When someone makes the decision to seek help, that moment is critical and she understood that. There was no runaround, no delay. Within less than 24 hours, my loved one was admitted and safely beginning medical detox. What truly stands out about Coastal Detox is the combination of professionalism, evidence-based treatment, and genuine heart. This is not a one-size-fits-all program. The care is individualized and holistic, with a strong clinical foundation. Services included medical detox, addiction therapy, trauma-informed therapy, clinical support, DBT, CBT, individual therapy, music therapy, and more all thoughtfully integrated into a personalized treatment plan. Nina is incredibly present and involved. She doesn't just oversee the program she cares deeply and stays engaged. Her clinical staff reflects that same energy: professional, knowledgeable, warm, and truly invested in each client's recovery. The intake process was smooth and efficient, which matters more than people realize. When someone is ready for help, the process needs to meet them with open arms and immediate action and Coastal Detox absolutely did. This place has been a true blessing for our family. We are beyond grateful for the care, integrity, and compassion shown every step of the way. If you're looking for a program that combines evidence-based excellence with heartfelt, hands-on leadership, this is it.

Every time I am able to be a part of the program, I am witness to the hard work and commitment that the owner of the detox center, Nina, has put into making this program a success and the result is clear as day with the light of hope on all the clients faces and the laughter echoing throughout the big barn. It is truly an honor to be associated with a program with such integrity. Who knew that incredible programs that go above and beyond even existed? I think back to the stale, dreadful shaming program(s) that I went through, and there is no comparison. I have seen the proof, and if ever I was in the position of choosing where to start my sober journey... Coastal Detox of Southern California would be my choice!

In September 2025, my psychiatrist, NP Shadette Soriano, recognized that something still wasn't right and recommended HealthyU's PHP and IOP programs. I am incredibly grateful that I took her advice. From beginning to end, my experience with HealthyU has been nothing short of life-changing. It's true that "it gets worse before it gets better," and I feel so fortunate to have had such compassionate clinicians and supportive peers beside me during the hardest parts of treatment. After nearly six months in the program, I came out stronger, more prepared to manage my illnesses, and learning to love myself a little more along the way. There is no way I could have done this without HealthyU. IOPs are called intensive for a reason. There is a full curriculum, deep emotional work, and days when you want to quit--my advice: don't. You don't have to show up at 100% every day -- the facilitators will meet you wherever you are and help carry the percentage you don't have. They genuinely care about every person who walks through those doors and truly want you to succeed. The group setting reminds you that you are not alone. The peer support is something you never forget. I have made lifelong friends who understand me without judgment, and I offer them that same understanding in return. In my heart, I know I would not be where I am today if I hadn't admitted myself to HealthyU. I don't know if I would even still be here. If you are feeling lost, lonely, or afraid that life will always feel this way, please consider HealthyU. There are people there who care deeply about you and will help you find your way forward.

Welp 2 weeks later and not a single message or call. He said they needed to find me a detox but that there's a "team" for that. It's funny because I called my insurance and was given names of approved detox centers in less than 5 minutes. Called them and was able to get in with no issue...thankfully. To think of all the people who don't advocate for themselves and continue with their addiction because companies don't care to even help them. No wonder people are struggling when you have companies like this. Definitely letting my insurance know to stop working with them. What a shame!!

