Do NOT shop here. These guys are worse than used car sales people. They out and out lied about the capabilities of the RV I was looking to purchase. When I told them specifically what I was looking for they handed me a brochure that showed the capability (For another RV) and said it was included in the one I wanted. They clearly did not know about the RV or it's capabilities, they just wanted to make a sale. When I raised the issue to La Mesa management - they were rude and really did not care about their customer. The offer they made to fix the issue was a slap in the face. And their service? Don't even get me started - too bad there are not negative stars. Take your business elsewhere, you will be much happier. read more

My RV air conditioner would not work, compressor would start but no fan. I went to La Mesa RV in Davis CA and asked about an appt. to diagnose, asking if they could check the run capacitor, as Dometic said it could be the issue. The service mgr. said that they do not replace the parts, they would only replace the air conditioner, which would cost about $1,200 and labor approx. $400. I checked with a refrigerator repair guy and he replaced the capacitor and cost me $100. La Mesa told me they would make an appt. in 2 months. Not great service for one who has purchased 2 new RVs from them! read more

We went to look at a motorhomes. We were greeted by friendly staff offered water or coffee if we wanted. Met with our sales lady Kristina S. she showed us the different RV's and we the liked the Mercedes Leisure Travel Van - Unity. Kristina was very knowledgeable on this motorhome and we decided to purchase this Unity, we met with the Finance Department and it felt like family. We went to the orientation did our walk through and learned about all the controls and equipment in the Unity. ZERO STARS: Two different drivers on 80 honked and pointed at the rear of our RV.  We didn't feel anything but pulled off on a frontage road. I got out and watched as our RV drove pass and noticed a significant wobble on the rear right tire. Turns out we were very near La Mesa RV Center. THEY ONLY WORK ON RVs. Except this day. We walked in the front office. Were virtually ignored. Then, after some time, without looking at anything were told, "We don't do that" (change a tire?? On an RV? Your specialty?? There was just an ad on TV for Chick-fil-a where an employee went out to the parking lot and changed the tire on a customer's tire!) and walked away with no referral to someone who could help us. Turns out that there was a bubble the size of a football on that rear tire (It hadn't blown, thank goodness). Thanks for nothing La Mesa. ZERO STARS. read more

I am not sure where to begin on this as I have contacted multiple people within the La Mesa organization including the corporate office to air my grievances about your service department. We brought in our RV for maintenance on February 1st 2021. After countless unanswered voicemails to Alyssa Chavarin, we received our RV back, temporarily, on May 19th, with incomplete repairs. With temporary access to our RV before having to turn it back in, we found damage to our interior linoleum as well as our speaker system. Having signed the CA Storage Waiver on Feb. 1st, we were under the reasonable expectation to have our RV back within a month. Instead, we did not have access to our RV or the property inside of it for 108 consecutive days. Including the subsequent repairs, our RV has spent 4/7 months we have owned it in the service center. On top of this extensive time for warranted repairs, we did not receive adequate or reasonable communication from Alyssa. Our calls were consistently sent to voicemail, and when we were able to contact her she told us that she didn't know what was happening with the parts needed and on multiple occasions we were advised to contact the manufacturers ourselves. In fact, we only heard back from her with requested details about the repair after we had spoken to the service manager Aaron Bonillo, the La Mesa Corporate office and filed a claim with the BBB. These steps should not have to be taken just to get information about your property. I was also promised a call back from the La Mesa corporate office with a promise to "make things right" and I have yet to hear from anyone regarding our experience. Quite frankly, the experience we have had with La Mesa is inexcusable. When purchasing a brand new $100,000+ vehicle under warranty there are reasonable expectations for service and La Mesa failed. read more

I brought my Roadtrek van in for bi yearly maintenance on the generator, refrigerator, and some minor issues such as missing exterior trim and interior latches. Tara my service representative was thorough and professional. She contacted me the next day about a missing generator cover and ordered the part. All work was completed in three days. Well so far I haven't heard a word from La Mesa. I purchased a Travato GL at the west Sacramento location last November. So far we have only on issue that I let the dealer know about immediately and have called and been online to schedule and appoint for the past 7 months to no avail. The online chat persons said they would have someone get back to me, when I did get to speak to an actual person I was told they were not my service contact and would have them call me. No calls back, I have left several voicemails as no one seems to answer the phone. read more

