One of the most enjoyable meals I have ever had, anywhere. I had no reservation and got seated at the bar. The bartender/waiter was friendly and helpful in guiding me through the menu. I had an aged hangar steak, fries and a salad. Very simple and standard. Everything was done to perfection. The sommelier assisted w wines by the glass as I love wine but have limited knowledge of French wines. I also did a Cognac flight for "desserts along with a wonderful pastry. This steakhouse made it to World's Best Steakhouse list. So this means food is great. I ordered Steak Frites which was really good. It was so chewy and yummy. I can say that it was one of the best steaks I had. We also ordered French Onion Soup which was so good. As a person who doesn't like onions, I tried it and was pretty good. We also ordered two other kind of steaks which both were good. Service was amazing. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We got our orders within 20 minutes or so of ordering which is perfect. If you like to try new wines, this restaurant sommelier which walks around ,answer questions and makes suggestions about wines. This restaurant can be really packed during dinner time. We were lucky when we went line was short and we were able to be seated within 30 minutes of waiting. The ambiance of this restaurant is really cool. They have meats hanging in the fridges in the store. It's an interesting experience. This restaurant has two floor and I recommend seating on second floor since it has a nice of view of buildings. La Maison de l'Aubrac was a welcome change of pace from the traditional French fare. We arrived around 7:00pm and were nearly the only guests inside--but by 7:30pm, the place was packed. Definitely a good sign. The steaks here lean toward an American style, which I appreciated. As you walk in, you're greeted by an impressive display of aged cuts. I opted for a dry-aged ribeye, and they actually bring out three different cuts to choose from--small to large. I went with the smallest and it was still more than enough. A sommelier stopped by the table and, while knowledgeable, he was a bit pushy. He initially recommended a $300 bottle of wine (which gave me a good laugh). I ended up going with a half bottle of one of their fancier suggestions, and it was solid. Now, here's the thing--seasoning is minimal. Like, barely there. The steak had a great char and was cooked well, but if you're someone who likes a good hit of salt or spice, you may want to ask for it. Still, this was easily the best steak I've had across Europe and the UK--quality meat that speaks for itself. My wife ordered the filet and found it a little too plain for her taste. A quick tip: in France, if you want medium rare, order medium, or your steak will likely come out quite rare. They also serve their steaks with a spicy mustard on the side, but I wasn't a fan. If you're in the area, especially after a long day of shopping, this spot is definitely worth a visit. read more

I immediately noticed that the server appeared to be impaired/under the influence and had an overall untidy appearance. We reluctantly stayed as the sommelier was very personable. I ordered the filet mignon (cooked medium) and was brought something that hardly resembled a piece of beef. It was cold, nearly charred, and completely inedible. I came here as a place to eat since I had free time and it was relative average. The sirloin is a bit hard to cut and chew, and a large quantity of fat. The beef jerky was very good, however. I put it on the bread and it was good. As for deserts, I ordered the lava cake and it was incredible. The combination of vanilla and chocolate just tasted tasty.The servers were nice and offered us bread and drinks right away. Nice selection of wine and mocktails and the ice tea is really delicious. I would get the filet mignon solely for the softness. I came during summer and it is 37 Celsius. I expected heat, but it had air conditioning, which is a big plus. This place is absolutely worth visiting when in Paris. It's just a few minutes walk from Champs Elysee and you'll be impressed at the aging beef displayed in the glass cabinets as you enter the restaurant. The staff are welcoming and speak English, so ordering should not be a problem. They also have English menus, so make sure you request them. This place won't appear in the top places to eat in Paris but it should. I had heard never heard of this place & just casually happened to come across it casually. We opted for dinner here & it was one of the best Parisian dining experiences I have had. Their specialty is steaks & they do it so well! We ordered a lot of the items on the menu & all were tastfully executed. We had escargot, Ceasars salad, meat cheese plate, green beans, fries, au grautin potatoes, steak, creme Brulee, and brioche. All of this was plenty go feed 3 people with left overs. The price point was around 250 € which is a great deal in Paris. All the plates were equally delicious I can't quite pick a favorite! So we thought we hit the jackpot. We ordered the dry age rib and a burger with onion soup. This little spot stole my heart, and was probably one of my favorite meals in Paris. Their pan seared scallop entree was so delicious, and the caviar on top was the perfect addition to the dish. l'Aubrac specializes in dry aged steaks, and was one of the few spots that practiced the technique with their beef. We were completely shocked by the service and attitude received by our waiter. He tried to push 4 steaks on us when I was clear that we only wanted 1 to share amongst the 5 people in our party because we planned to order other entrees and appetizers to accompany the steak. From that point on, the entire night only went downhill. The service changed his attitude and was very rude. We ordered 4 starters and received one of them when the steak was already served before the rest of the starters. I've never had an entree show up before the starters. Kind of basic restaurant 101, to course out the dishes especially at that price. Waiter checked on us one time and never spoke to us again. The Sommelier however was wonderful. Super friendly, helpful and attentive the entire time. Always checked in with