I was here for over a year and I can honestly say this program provided me with the tools and resources to save my life. One of the things that sets Healthy Life apart is that it's a year-long program. That year gives you enough time to rebuild a solid foundation, whether you choose to use it or not. So many other programs don't offer that opportunity. Healthy Life does, and that extra time is what helped me get steady in my sobriety. Another thing I can't say enough about is the staff. There is always someone you can reach out to, day or night, and they will respond. I've had moments where I was struggling or a friend was in need, and staff always showed up. That kind of care and compassion isn't something you find just anywhere. The BHT's were a huge part of my journey here. On my hardest days, they met me with patience, encouragement, and even humor. They knew how to show up for me in ways that lifted my spirit and reminded me I wasn't alone. Some of my toughest moments turned into turning points because of the support they gave. The groups taught me things I still carry with me, the therapists genuinely cared, and most of the staff are in recovery themselves. That in and of itself gave me so much hope, because I could see people who had been where I was and made it through. I never felt alone here. Bonnie, the clinical director, guided me with wisdom and compassion that kept me grounded through some of my toughest days. James, who keeps the operations side running so smoothly, is the heart and engine of this place--his work doesn't always get the spotlight, but it absolutely shapes the experience here. And Keith and Ryan, the founders, are not like other owners. They built this place from the heart, and it shows. They don't just sit behind the scenes--they're present, they care, and they make sure every single person who comes through here is treated with dignity. I never once felt like I was just a number or an insurance policy. I felt like a human being who mattered, and that kind of leadership is rare. Healthy Life became my San Diego family. From the day I arrived with my dog Apollo, who was welcomed like family too, I knew I had found a home. That sense of belonging has only grown stronger. Even after graduating, I'm still connected through the alumni group, which keeps me accountable and plugged into a community of people who want the same thing: to stay sober and live better lives. Today, I am over two years sober, something I never thought was possible. When I first came here, I was hesitant, unsure if this was the right step or if I could even make it work. If you have a loved one struggling with addiction or if you're reading this and you feel the same way--I've been where you are. All I can say is: take the chance. This program gave me a life I didn't think I'd ever have, and I'm living proof that it's worth it. Healthy Life Recovery gave me the foundation, the guidance, and the love I needed to get here, and for that I will always be forever grateful.

I gave them a call & they instantly came to the rescue. The team was & has been extremely welcoming, efficient, charismatic, genuine, loving, supportive & so much more. This program is more than just a program. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to experience the level of care that has been provided. If it wasn't for Healthy Life Recovery, I'm not sure that I would be here to write this review. Words can't begin to express the gratitude that I have for the staff & program. I knew I would need a program that offered extended treatment for the years of addiction, depression, and abuse I had done to my mind and body. I was a broken person coming into Boardwalk. My blackout drinking had graduated over a decade ago to a benzo and opiate addiction. I had a heroin overdose where I was found by a significant other and saved by EMTs who administered Narcan. I ended up spending four days in the hospital. I dealt with depression and anxiety by self medicating, which in turn was exacerbated by my drug and alcohol use. My addiction had me trapped in a mindset that my life was over and I could not become a productive person again. I had tried to get sober through suboxone maintenance, psychiatry, and outside counseling but nothing worked. Boardwalk met the criteria I was looking for in a program that specializes in dual diagnosis treatment. They have psychologists on staff that helped me get to the root cause of the reasons I used by applying DBT and psychotherapy towards my individual issues. Counselors on staff are incredibly knowledgeable in their field of expertise and went out of their way to help me when I was struggling. I had regular individual sessions assigned to a counselor for the entirety of my time at Boardwalk and he was a crucial part of my early recovery. The time afforded to me at Boardwalk allowed me to process trauma and insecurity I had buried through a lifetime of addiction. Through their PHP and IOP programs they were able to gradually lower my level of care as my progress continued. I was able to overcome this defeated mindset through various forms of mindfulness techniques, meditation, and a hard but ultimately rewarding introspective look at myself. I was also introduced to a fellowship of men that I continue to talk to on a daily basis. Some of the most memorable parts of my time at Boardwalk involved the friendships I made that still exist to this day, as well as the bonding and camaraderie that took place. We lifted each other up knowing that we were in this battle together. On Fridays we would take trips to the beach and hike in the mountains. These activities had some of the most amazing views I have ever seen. I have over 9 months sober now and without taking the leap out here to be a part of Boardwalk Recovery I don't know where my life would be currently. I recommend Boardwalk to anyone that is battling addiction. The resources and tools at their disposal are second to none and they take a true interest in your recovery as many who work here from the administration to the staff are also recovered addicts and alcoholics.

Regrettably, my experience was that they allegedly hide in anonymity and enable their incompetent subordinates to make unqualified decisions. Monica stated several times that she had discussed this matter directly with the CEO. If Monica's statements are true, then this type of behavior may imply that this medical practice is all about making profits at patient's/customer's expense and not about patient/customer satisfaction and service level quality. It was abundantly clear from her delusional behavior that Monica believes that patients/customers exist to serve and support the needs of clinic staff and not the other way around.
