Cut nail

Everything about this nail appointment was bad. First, I didn't get my nails started until 20 minutes after my appointment was booked for. I was then given the WRONG type of nails.. I asked for gel and got acrylics, and was CHARGED for the amount of gel. I was also put between 2 different people without being told, my stuff being moved without asking in between when I went to wash my hands. I was also cut with the buffer on 2 fingers, both bleeding and nothing being done about it. I was also pressured into getting shellac as well, which I didn't intend on getting. I will definitely not be returning.

After seeing a few posts on Instagram of friends getting their nails done here.m my sister suggested we go. This was the best nail experience I have ever had, hands down. The atmosphere was so much more relaxing that other nail bars I'd been to and the decorating is beautiful. I went for the pedicure and shellac manicure (which is still flawless 6 days later and it held up to all my cashier job activities) and my nails look amazing. The pedicure was so relaxing and the message chairs are phenomenal, I'd never had the message experience at other places. We were also given a bottle of water which was amazing. The lady who did my nails was lovely, I didn't catch her name but she was so nice and recommended a colour for my toes after the one I picked was too light. The staff here are so friendly and polite. They definitely treat their customers well because there was a steady stream of clients the entire time we were there. The only downside is it's so far away for me since I live in the east end. I am planning to go back and will likely book an appointment for my wedding and engagement shoot nails.

So I'm on vacation this week and I have a few things coming up, such as concerts and family visiting, etc. I wanted to pamper myself, because honestly, I never do. I love treating myself to a mani/pedi for this week. So I went to the search bar on Yelp to find a place, and this place was the first on the list with 5 stars, so I said why not? I had called the same day to get an appointment and they had me in at 1:00pm. I walked in and was brought to the wall of nail polishes to pick out my toe colour, which I chose purple, because come on, it's the best colour. I was then taken to the pedicure chairs, and my feet soaked in a massage tub of blue water. It was delightful. The aesthetician was very good at her job, from the filing, to the actual toenail painting. The massage on my feet and lower legs was very relaxing. They also give you a bottle of water for your time there as well. I had my fingernails shellacked as well, same process of dipping my fingers in the warm water, filing, and massaging of my hands. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this. The aesthetician made small conversation with me, but mostly talked to her coworkers, which was fine, I didn't mind at all. I had a beautiful cobalt blue done on my hands, no design this time. The price of the shellac manicure and regular pedicure came to about $62 after tax, and of course tip, a little on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality and time that was put into my hands and feet and will last a long time. For payment though, they only take cash or debit, no credit card.

Love my fancy nails!

Love La Luxe! After a disappointing experience they redeemed themselves and total care and attention was given. I came in with a concept of what I wanted and with a little tweaking, they gave me something even better! Love my nails :)

Was in London for a couple days and stumbled upon this nail place to try out. My nail technician went through different nail colors with me and put up with all my requests. Often times technicians do apply polish and paint over lines, so my fingers sting a bit when they go through the gel light but she was really careful and didn't cause any irritation. The jewels were placed on precisely and on centre. Overall for my first time, I'd recommend this nail bar.

You can really tell the owner of this nail salon puts his heart into his business. Every time I…read morevisit, something has changed (for the better). Whether it is new lights or offering wine with a mani-pedi, Hot Nails has evolved since I started coming here 4 years ago. (And yes, they do have a liquor license so you can get wine while you get pampered!) The first thing I noticed about this place is how everyone says hello to the owner Peter like they are the best of friends. You can tell his customers are very loyal and love their work. I find the service is quick and pretty good. My nails come out perfect every time. I think I've only had one experience where I had to ask the girl to put another coat on my nails cause the polish was a bit thin. Not a huge deal at all, she was happy to oblige. Sometimes the service itself is a bit inconsistent, one time I got a scrub with my pedicure and other times I didn't, so I'm not sure what the logic is behind it. Overall if you are looking for a good, quick, and friendly place to get your nails done, check out Hot Nails on Wellington road. The longest I've ever had to wait is maybe 10 minutes. I've never had an issue walking in without an appointment. They also have a loyalty card, after so many visits you get a service 50% off.

