my eyes look healthy there is nothing behind them or any damage she suggested a physical with my dr to check my blood pressure and for diabetes etc bcus she noticed I hadn't had an appt in a long time besides that she just said that I'm near sided she put the lens googles and helped check each eye and how well I can see. After that I went straight to the front glasses area and Ariel had all of the glasses displayed for me she helped me with chosing what is the most modern and which looks great on me she allowed my bf to come in and help decide too that was so nice. I ended up picking the glasses that she first suggested they really look so cool on me :) so excited also, I opted to get the bifocal n she said she'd make it low for me so it wouldn't be to noticeable and look more chic yes I mean she is so cool :) then she measured my eye distance and face distance to fit perfect she explained the time it would take and she was so Informative modern sweet and super clean she made sure to social distance and sanitize everything. I was so so so satisfied I didn't leave with any unanswered questions :) also, I called her and asked her to send me my rx so I could have it on file. I was so happy to see it in my inbox already by the time I checked my email. I mean how could u not love this place I'm excited to get my new glasses oh and the retinal test does a covid19 text and I'm all clear yaaay. Can't wait til I can get my glasses and be able to drive at night again. I'm so happy seriously I'd give them 10 stars or more very very very satisfied and really was treated extremely well and treated important and special. Been a loyal customer for probably 10 years now?? I looked up local Optometrists in La Habra, picked Dr Pinkham. She is very thorough, takes time with each patient, it is a total one on one. Only one other technician in the office as well, very gracious, helpful and I like the fact this is a small business, run by 2 women :) Very informative about wellness, diet, etc....not only for health benefits, but for your eyes as you get older. I never needed glasses until my mid 40's to read and see small print. My eyes are getting, like me.....so diet and health go hand in hand. I think they are wonderful, my insurance is taken here as well. I highly recommend this small business. Sue Bee read more

I will never go here again. I spent almost $800 on exams for glasses, contacts, and the extra testing for glaucoma etc. I have eye med insurance and the eye glass frames were inexpensive. Anyhow - I got glasses and contact lenses in sept 2019. I now need a refill on my contacts and the doctor refused to renew without giving me a new exam. The bs law does have some leeway and doctors can let the prescription go two years. It's just another way to squeeze money from people even if it's not necessary. I would not recommend this doctor. read more

I had been to this office prior in the past for a few routine eye exams for my daughter. (Some insurance changes and years in between passed). I didn't have a single issue with this office, mind you, I rarely had to do Optometry visits since we didn't have eye issues. I went in Jan 2019 to get a pair of lenses (prescribed at Kaiser) and let me tell you Ariel was such a sweetheart and was very informative since it was our first time getting a pair of glasses. We got that situated and very thorough Ariel was. Went back after 2 weeks to pick them up and once again we were helped by Ariel. She made this a very pleasant visit overall. From selecting a frame to leaving content with our prescribed lenses. 2021 Visit: (I am very mindful and considerate of other in following CDC guidelines and distancing). I decided this time around to take all 3 of my children to get their eye exam at this office. 2 different appts. Worst decision I have made for them. Calling and scheduling was very pleasant but the office visits overall felt very "rushed and pushy". They called me like 4/5 times to keep reminding me of our appt until like that Friday before our appt. Which was feeling like harassment.. I did make it very clear when signing in I would not be forcing my children to any exam they did not feel comfortable. I was informed by receptionist that wasn't an issue. Made me feel more at ease. Once we got to doing a few of the machine exams is when the Dr was "forcing" my child's head into holding still and into the machine for the DRI exam. Mind you he is only FOUR. She made us feel like "hurry up and get out" rushing everything. Conclusion was, they all needed glasses and I had to pay in full (Very expensive for each one and not given time to even think about it because she kept pressuring me). Im not the Dr but I do observe my 2 young children well and they haven't complaint to me or nor have I seen them struggle to see. (I also considered their day care provider too for this option and if they noticed them struggle to see or read, no issue). I had done some research and found everything she was telling me I needed from exams and lenses for 1/2 her price!!! Dr herself doesn't let her assistance do anything. She does all exams to checking us out and charging. By the way, she over charged me for our copay (she kept saying that was their copay for her office and that was what my insurance said) and also for exams performed; not including for the glasses I didn't get with her, thank God. Called my insurance and yes I was over charged for copay went back to get refunded. I felt like they do that alot there that all they said was "sorry". NEVER AM I GOING BACK TO THEM, EVER!!. I found another office that took their time and considered my opinion in our eye care. Plus, made my children feel very welcomed. Will be looking into filing a complaint with my ins for their office. Very unprofessional of the Doctor herself. Avoid this office, better offices out there. read more

