This concept is not found in the US, at least that i am aware of. Its a Tapas style set up. You order alcoholic drinks/beverages and the food automatically comes to the table for free. They will continue to stop until you tap out. Most appetizers, and tacos, but not complaining. They do have menus but people come here to have a good tome and fill up on the appetizers. Its a club type of atmosphere, either the DJ is going or they have music variety performers that play all mexican genres type of music. Fortunately wandering up and down a couple of streets we came up this amazing place. The restaurant is beautifully appointed with amazing murals. The staff is super friendly, our waiter Danny was a superstar. But let's move on to the food shall we? We got a couple of cokes and some guacamole. The avocados were so fresh, with great peppers and onions mixed in. (During the course of our meal several delivery men dropped off huge amounts of ripe/fresh produce straight to the kitchen). My wife got the coconut shrimp, and I got the salmon. Both came with great rice topped with a grilled plantain piece, some green salad, and a refreshing cubed apple salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh I swear it was caught in the last 48 hours, tops! When our meals came we ordered margaritas. With fresh lime squeezed in they were amongst the best we've had in any country we've been to. The minutia? Clean restrooms as well! If you are in Manzanillo this is the ONLY place to come eat! They do everything just a little bit better than everyone else. You can tell a lot about a Mexican restaurant by how well they prepare the tacos de frijol. The quality of the tortillas, the flavor of the beans, and the timing of the service. I usually order an extra plate of tacos de frijol to go because I am traveling through Tecoman and you don't need to heat them up to be awesome. I am becoming kind of an aficionado when it comes to octopus. I never thought I would like it so much. I like the diabla sauce, but even more I just like it on the grill. You know it is really good by how tender it comes. Homero's does it so much better than anywhere else I have tried it. Homero's takes ceviche tostadas to the next level. There is a layer of fish ceviche and then another layer of shrimp on top of that. It is a really unique touch that I had not seen before. The quality of the ingredients is off the charts. There are world class water 10km down the road and it seems that they get the best of the best. The restaurant is a little off of the tourist track and caters to a discerning and local crowd. I get the impression they have been doing this for a long time. Homero's is a destination in itself. It is worth driving to Tecoman to check this place out if you like seafood. I think the ambiance is a little better than the food. I am always super excited to go because you are sitting on the sand, watching some world class surfing going on, but I always feel like the food is just OK. They do this fish filet that is stuffed with a mixed batch of seafood that I usually enjoy. The last time I went I felt it was a little overcooked. The oysters are always good but you will pay, what I feel is a premium, for them. The one thing I always get is a fish broth with a couple of shrimp in the bottom. Bomb, always, never misses. This place is a destination. People come from all over Western Mexico to play at the beach. With tons of safe parking it is a fun day to be had at Pascuales.