Terrible customer service! They are very attentive when you were buying the RV and then won't even return calls after the purchase is complete. It is impossible to transfer any warranties you buy. It has been a nightmare! We sold our RV after only having that one year because of the terrible customer service. We had to take our RV in over 12 times in that year for service and they never completed what they promised. We bought the RV in Sacramento and then had to take it to Davis for all service! We went to several places to shop for a motorhome in the Sacramento area. After a few trips to local dealers and visits at RV shows, we found a used one at La Mesa. The salespeople were nice and they weren't pushy. All in all, despite some financial SNAFU that they should have taken care of, it all worked out well. Life is too short to hold a grudge about a problem that you can't even remember two weeks later. But I will remember always the kind, attentive and generous service I've received from Robert Reaves and a mechanic named Mario. Our used motorhome had some issues and we went back several times to get the problems addressed. I knew going in that I bought a used motorhome and I didn't expect to get one that was pristine. Everytime I went back to get something addressed, Robert and his team were always concerned and they got right on it. Over the last 12 years or so, I've gone from a popup tent trailer, to a couple of hybrids, to a travel trailer and jump right up to a 34 ft. diesel pusher. After all those RV iterations, I've had my share of dealing with several different service departments from various dealers and La Mesa's is the best one of them all. Perhaps it's because our service representative is an exception to the rule. He is an honest gentleman whose main purpose is to deliver you a motorhome in the best possible condition. Maybe this review isn't so much about La Mesa as it is a reflection of how much I admire and respect how Robert has treated us. We purchased a motorhome back in May 2020 from La Mesa RV Center Port St Lucie, Florida. My family and I drove the motorhome back to California. Driving the 3000 miles home, things are going to come loose, so we took the motorhome to La Mesa RV in Davis, California for warranty work. We met with our CSR, took a walk thru, she diligently wrote up the paperwork with the list of things to be fixed that were under warranty. However, after 4 weeks, and going back twice, the list was never completed. Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed in the communication and attention to detail. I have made multiple attempts to contact my CSR through emails and phone calls since Aug 2020 with no reply. The sad thing is we aren't talking major repairs, these are all simple items. We went to the Pleasanton RV show, hoping to get some answers about our next home. We met Susan McGee from LaMesa RV's West Sacramento location & found our next stage in retirement. Our 2018 Tiffin Allegro Bus is our prize possession. We took it to La Mesa for some routine maintenance and some warranty work. As usual Tara and her staff nailed it again. We bought our Winnebago Revel at La Mesa RV in March of this year and have already put 10,000 miles on it! There's just two of us, my guy and me, and it really fits all of our needs ... simple, streamlined, practical and goes where we want to go. We had it in for service at the La Mesa Service Center on Chiles Rd. -- a few factory recalls and a once over on some minor problems. My first comment is be very careful of doing business with LA Mesa. They have absolutely horrible customer service, in my opinion. Our business relationship began with LA Mesa RV in December 2017 at an RV show they held at Cal Expo. We were amazed of all the attention that was given to us. All the sales staff and finance staff were great on that day. Notice I say on that day. The great service need once we bought the brand new 2017 RV. The service department was slow, they couldn't figure out how to resolve problems, I could never make an appointment within a week or so because they were always "busy" and could not fit us in, parts needed were either on back order or the wrong parts would be sent, I would take the RV in for repairs and the problems would not be fixed despite them stating what they had done to fix the problem. For example, the slide out was getting stuck. It would not retract. LA Mesa Service said it was some screws that were snagging at the bottom and stated they fixed it. They did show me it was fixed. But upon getting home I tried it again. The slide stuck again. Come to find out the problem was the rubber seal was getting in the track causing it to stick. I figured that out not the service department. After all of this we decided to sell the RV. Since we had bought an extended warranty I called LA Mesa so they could provide me with the paperwork needed to file for a prorated refund. How hard could that be, right? Well if your dealing with LA Mesa folks it's not easy and very frustrating. The finance person I talked to emailed me fully completed documents that belonged to someone else. These documents had their financial information. Then I finally got the correct documents and I sent them back to La Mesa on March 1, 2018 with a note requesting they let me know they received them and when they would be processed. Do you think I have heard back from them. NO!!! I am beyond frustrated. I called today in an attempt to speak with someone. Although, the gentleman who answered the phone did what he could to get me to someone that could help me nobody answered the phone. It rang and rang and then disconnected. This is horrible customer service. I guess my next option is to physically go see them. Maybe I can get someone to assist me or answer my questions. It's too bad I have to do this. If it were just a few bucks I may not be so upset, but it is more than a few bucks. read more