I've been coming here for about 3 years now. I do dental consulting and marketing for a living so I'm highly picky about my medical providers. One thing I like about this place is their systems. They are on top of their systems and customer service. Both Ariel and the Doctor are just in sync. The office is impeccable clean, quiet, and sanitary. Which is important especially in this new age we are living in. Anytime I email Ariel she responds right away and is always pleasant. I appreciate a place that treats all patients with respect and chipperness. This review was long overdue. read more

I have tricare prime insurance. My husband is in a Navy and He made the appointment for me.  I went to La habra Hills Optometry to get an eye exam and contact lenses prescription filed. Upon arrival we met with the doctor outside in the parking lot as she was entering the building. She instructed us to go inside and she was herself without a mask and we were both without maskless. At no point did she mention we needed to wear a mask. She pointed us at the entrance door which did not state anything at all about a mask was needed inside the facility. Upon entering the receptionIt's told us we needed masks and they would provide one for $2 each. Now my husband had no problem paying for it but I felt it was bit distasteful to bamboozle someone into paying for a mask. I brought the issue to her attention and she immediately got defensive and began saying it's not her it's city rules. I quickly responded that the issue isn't about the mask but rather the fact you failed to mention we needed one when you confirmed the appointment via phone. You failed to mention it when we saw you without a mask outside and at the door. She said it's a new policy and she doesn't need to provide us the masks. I responded well we would've gone somewhere else to get one. That was a very embarrassing incident because me and my husband as we are law abiding citizens. In Orange County California the mask mandate was lifted and since there was no sign indicative that particular business required to wear one , we didn't have one. This seems like pandemic profiteering and taking advantage of the current situation. Nevertheless I continued with the visit. She charged for $38 imagining that I wasn't even given the option to decline thatwasn't covered by insurance . Then was charged for the contact lenses exams and was told I had to come back next week to get my contact lenses prescription paperwork. I've been myopic my whole life and have been getting eye exams for over 15 years. I always receive my prescription the same day of the exams. Nonetheless a week goes by and movers came to our condo to move our items because my husband was set to be stationed in Mississippi from now on. I couldn't attend the appointment and called to ask if I could just get the prescription instead. She refused to release the prescription and I had to be there in person or she would offer a refund instead. I'm not sure why my prescription was held hostage and have never received such terrible service before. Why was I met with such disdain ? I don't believe I did anything wrong . This absolutely extorsion and bullying to the highest degree. We are a middle class family and the pandemic very kind to us. To take advantage of working class families specially one that is putting their lives for this country is just evil. I come from a family of doctors and nurses so I can recognize bad behavior when I see it. I'm willing to take this complaint to the highest chain that could be taken and demand this matter be addressed. read more

I made an appointment here, after hearing good things from a friend. I went in for my annual eye exam. First of all the office is so cute, a very mellow environment. Next, the receptionist was extremely nice and polite, and I felt very comfortable when she also proceeded to do my eye pre-tests! When it was time to see Dr. Pinkham, she was super nice and the checkup went really well! I had some concerns and she was able to clear them up and assure me they were nothing to worry about! The doctor did not want to increase my prescription enough. At school I can not see the white board clearly and others can. I told her this. She went through all the stuff to find my new prescription and I told her it wasn't much of a difference to what I have and it needs to be stronger. Then she started to talk down to me and I explained I don't wanna waste money on glasses again if these are not strong enough. Then she said well you never know till you try. I understand this but be real glasses are not cheap and i dont want to buy them again if this doesnt work. It felt like the doctor was talking down to me the whole time. DONT GO HERE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER PLACES THAT WILL TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOU! read more

I agree with Kione, Ellen either misinterpreted something the doctor said or was talking about someone else. Dr. Pinkham was polite, kind and very professional...great bedside manner! She took her time in explaining the results of the exam with me. She discussed the latest advances in contact lens materials and how using the correct solution actually makes a difference. The doctor and her staff are very easy to talk to, which is important to me as there are several issues with my vision that I have and the doctor has taken her time to make sure that I am fully informed and all my questions have been answered.
