It was a beautiful and sunny saturday at lunch time so it became busy quite quickly but we managed to sit outside and were welcomed by a very friendly waitress. As it became busier, the poor only waitress waiting outside was clearly overwhelmed but we - and everyone else it seemed - were in a relaxing saturday no-hurry mood. The menu is quite complete for all your quick lunches fixes and we choose to stick with the reason our hearts brought us here - maple - and got a piece of maple pie and maple and blueberry waffles. As we passed through a variety of tiny towns that were not much more than intersections we kept looking for something that was...open. Not fast food and...open. Did I mention it was somewhat early on a Sunday morning? Anyway we finally spotted this place...as we passed it. We turned around and came back to it with our hopes up..."Was it open? Was it? It was a restaurant right? Like a diner kind of place?" Well it was open and it was a diner kind of place. We were delighted and went right in. I used one of the few things I have learned to say in French aside from "thank you" and greetings...and asked if they spoke English. I got a smile and a finger held in the air (the polite finger, not the rude finger) and the employee disappeared for a moment, returning with the owner. He turned out to be a delight and between his passable English and our meager French we exchange some small talk and ordered our food. It was outstanding...eggs done perfectly. I cook a fair amount and one of the things people often underestimate is eggs. By underestimating I mean that eggs in their many varieties of preparation are not a simple food to execute really well. We were very happy to have found this place and the food was really good at very fair prices.

Pretty big orchard so you can get plenty of walking in. There's ladders around the orchard to help you get those high up apples. They have a store that sells all kinds of apple products from ciders, vinegars, jams and other products. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

I sent a message via Facebook chat to Vergers Petit et Fils and they answered pretty quickly saying we weren't late at all. It was a beautiful fall day and the sun was out. I arrived a bit earlier than the rest of the group so we enjoyed their little shop and played around with the farm animals. It's a great place for families with young kids. They have a playground, swings, a large area where children can run and have fun. When my friends arrived, we went inside to try their homemade crepes. Those were definitely not the best I had eaten. Pretty pricy and not too tasty. The crepes were mushy and soggy and the filling was barely cooked. The food is by far the worst experience as the rest is so awesome! The good thing is that they have a big variety of alcohol to choose from. After lunch we headed to the orchard and had the best of times. There were still plenty of apples in the trees and lots of people still participating in apple picking. We enjoyed the truck ride (sitting on bales of hay) around the orchard and filled 2 bags of delicious apples. The staff is amazing, from the people working in the shop to the truck driver. The latter even offered to drive us to the right location for the specific type of apples we were looking for. All and all, we spent 5 hours at the orchard and were never bored. Enjoy the scenery and get loads of apples for pies. Best orchard, just lower your expectations when it comes to their restaurant.