Had to buy our new Winnebago out of state because of availability. Of course it had some minor warranty bugs to work out. Heard about La Mesa's Mobile Service and they had great availability, even tho I'm 80 miles away. Vince worked diligently and professionally with his full attention to the task(s) at hand and completed nearly all on the list in a much shorter time frame than I expected. Items that he couldn't complete were beyond his control and he's addressed each one with a future resolution. Kudos to Vince for providing excellent customer service and exceeding my expectations.....!!!!! read more

I paid cash for a brand new Serenity in July 2018 at La Mesa in West Sacramento. In Sept '18 I noticed that LP was leaking around threads on the brass coupling where it screws into the propane tank. Pretty clear that it was just a matter of removing the coupling, and putting some more thread sealer. I bled all the LP out until the tank was completely empty. Then I was going to remove the fitting myself, but I didn't have a wrench big enough! I called Tara at the La Mesa service department. Told her exactly what the problem was and tried to make an appointment. I told her it was just a matter of unscrewing the brass fitting, putting some Teflon tape or thread seal on, and tightening it up again. Tara said they would have to "...keep it for 2 days to replace the fitting and pressure test the system." When I asked how soon I could get it in for that incredibly involved service call, she told me would be "...sometime in February." I said, "So you want me to drive two hours to your facility, stay in a hotel for a couple of days, while you take care of this minor problem?" "AND I have to wait FIVE MONTHS for the privilege?" Instead I took the RV to the propane distribution place where I get LP. The guy who fills the tanks, found a big wrench, unscrewed the fitting, smeared some thread compound on the fitting and tightened it up. It was done in 5 minutes. When I bought my 2020 Serenity 14 months later, I did not buy it from La Mesa. read more

I only gave them a 2 because at least they replied. My wife and I have been looking for a 5th wheel for about 3-4 years. We found the perfect one and reached out to the manufacturer. The only sales locally are La Mesa and another out of Tracy. Sent a request for an internet quote to the "Internet Sales" Manager. Glenn Riggs. Over the course of 3 days, he replied 3 times. The 3rd day he told me I would have to come in. I just wanted a Quote via "INTERNET". I called and was told they would NOT give me pricing on a single unit because they bought in bulk. I have never been involved in a company like LAMESA in Davis, CA that their main goal in life is to screw you. The last time were had our RV in their shop which was in February 2015. They informed us that our RV batteries will only last up to 6 months and we needed to replace all of them and this was why we were having problems. Myself not knowing that much in general about RV Batteries I GOOGLED this information, and never found anything that said they only last 6 months and would need to be replaced. Funny we just brought our RV back home from Sacramento Truck Center. The only thing that was wrong with the batteries they needed a little bit of water. How is it that LAMESA is still in business. Our warranty on our Class B expired in August, 2022. Alyssa has been our support contact through the two year period. She was an outstanding support person. For a while it was difficult to get the required parts. She did a great job in supporting us and keeping us informed of when parts were coming in. She handled schedule changes very well and was very accomodating. In general there are many complaints about RVs. We have none. All issues have been successfully addressed. My Wife and I just bought and took delivery, Monday, 5-7-18, of a 2018 Fleetwood Discovery 38K. WOW, what an incredible Motorhome. Took it on a small adventure, to pick up our Toy Hauler. Low and behold, the Toy Hauler, had electrical gremlins. Had to wait until, Tuesday, 5-8-18, and showed up at the Davis, CA store at 7:30 am. Mike, our Service Adviser and Steve came out to meet me. The problem was when the left turn signal was on, all the lights on my Toy Hauler, would flash, not good. Steve quickly diagnosed an improper ground. Mind you, La Mesa had never seen my Toy Hauler, or ever worked on it. I am taking a week long trip, Wednesday, 5-9-18, with the Motorhome/Toy Hauler. The problem was solved. I am so pleased. I had an issue with my Toy Hauler, they took the initiative to solve the problem. I am extremely grateful to have bought from La Mesa, they really went above and beyond. I really wish I could give a zero because that is the customer service we received from La Mesa...absolutely zero. We have a 2020 Tiffin Phaeton that we bought from LaMesa in Tucson in January, 2020. Got a recall notice. Called La Mesa in Davis to get an appointment. Took 3 months to get an appointment. In the meantime we identified a few other things that needed to be fixed including a headlight that was out. After 3 months of waiting we took it in and they kept it 2 weeks. When we dropped it we told them taht we want to do all the repairs and anything not covered by our extended warranty we would pay for out of pocket. My husband called La Mesa 6 different times during the 2 weeks they had it. So here is want happened: 1) They fixed the recall 2) Service Tech told us our air conditioner needed to be replaced. We have an extended warranty and we asked them to file a claim (that is the process). They didn't. 3) They told us that the headlight had to be replaced 4) They told us an entire window unit needed to be replaced (it is just a latch that is broken) My husband stressed that the most important item is the headlight. We were assured it would be ready because we leave in 48 hours for a 2 month trip. On Thursday afternoon (20 hours before we were supposed to pick up the unit....and remember they had it 2 weeks......my husband called and was told that the part department lost the parts list and the did not order any parts and did not do any repairs. WE were then told that due to the current supply chain issues they could not find the headlight assembly...then called late rand said they found it on Amazon for $500. In the meantime, we called Tiffin (the manufacturer of the RV) and they had the headlight assembly in stock for $221. There is obviously no supply chain issue on that part...that was a lie. Then an hour later we got a call from the extended warranty and was told that La Mesa RV had just submitted a claim for the new air conditioner and it was approved. When we went to pick up RV (still no work done) we were told the air conditioner is in stock and they can install it next week. BUT, we are leaving so can't get it done before we leave. And now the really disgusting part of this story...my husband decided to order the headlight and install it himself. But first he took it apart and realized the bulb was burned out. So, he went to O'Reilly auto parts, bought $15 bulb and replaced it...headlight works perfectly. So in summary: After waiting 3 months for an appointment and La Mesa keeping our RV for 2 weeks, they did nothing except the recall (BTW, that was a simple thing and was complted the first day they had the RV). They did not file the claim on our air conditioner during that 2 weeks and if they had the air conditioner could have been installed. They lied about the headlight and told us it needed $500 repair when it only needed a $15 bulb (I suspect it was never actually looked at). They told us that due to supply chain issues they could not get parts, but the manufacturer had parts in stock...again, another lie. The Service tech told us the parts department "lost the list" but I suspect he never even gave them the list...who really knows...these folks have a hard time telling the truth. Like I said..I wish I could give La Mesa RV a zero. read more