They accommodated me and several others as walk-ins without any issue. I was very happy with my service, I had a shellac manicure with French tips and they look great. I didn't try them but they also had nice massage chairs in the pedicure area and you can have wine or champagne while having a service. The product lines were all natural as well which was very nice. Would definitely try this place again!

ZERO STARS if that were an option…read more I had one of the worst nail salon experiences of my life here, and it was rooted in dishonesty, incompetence, and complete disregard for a serious allergy. Before my service even started, I clearly told three different employees that I am highly allergic to gel. I explained, multiple times, that gel causes my fingers to blister, crack, and become extremely itchy, and that I cannot use UV lamps. I specifically requested dipping powder ONLY because it does not require UV curing. I called ahead when making my appointment to confirm they could provide this service, as it states on their website, and was explicitly told yes. Once I arrived, multiple employees again confirmed they understood my request and my allergy. Eventually, a technician was brought over who again confirmed she understood my gel allergy and that she would be doing dip powder. That was a lie. From the start, she showed she had no idea what she was doing. Instead of soaking off my existing dip, she aggressively ground my nails thinner and thinner, even after I asked her to please stop and soak them. She continued drilling past the color layer and into my natural nail telling me that she "has to do it this way". Finally, I had to pull my hand away while firmly and loudly tell her no more, because my nails were becoming so painfully thin that it was burning me! Then came the biggest red flag. After applying the base coat, she told me to put my hands in the UV lamp. I immediately said no and reminded her, again, that I am allergic to gel and UV curing. She insisted, saying, "I know, it will just help them dry." That statement alone proves she was not doing dip powder, because dip does not go or dry in a UV lamp. That is gel. She repeatedly argued with me, insisting I needed to use the UV light. At that point, I realized I was being completely misled. I briefly complied out of confusion, then immediately pulled my hands out because I knew this was wrong. She became visibly annoyed that I wouldn't continue. After nearly an hour and a half, she applied what she claimed was the dipping activator. This hardens the nails almost immediately, but the nails never hardened. When she touched one, the entire layer smeared right off. That's when it became undeniable: She had been using gel on my nails the entire time. I confronted her and said plainly: "You put gel on my nails. I told you multiple times I am allergic. You said it wasn't gel." Her response? "Oh, come here, we take it off or start again." Absolutely not. To make matters worse, I brought my poor elderly mother with me for a pedicure. Her pedicure lasted maybe 10 minutes, was rushed, poorly done, smudged, and then she was left sitting there for over an hour and a half while my disastrous nail service dragged on. The technician who did her pedicure was just as careless and unprofessional. So not only was my service unsafe and dishonest, but my mom's experience was equally awful. This salon fails across the board. This place lied, wasted my time, damaged my nails, and exposed me to a product I clearly stated was medically unsafe for me. There was no apology, no accountability, just an attempt to quietly redo it after I caught them. If you care about your health, your nails, or basic honesty, DO NOT GO HETE!!! They will tell you what you want to hear and then do whatever is fastest, easiest, and cheapest for them! For the record, I was only able to get my nails done safely because Sen Nails & Spa actually does real dipping powder and respects client allergies. They quite literally saved me during the holidays and made my nails look beautiful!! This salon is dishonest, careless, and completely unprofessional. What happened here raises serious health and safety concerns, and I genuinely believe this business should be investigated and shut down.

Got a full set of acrylics with shellac on top. Came in with old shellac on my natural nails…read more Provided a picture for reference of what I wanted. The nail tech I had took her time (I was there for almost two hours), however, it was absolutely necessary for the great job she did. Definitely paid attention to details. The place itself looked clean and has parking. Would recommend.