us and made sure we were ok. At the end of the dinner, when we asked for the check, the waiter had the audacity to ask if we wanted to leave tip for service! Not once while we were in Paris were we asked that so rudely, especially since it's not customary to tip. We tipped during meals that we enjoyed with great food and service while in Paris and this certainly was not one of those instances. We said no and he abruptly and rudely threw the card and receipt on the table and walked away without a word. When we walked out, other waiters said thank you and ours ignored us and didn't say anything. I made it a point to personally hand 20 euros to the Sommelier (even though we didn't order wine) as we walked out because he was truly amazing. The waiter saw it and was visibly flabbergasted and immediately approved the sommelier after we left (saw it in the window). Completely principal at the point, we weren't being cheap... we just didn't like the service we received from the waiter. Also, the food was mediocre, not even the best we'd had in Paris. This place is essentially a late night steak joint. It actually comes in quite useful especially after a long night out in the Parisian nightlife. Ironically this place is located directly across the street from a night club, which means that an interesting crowd will be here pretty much all hours of the night... The food here is really nothing to write home about, I wouldn't necessarily come here for the steak as it is a bit tough and chewy... The mashed potatoes, burger and fries were all indeed good, not great but good. At 4am, anything in your stomach is a good thing, especially If it's fatty and salty. Overall, ok in a late night pinch but wouldn't necessarily recommend for the casual person trying to take in the culinary experiences of France. Not only was this the worst dining experience I have ever had, the staff went as far as to attempt to steal my mother's credit cards and driver's license. Where do I begin? My father in law, mother, wife, 2 year old daughter, and I went to dinner here and were seated in the upper part of the restaurant. The area was loud with chatter and music, but not a problem to us. We ordered a significant amount of food, in excess of 1,000 Euro, yet had to wait for over 20 minutes just to get water to start the meal. While we waited, my 2 year old daughter was doing what 2 year old's do: playing with items on the table, laughing, clapping, and other normal things. To encourage her and keep her from leaving the table, we clapped for her and played with her. She was being an incredible child in a restaurant! Not more than 10 minutes after we ordered and were playing with her, the host came to our table and told us to quiet down. Keep in mind, the place was very loud to begin with, but our daughter was being absolutely perfect. So perfect that a table next to us was waving to her and telling us how incredible she was being. So, we asked the host what we were being loud about and he was not very forthcoming about his answer, so we assumed it was another table that had asked him to come by and talk to us. We asked the tables around us if they had an issue so that we could rectify it and only one table mentioned they would prefer to not have the child by them. A completely reasonable request and the host then moved their table for them. We thought the issue was over but then another man came up to our table and told us again to quiet down. I want to reiterate that this place was already loud and our daughter was doing nothing out of the ordinary. After the second man told us again to quiet down and we were still waiting for our first drink after placing a massive food order, we decided this place wasn't right for us and we did not like how we were treated. We left immediately. The story, however, does not stop there. We go to another restaurant, a fabulous place called Le Grand Corona, when my mother realized she had left her purse at the the restaurant. We did not want to step foot in this establishment again, but my mother and wife went back to retrieve the purse. They got there and it couldn't have been more than 30 minutes from when we had originally left. My wife went up and they had the purse, but the wallet inside that contained my mother's credit cards and driver's license was missing. My wife and mother searched everywhere, on the floors, in between cushions on seats, the bathroom, etc., and couldn't find anything. My wife asked the host, waiter, bartender, and other patrons where it was and no one said they knew. How could something inside the purse go missing within 30 minutes? Luckily, we had placed an air tag in the wallet and could track the location and sure enough it was at the restaurant. My wife showed the location to the host and he said nothing. It wasn't until my wife told the host she would call the police and have them come search that something happened. The host tried to sneak away on his phone, but my wife followed him and video recorded him notifying him that she knew he was trying to be evasive. The host went downstairs and at one point tried to hide from my wife recording him. After he hung up the phone, he didn't speak to my wife but instead walked back upstairs along with my wife. All of a sudden, sitting on the bar in plain sight was my mother's wallet. It was not hidden, it was not under anything, it was sitting right there on the bar for anyone to see. My wife and mother grabbed the wallet and left immediately as they did not want to deal with this place any longer. From start to finish, this place was a horrible experience and I highly advise anyone, either living in France, visiting, or both, to stay away from here. In addition, I welcome the restaurant to try to refute ANY of this on here and I will simply reply with the video recording showing EVERYTHING exactly as I described it read more

I had the spicy burger (26€), a recommended red wine (9€), and a chocolate lava cake with ice cream (9.40€). Everything was delicious. The lava cake should be shared as it is very rich. I also had a 2008 Bourdeaux that was to die for. The meat is organic and they show how they treat their cows on the tv, which is pretty awesome in my opinion.