I purchased my Winnebago Solis from Rec Van (it's part of the LaMesa RV dealership) with the help of Kristina...amazing salesperson. I can't recommend her enough. She was friendly, very responsive, and lives the camper life herself, so she knows what she is talking about. Everyone there was amazing. I didn't want to be hassled with anything. I knew exactly what I wanted. I asked them to be prepared because all I want to do is sign paperwork. They were prepared. And they all loved my dog! That was a bonus. read more

Just bought my RV last month and our sales rep and service advisor have been great so far. Here is my problem: When I picked up the RV for the first time, the gentleman that helped us with our walk through was not thorough or knowledgeable. I found out a lot of things on our first and second trip that he should have gone through with me. The walk through was suppose to be two hours (so they told me), but it was more like 20 minutes. After the first couple of local trips, I took the coach back in for a few fixes. The girls that work at the service desk are very unfriendly and in willing to acknowledge customers that are standing right in front of them. The parts desk is not much different, after getting the attention of the service girl to ask about a price on a product, she referred me to the pats desk 5 feet away. While there were 5 workers having a conversation behind the parts desk, I stood there with out acknowledgement for at least 10 minutes. This place is beyond doubt the most dishonest place.... ever. I dropped off my pristine RV for an inner bed battery and to check the battery charge on the vehicle. I was surprised when they called and said the alternator was out cuz I just had a mechanic check the battery and alternator beforehand. When I said this, there was no more mention of it. It's really easy to check an alternator. It is either good or bad, no in between. But when I picked up my RV after they'd had it for several months (part not in, battery hard to get in they said) we noticed the bumper hanging down on one side. My agent Tara said she didn't know anything about it so I wrongly assumed it was just loose. I took it immediately to my body shop. They said it had been hit and that someone had rubbed rubbing compound on it to hide scratches. It's been hit on the underside and pushed doors together with scratches underneath the body. I took it back to show the manager who wouldn't even come out to see it. I sent pictures and a letter from the body shop. Then the manager called, said they weren't taking responsibility, and that there was rust in the pictures. I have pictures, there is no rust on a 2 yr old Mercedes RV, and they are just flat out lying. Don't take your vehicle here and don't buy from these crooked people. They won't take responsibility for your car in their care, you have to file an insurance claim, and have to pay the deductible and they just stand back and deny it even if your vehicle was spotless when you dropped it off for a minor problem. I've called corporate and they don't care either. Run from this company!! read more

My sales guy was a great guy but make sure you really give a hard look with what you're purchasing. There was some deep scratches on the headlight that was easy to miss when you're enamored with getting a new vehicle. When confronting la Mesa about the issue their response was simply to kick rocks. They don't care about you as a customer once you purchase from them, they won't take care of you, they have no personal responsibility except for profits. Buyer beware. read more

