This place came very close to hitting all of the marks for me. The atmosphere was very fun, the food was great, and the workers were kind. I ordered the taco plate (chorizo, birria, and asada. Each of the tacos were delicious in their own ways. Where they fell short in my eyes was the rice and beans. They also don't let you get different meats in each of your enchiladas which was disappointing. I thought it was very good however, and could totally see my self going back. read more

Tried this for the first time tonight! the atmosphere is beautiful and clean. The service is rly attentive but they got my margarita wrong, not a huge deal. The food is good but i've had better mexican food. Their online menu doesn't match the in-house menu. I had been here once before but couldn't remember if I liked it so I tried it again. It didn't take long to figure it out. I don't like the salsa. There are three, and none work for me. I like to put salsa on my entree and these don't work for that. Too hot, and not the best flavor. We ordered the queso flameado to start, but it didnt come out until well after our entrees so we didn't end up eating it. I had the cheese stuffed poblano, and it was really good. But without salsa to pour over it, it was a little disappointing. It was Mother's Day, so the service wasn't great. I'd like to say I'll be back, but salsa is a big deal for me and I'm not a fan of theirs. There were two different sources of music, and they were both too loud. The first time we ate here a couple of months ago, the mole sauce made me sick, but I think it's an allergy, so we decided to give them a second chance, and no mole this time. Instead I got the beef fajita tacos and my husband got the Burrito Especial. The burrito was huge and delicious, but no beans on the side, so slight disappointment for him. The restaurant is decorated nicely. Not overboard with the minutiae. The music wasn't too loud either so you can actually have a conversation without yelling. The service was prompt and friendly! We ordered the queso flameado with steak which was table-side served. Not much flair too it but it was cool for the kids to experience. I ordered the carne guisada (which is always an indicator for me of a good or bad Mexican food place) and 2 "tamals" on the side. The guisada was cooked perfectly. No fatty chunks floating around, the meat was fork tender. I was happy about that but the flavor was lacking a bit. I sauced it up with the jalapeño and habanero sauces and that helped. I probably wouldn't order it again BUT the "tamals" were fantastic! I could eat them everyday and I just might. Our kids enjoyed their tacos and quesadillas. I was a little worried since they got two bad reviews. The food was great! Probably the competition trying them out. The I took pictures of our dishes, luckily before we began eating. The inside is a little small. The food is fresh and taste good. I only expect this place to get better as time goes on. Great edition to the Lubbock Foodie scene. My wife and another customer said the sea food soup was spicy and had to add a lot of salt for taste, I agreed with their thoughts. Just needs a little more chicken base and would be great. I can't imagine a worst experience than the one we had Sunday at your until we walked out. Never done that before, but it was necessary. First the hostess spoke Spanish and I said I don't understand you and she kept talking and I repeated I can't understand you. She finally got someone who spoke English and then seated us. 10 minutes later I went and said no one has waited on us and other tables after us had drinks and chips. The a young man came and said we are trying to find a server and walked off. Then he came back and said I guess I will take your order because we can't find a server. My husband told him he should have taken care of it in the first place instead of making us wait longer and he said we were looking for a server and we said not our problem. Then he doesn't bring chips and he brings our two drink orders with his hand completely over the top where you drink from. Not great hygiene! My husband asked for a new glass brought with his hand at the bottom and he left and I said let's go!
