We used to live in the Los Angeles area for many years, where we discovered plenty of authentic Hispanic bakeries. My wife was moved to tears when she told the owner how much she appreciated it, and the owner simply smiled. While I didn't tear up, my mouth was watering at the sight of these baked goods. The bakery had display cases filled with different pastries, as well as several rolling racks full of pastries, including loaves of bread and cookies. We followed a large family's approach to shopping by grabbing one of the large silver trays and filling it with a variety of items. In the end, we ended up with around 10 items that only cost $7.00 - what a bargain, and they were delicious as well. Don't be intimidated to go in and get a lot of great treats. We love supporting local businesses. Even though the owners did not speak English, they were very friendly, and I was happy to use the "muchas gracias" that I know after my purchase.

Great panaderia! I miss the ones in the LA area, so this made me nostalgic. Everything we picked, the guava rolls, pineapple empanadas, coconut rolls, and almond cookies were just absolutely delicious. The empanadas had the perfect bake to them. You come in, grab a tray, and pick out all these beautiful pastries and sweet breads, then go to the register and pay. So you serve yourself which is pretty cool. I will be frequenting this place for sure. In a time where going to a bakery or buy food at the store can be a pricey ordeal, this place was so inexpensive, you can leave with a big bag full of wonderful goods for under $8. You can't beat that, especially for the quality.

Eeeeeeeee! We moved to Kernersville this past spring and are now finally exploring more - and today's find of a LEGIT PANADERIA 10 minutes from our house?!? YESSSSSSSA. So they all operate pretty much the same: grab a tray and tongs, fill with breads and sweets. The selection is amazing-more than I've seen at most here in WS. Some personal faves: Rolls, both round and football shaped. Bolillo has a bit extra egg white so they are fluffy and a bit chewy. Love making nice sandwiches with them. Anything that has a bright red paste. This is guava and it's incredible. Anything that has cheese! These are harder to discern. Anything really, just have fun! Bring cash: it's cheap but you need a $5 minimum. We got two custard things, a donut and two guava treats. I'd be lying if I said that we weren't planning to go back to get some rolls for a nice sandwich for dinner. Everything was fresh and delicious, and moves fast. Things aren't labeled, but after you go a few times you start understanding what things are, and I recommend just trying some new things, or google image what you got to make sure you can get it again. Finally the smell of fresh baked goodies and the kindness of the staff! 10/10 so excited this is so close!

This is a truly authentic Hispanic bakery and clearly family owned. Nothing is labeled because it is clear everything moves day to day and hour to hour as fresh batches of pastries are baked. There are 3 walls of cases of different pastries plus several rolling racks full of pastries. There must have been over 50 types of pastries. They had large silver trays and tongs. You take a try and fill it with as many pastries as you wish. While we were there trying to figure it all out person after person came in piling high these 16in rounds. Sadly I do not speak any Spanish. So my attempts to figure out what each pastry was was a complete failure. The owner tried to help but we both did not share enough words. So on the spot panicked and a bit embarrassed I tried to googled a list of Hispanic pastries to try to figure out what to get. But I wasn't very successful. So it good spirits I just picked a few things that looked interesting. I have no idea what I ultimately ended up with. But everything was very cheap. For 3 large pastries I paid 3.50. They were all very yummy in a different kind of way. While they are not they type of flavors I am used to they were a fun adventure in supporting a small local business. If you don't speak Spanish and feel adventurous I suggest doing a little research before arriving, throwing caution to the wind and just trying something new and surprising.

Didn't seem that the staff was fluent in English, so I had to go on "eye appeal".

Visually the items were the same, perhaps a little paler in color for some things like the scones. We each chose a pot of tea -- I went with an almond one and later got an included refill of a different variety, a chocolate raspberry, and both were knock your socks off amazing. Service was just attentive enough, and even the picky eater seemed to enjoy everything.

You do make a deposit if you are doing a tea service. I decided to go here for a Mother's Day tea lunch. We had the full tea service and my son had a child's tea. The interior is cute and I love how all of the China is mismatched. They have a large selection of teas and I chose a rose flavor. It was excellent with just the right amount of floral notes. My son had the birthday cake which had a nice vanilla aroma. Everyone gets their own pot, which is neat. They change their menu every month, but I think my favorites for the May tea, were the tomato sandwich and vanilla scone. The table was set with individual jars of clotted cream. We ordered cucumber sandwiches which were beautiful and tasty. Our server was very sweet. We plan to come back, especially for mom related celebrations.

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. Maybe I'm the last one to hear about Sweet Dough and everyone else has been a fan, or maybe it's a true hidden gem. Either way, I will 100% be back.

Also a good place to stop for sweets! So many options and…read moreI'm sure you'll find something you'll love! The interior was beautiful and the service was awesome!
