Delicious, but full of ice. See top of the cup.

I happened upon this spot while shopping at Mitsuwa, and on my first visit I was impressed with their matcha latte. It was smooth, creamy, and had just the right touch of sweetness. I enjoyed it so much that I made a special trip to Plano just to get another one. Unfortunately, the second visit was a letdown. This time, my drink was packed with ice. When I asked about it, the barista explained that each drink is measured out according to the recipe. I've heard this same explanation at another coffee shop, and noticed they both use the same style of very dense ice. The problem is that this type of ice makes the cup look full, but it leaves you with far less liquid than expected. At nearly $9 a cup, getting what feels like only 5 ounces of actual drink is disappointing. (See picture below, notice ice on top of cup) The flavors are excellent, but for that price I'd rather go somewhere that doesn't overload their drinks with ice. There are plenty of places nearby that make drinks just as good without skimping on the portion. Sadly, I won't be returning. Side note: As of October 2025, there are two Yelp profiles for this same location (Legacy in Plano). Check both before making your decision.

This place has been on my list to go to for a while now. I originally heard about it on TikTok. The color of their matcha looked amazing in the videos, so I just had to try it out and see if it also tasted good. They are located inside Mitsuwa in the food court. There was no line when I got there, but I could not order drinks because their orders were backed up. One of the staff told me the wait time to order drinks was going to be about 20-40 minutes... I was determined to try their drinks, so I checked out the market while I was waiting. Once I ordered, the staff told me the wait time would be about 10-15 minutes, which was no problem for me. You can see the baristas hand-whisking the matcha, so you know it is guaranteed to be good! We got the matcha and the banana matcha. Both are extremely delicious. I would definitely recommend the matcha here.

I would come here for a couple of things here. The Sakura Matcha is something that I think all people who first come to this café you get. They have instructions for you to sip the sweet floral Sakura cream and then you mix and sip on the mixed drink! Honestly this is the best way to drink it as using a straw doesn't get you the cream you want. The other one I would get is the cream-based Hojicha/Matcha that kind of looks like an einspanner! It's located IN the Mitsuwa marketplace off on the side so honestly would come back just to try more of their pretty drinks!

Super delicious. Very long wait. Couldn't customize drink. Worth the wait. On the pricey end for a drink.

Two locations (Mitsuwa & Fairview) to satisfy my hojicha craving. This time, they had hojicha cheesecake too.

Omg. I tried the refreshing ade last time I was in Dallas and it was perfect to quench my thirst in the summer. This time around it was a little chilly with the rain so I finally got to try their matcha and it blew my mind! If you are a fan of Injeolmi (soybean rice cakes) definitely get the kuro mitsu matcha! So goood! They mix the soybean mixture with the cream on top! Grabbed some of the mochi donuts from the vendor inside and those were a hit with our friends, especially their mom's! Haha goes by fast, don't skip it if there's a line. It's worth the wait! Super nice employees and helpful too!

So, you gotta try this place out. They are known for their matcha! It's located inside the Mitsuwa marketplace in the food court area! They make it fresh and so they do run out of items but it's totally worth it. My friend and I ordered the coco matcha because they ran out of the other matcha drinks. They also make lattes! Service is up front at the register and you order up front. They make the drinks in front of you. Great atmosphere for small or large groups and also, you can drink your drink and shop the Japanese marketplace. I'll definitely be back! Till then, let's sip!

Delicious high quality drinks. I find the matcha ones to be better than non-matcha, but it could be because I love matcha. I've order the drinks freshly made from Good time donuts and I've also picked the premade ones from Mitsuwa. The premade ones were refreshing too. The drinks I've had ranges from $8-$10. Not cheap but it's because they're high quality ingredients. Love how creative the drinks can get.

I drove here to try their Matcha and they were out of the regular drink but only the Sakura foam matcha drink. It was a good drink but definitely not worth $8.50. The Matcha wasn't any deeper or earthier than any of the other places. I'm glad I tried it and it's fun that there is Kinokuniya right there while you wait for your drink.

The drinks here are not always amazingly beautiful, but taste so refreshing and delicious! They're made fresh with all natural ingredients. I always look forward to see how they change up their menu every season to incorporate seasonal ingredients. I finally got to try the sakura matcha and matcha zenzai along with their new sakura matcha mousse. They do a great job of making the drinks very flavorful, but not overly sweet! The mousse had such a strong matcha flavor and the texture was very smooth and soft.

My favorite matcha in the area! The flavors are perfectly strong while tasting light at the same time (somehow). The flavor combinations are creative and the drinks are overall high quality. Definitely on the pricier side, but makes sense given the quality and ingredients in each drink. Wish they had their own location instead of sharing in a food court, so here's to hoping they get their own storefront soon!

Finding this place was a bit as we had to go inside a shopping centre but it was still cute. The service was okay and it seemed like the person was new and couldn't really accommodate for changes (such as adding ice). We were really excited to try the drinks from here due to other reviews but our drinks were honestly just not good. It may be since it did seem like the person making it was new but the matcha was extremely grainy and earthy, and the ratios with the two drinks were a bit off, with one being mostly milk and the other being mostly matcha. It was so grainy from the matcha that I couldn't finish my drink because it was alll powder. The Cream latte honestly tasted like water with a drop of coffee. The drinks all looked really pretty though but wished the taste matched

unfortunately rude customer service and drink tasted expired, the donuts were good the though very packed on weekends and not lots of sitting.

Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.

Hands down love 1418 Coffee even after only three visits! I'm working in Plano this month and…read moreneeded to find a good caffeine stop after my long commute from Fort Worth. The baristas are all super friendly and were happy to answer all my questions. It's also super cozy with dim lighting, and the music isn't super overpowering or loud. There's mostly comfy couches but also a few tables and high top seating. Just a little chilly, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket. I was able to comfortably complete some work on my laptop, with working wifi. There were also people here socializing in the morning. They no longer serve breakfast tacos, so I opted for a bacon cheddar scone at one visit and a lemon blueberry scone on another. They were both delicious! The baristas told me that their chai leans toward the sweeter side versus the spicier side, so I opted for an iced sugar-free vanilla latte, which was not overly sweet. I also tried the beez neez (latte with honey and cinammon) another time and enjoyed it! They offer 2% milk, which I don't always find at coffee shops. Since it's in downtown Plano, there's street parking, which wasn't difficult for me since I came at 8 AM. I believe there are parking garages located nearby. Overall, I've greatly enjoyed 1418 Coffee and will most definitely be visiting more throughout this month while I'm working in the area!