Brought my Mercedes sprinter April fools day of 2017, guess the joke was one me, their has been nothing but problems with this vehicle from day one .. stalling out constantly, battery/power failure belt breaking twice and many other things .. has been in the shop now 3 times and should have been their sooner , the service center is so far away and they seem to drag u out months later for appointments .. this van is a lemon it gets no stars just 3 thumbs down and a call from An attorney, I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone all my coworkers looked at it and some are considering making a purchase, but not this one .... read more

Bought a new rv from le masa got home , went to use key phob but it didn't work called service in davis told them the problem they said we have had this happen before it took 5wks. before i could get in. when I got the appt. and took it in they said they had to order a part 6 wks. i made the trip back to davis . the waste of fuel and 9?hours of waiting with no apology. Beware...every time we have taken our new RV in for service/repairs under warranty we provided them with a list of items needing repair, replacement or adjustment. On 3 different occasions, our "new" RV was kept 30+ days. The service was only for the "house" part. Upon picking up our RV at La Mesa, we would find new small/damages. Example: they had to adjust and tighten kitchen cabinet drawers. When we picked up our RV, we discovered cuts on the edge of the counter top. On another occasion I noticed a 12"+ scratch on the driver's door (which they did repaint). After complaining, they became irritated and will only perform approved warranty repairs. Tgey will not take responsibility for their service technicians carelessness. We decided to call the manufacturer and was able to locate a different service center that was 6 miles from our home vs La Mesa in Davis (25 miles). read more

Giving 1 star but they should have no stars. Worst service ever!! I can't believe they don't have competition. Horrible communication. Had our RV for 2 months to fix heater and slide. After 2 months of excuses we went to pickup RV to fix ourselves. Had to wait an hour to get RV. More excuses. Bought an extended warranty for $7k that was no use. The slide was installed wrong at factory but not covered because over 1 year old. I think any Manufacturer should not sell their RV brands through this dealer. They give manufacturers bad name by default. Service rep Ashley was awful. Her service manager was good at telling you what you want to hear but no action, no results. I had items that needed minor repair and La Mesa RV was the original seller of our unit. We had to make a two months in advance appointment and drive 80 miles to take it in for the service. When we arrived we were informed that it would take two weeks to have the repairs completed. Two days later I received a call from the service tech who informed me that none of the items were under warranty. He wanted $169 per team to even look at them. Which tells me they spent no time looking at the items needing attention. Then he informed me that I had to make an appointment to pick our motor home up. Who ever heard of such a thing. An appointment to get my Rv? So the end determination is unless you have no other avenue for repair, I suggest you get your check book out and prepare yourself to be ripped off. read more

I purchased a 2016 Travato from La Mesa with 5K miles on it and paid an add'l 5K for the RV extended warranty. My first report of issues was about an year and a half ago and a week after the repair, it broke in exactly the same spot (a very costly refrigerator door). I came up with a hokey way of making it work rather then submitting another claim because I simply could not wait so long for a repair. From my last report of issues with my class B to partial completion of the issues took over a year. Most of my issues were denied by the warranty company which I realize may not be their issue but this one is... a leak where water seeps right into my electrical outlet and the service team was not able to replicate it and refused to complete tests until they found it. I will wait for it to rain and film it but certainly do not want to wait another year for it to be fixed. When I came in for the approved repairs I was not asked for my keys and as such figured all repairs were going to be done as it sat since none required the keys and I left everything open. Rather then going to their lounge area, I walked to Cindy's down the road for breakfast since I knew it would take at least an hour or two. After I got there, my service manager called and said that they needed my keys! OK so I should have known but I asked if someone could just drive on down to pick them up and he said "no, we don't do that". Unbelievably bad customer service. As a former client relations director I would have done that personally for any client. Not wanting it to cost me another hour or more of my day, I left before my breakfast was served and walked the 15 or so minutes back and waited it out in the lounge. After repairs were done, nothing was explained to me and it was not tested in front of me. It does seem to work however. It also seems crazy to me that they are expanding the service area in Davis rather than in West Sac. So few people live in Davis as compared to the customer base in Sac. It is beyond inconvenient to wait months for my service inspection appointment, drive out to the island of Davis, leave my rig for service inspection, Uber back home and then Uber back to pick it up a couple days later, have most of my claims denied, and then wait another couple/few months for the actual service appointment and do it all over again. It's ridiculous. It's a good thing I love my Travato 59G. read more
